You know...that was the thing about this big, bright earth, Morifaer mused, that it seemed to have to entirely different sides to itself. Day and night brought upon the wide world their own peculiar changes, and what seemed perfectly benign in the day, could be their worst nightmares come the setting of the sun. Morifaer, however, took great personal pleasure in being one of those things that didn't seem particularly harmless be it light or dark. The sun was setting, and he'd just finished his snack, a little rabbit whom had died of a heart attack the minute he'd caught it beneath his massive paw. An unsatisfactory death, but amusing all the same. With a grand yawn, flashing a mouthful of terribly sharp teeth, he stretched his legs, and went out for a stroll through the tall grass. Perhaps he'd find something larger...rabbits by themselves were nowhere near filling.

Kasdeya was nearly an adolescent now and still growing larger everyday alongside her siblings. As though to challenge herself, the cub set off towards the hunting grounds in search of game beast. The sun was setting and while most lions hunted in day, all members of the demon pride were very familiar with night. It was second nature for Kasdeya to see in the dark and she believed it to give her an advantage - the prey would not suspect to be hunted at night. As the cub prowled through the land hungrily, her bright green eyes scanned the territory thoroughly. While she was disappointed to not see or hear any potential meal, she was surprised to see the large God simply strolling through the grass as though he too was also hunting. Kasdeya paused where she was, eyes wide for a moment and then returning for normal as she regained her cool. Stepping forward, the young demoness breathed in and took her opportunity. "My Lord, Morifaer.." She spoke respectfully, lowering her head in a bow as she came near him.

Ah, mortals, usually so very cordial when he came around, though he had to say that, so far as manners went, the Lady Posca had outshone them all. He would have to direly scold Iar on that account. Iar himself was getting far too dangerous, too rash, and Morifaer didn't like it. It was about time for this plaything to come to its end, as it was growing a very willful mind of its own. However, this youngling seemed interesting, that she would so willingly approach him. A slight smirk touched his dark maw, and he rumbled his approval. "Hello, young lady...who might you be?"

Kasdeya stepped forward boldly, curious as to how many of the other cubs her age had spoken to their patron God. She had dreamt of her first encounter when she was only a cub, having heard so many elaborate stories of him when taught the pride's founding beliefs. As brave as she was, simply being in the presense of the massive lion with full wings was intimidating. She took a breath again before speaking, head still knelt down before her. "I am Kasdeya, daughter of Iartuupe." Despite her family issues concerning her mother and father, she knew her father's place in the pride and recognised herself above others because of that. As she spoke, Kasdeya's gaze jumped from one of Morifaer's flaming orbs to another. She was curious about just what they were, but felt it was not appropriate to waste the God's time with her silly questions. Lifting her head, though not all the way, Kasdeya added, "I would ask that you allow me to give you an offering, M'Lord."

Ah, one of Iar's daughters, he should have guessed, one part brave, two parts fool, likely as not, but he was never one to underestimate. Iar was an idiot at times, but he was crafty too, and he'd likely passed on the gene. "Ah, well met then, young Kasdeya." He purred, blue eyes half-lidding. Pointed ears pricked when she spoke of offering, wondering what such a little lass had to offer. Well, easy enough to find out. "What is it you offer then?" Coaxing, persuasive.

Morifaer's tone caused a shiver to be sent up the young female's spine. She took a deep breath, as though literally consuming his words in an attempt to gain and understand his power. The God was both a marvelous and intimidating site to see! Though it took her a moment, Kasdeya was quick on her feet and able to gather herself to answer him. Keeping her gaze on him as she spoke, the graceful female carefully lifted her body up to stand at her full height. "I will hunt a worthy meal for you. The blood of the prey beast will be yours." With a sly smirk, the female slid forward, further into the hunting grounds.

Well, he would never turn down an offer for food, though it was not, perhaps, the quickest way into his heart, if indeed he had one. Nodding slowly, he aquiesced, a slow, interested smile touching his maw. "All right...I accept...I will see what you are capable of then, young Kasdeya." She was ambitious, at least, to attempt to hunt for a god. At the very least, such a willing mind might be trained in his service...he could always use more followers.

Had Kasdeya been older she might have thought twice about her offer and used her feminine charm to find a way to make her way into the God's heart. It would be wise of her to make her name known to the deity and it would be even more to her advantage for that name to be something the God looked forward to hearing. As she crept forward, the female slowly lowered her frame beneath the tall grasses and narrowed her eyes on her surroundings. The hunting grounds were nearly silent during the night and she would need to use her stealth and silence to creep upon a prey beast unexpected.

Kasdeya was too proud to explain that this was one of her first hunting experiences and that she hadn't been really trained by any of the grown members of the pride. She had watched them and taken down mental notes as suggestions, but this would be her first hunt alone. The added pressure of the God's gaze was slightly nerve wracking as she searched desperately for something worth the great lion's time. Her eyes passed over various mice scattering along the ground. She would need to gather dozens of those to satisfy his appetite! When it seemed as though she would be left disappointed, the lioness caught site of a pair of small animals hovering around the opening of a burrow. Kasdeya's body went low as she pulled herself forward to get a better look at the two young aardvark's awaiting their mother's return.

Morifaer watched her slink off, blue eyes flickering in amusement. So much dedication in one so young, oh yes, he had no desire to do anything but cultivate such a desire. Children were often easy to manipulate, and as precocious a creature as Kasdeya appeared to be, Morifaer was sure that she would be no different. A pretty child, with much potential, and the demonic god would harvest that potential with great enthusiasm. If nothing else, she had whet his appetite for something beyond the usual this day.

Kasdeya grinned at the site of the mostly helpless young twins awaiting quietly. She was able to creep forward silently until one of them picked up her scent. A frightened squeel was enough to force the young lioness forward, leaping towards the pair with an open, eager jaw. She was lucky the pair awaited so close to one another because while one managed to disappear in the nearby burrow, Kasdeya had been able to cut off the other, bitting hard upon the animal's neck and having it drop limp in almost an instant. She had foiled her own plan, having hoped to catch the pair and return with something more than what she had promised. Though she felt frustrated with herself, she felt accomplished. As the taste of blood wet her tongue, she purred in satisfaction. The blood, however, was not for her.

Surprised that the mother of the two young animals hadn't returned, the lioness returned the direction she had come. It wouldn't look good if she was chased away by an angry grown aardvark. While she had been lucky to take down the young she would be unable to fight off the grown counterpart. It was not long before she stood before her patron God, proud grin upon her face. Kneeling down, she set the dead animal before his paws and backed away slowly, keeping her form low.

Surveying the returned young lioness and her prized catch from his own great height, he smiled inwardly. Not bad for a creature not long out of cubhood. The aardvark was not the largest of creatures, but this one was young, the flesh tender. A modest enough catch and a suitable enough offering. Inclining his head to her, as much thanks as she was likely to get from the god, he then slowly lowered himself, lying upon the ground with the offering still between his large paws. "It suits." He praised, "You are as expected of one born of the blood of my Aran'shale, tell me, Kasdeya, do you have any aspirations towards leadership yourself? Or have you another goal?"

Having had only Iartuupe as her source of affection and appreciation, the God's gesture was more than enough to satisfy the young female. She watched proudly as the male accepted her offering. When he lowered himself to her level, she watched in absolute disbelief. Not only was she able to meet the great God and show him her dedication, but he was even putting himself at her level. Even with her pride, the lioness fought hard to bow low to the male in order to show him absolute obedience. He was the ultimate lion to obey and she could not have him thinking she felt otherwise. When he gave her a compliment, Kasdeya stood tall and proud. Her father had never given her such praise! Aspirations? the juvenile thought with a wicked grin. Those were all she strived for! Eager to explain herself, Kasdeya responded, "I long to prove myself to the pride and train regularly. I hope to someday fight alongside the other heirs in the great tournament. I would want nothing more than to earn a valued position myself."

Ah, almost tripping over her words in her eagerness, and yet managing to sound learned, quite sure of what she wanted. How very perfect, a shame that his own children were not more like this one. "That you wish to earn your place is admirable, and of course, I will admit that always...are we in need of such as you. No matter what position that you are granted, I think that you will do well, should you continue in your current path." But a little nudging was often all it took, praises and careful guidance were the best manipulation of all, and with such little grooming would this lass be a useful tool to him within the pride. It seemed almost too easy a thing. "If not a queen, my dear, what would you do?"

The young female remained in disbelief over what it was that she was hearing. She had been almost scolded at times over her pride and here one of their God's was flattering her with the most encouraging words. It took all of the female's power not to beam with joy and grin wildly. She couldn't wait to tell Mahewa and Nyota what she had been told! She only hoped the God meant what he said and truly saw such potential in her. It gave her the courage to support her waivering dreams of reaching the top and making a name for herself. She would make her father both proud and envious of what she had become. As Kasdeya prepared her response, she sat further upright, making sure to carefully expose a scar on her underside. She wouldn't bring it up, but if the God noticed it, perhaps he might think even more highly of her! "If not Queen I hope to find a rank among your followers. I believe I could be a loyal consort or dedicated member on the council."

Watching her mannerisms, he chuckled low in his throat. Ah yes, so ambitious and so very proud of herself, eager to please. Malleable. "Excellent." He knew that there was quite the competition...for the next heir, but none had particularly stood out to him. Nyota, perhaps, for he would be a delicious spite to Sparda's Aran'shale, but no...too reckless, to like Iar, too full of his own stupid misconceptions and utterly full of himself. Useless, in the end, unless it was to direct that fervor in more violent means. "I look forward to seeing how your actions play out, my dear..." He rumbled, spined tail flicking to and fro behind him as he delicately sliced open the carcass of the dead creature between his paws with one large claw. "I'll have my eye on you, Kasdeya, to see if you bloom as your desires give promise of."

Once the God had finished speaking, the small lioness could only nod obediently. He had given her so much more than what she had been expecting! This encounter would certainly give her strength. How many others had received such blessings from the God himself? Once Mori sliced into the young aardvark, Kasdeya suddenly became aware of how much of the Gods time she had taken for herself. Certainly he had other things to attend to! Rising to her feet slowly, the cub glanced back towards the pridelands and then returned her gaze to her patron God. "I am thankful that you accepted my offering and I know I won't let you down." Kasdeya was bold and with Mori's encouragement she would continue along the same path she desired, eager to prove to everyone how capable she was! Once she finished speaking, she bowed low again and slipped backwards, "I won't take up any more of your time.." She said politely on her way out.
