So much had happened since Kasdeya's encounter as a juvenile with the patron God of the demon pride. She had kept to her word and trained excessively, building both mental and physical strength so that she might succeed to the best of her ability in the pride. She had grown rather well, her body both sleek and muscled. As an adolescent she was making the final preparations for the competition for title of true heir. She could taste the anticipation as she awaited the Kings' announcement of when it would come.
Kasdeya had planned to seek out Morifaer during the extent of her training, but she could never bring herself to find him again. He had been so encouraging of her when she was young, what if he was disapointed with what he saw now? What if he found someone else that better suited his fancy?
Mahewa, the male that Kasdeya herself first introduced to the pride, had grown exceptionally as well. He was one of the largest males of the pride, firekin blood showing through his mortal skin. Kasdeya was possessive of this male and believed he owed her something for what she had given him. In the recent days, however, he had found more interest in a new demoness, Nasian. It would be for that very reason that Kasdeya would seek out the patron God for the second time, vengeful and furious with how things had unfolded.
Why couldn't Mahewa see the glorious things Morifaer had seen in her!?
Morifaer had been keeping more of an eye on Kasdeya than she likely thought. Morifaer was less a teacher, really, than an observer, setting things in motion and letting them play out, manipulating from behind the scenes, and stepping in when he was desirious of doing suchly.
It seemed that certain things had come to pass, not necessarily planned, but helpful nonetheless... She was already easy to maneuver into place, but now...now the lovely little adolescent was ripe for the picking. Iartuupe had never been particularly careful in his watch over his descendants. Once they were within the pride, he simply...let them go. Feh, yet another one of the flaws that Morifaer could not tolerate, what an insane buffoon he had turned out to be.
This time, however, it was his turn to seek the little lioness out. Morifaer was never one not to meddle in the lives of others, and Kasdeya was something that could not be resisted...sometimes the most entertaining creatures were those easiest to manipulate into place. Roaming the pride lands, he caught a whiff of her scent, and with a dark smirk, he followed it. About time...to visit his dear little protege.

Kasdeya had made her way to the hunting grounds in which they had first met. She remained near the outskirts, bright green eyes scanning her surroundings curiously. It seeemed unlikely that the two would meet in the same area once again, but it was her first thought as where to look. Afterall, on the very rare ocassion lightning did strike twice in the same spot. Despite this, Kasdeya understood Gods had the ability to mask their image with that of a mortal so if Morifaer wished to remain unseen he was fully capable.
Hearing the sound of someone approaching, Kasdeya shifted her head to catch the site of the very lion she sought! He seemed to float towards her, infamous great wings spread out so powerfully! The God radiated a dark aura that seemed to call her towards him. Though reluctantly at first, the adolescent greatfully stepped forward, bridging the gap between them. Once she stood face to face with him, Kasdeya brought herself low to show homage.
With her body close to the ground, Kasdeya shut her eyes and listened to the God breath above her. It seemed too perfect for them to meet again in the same situation. Perhaps Morifaer was the lightning to her thunder? Perhaps he could truly assist her in becoming the lioness that she strived to be!
"Why hello, Kasdeya, such a pleasure to come face to face with you once more." He rumbled a pleasure-filled smirk on his maw. She was so eager to serve him, to dip her head, to bow...most of the pride knew to give him homage, but most were certainly not so quick, so willing. It would be a horrific shame if he did not make use of so very delightful a tool, if he did not shape her life somehow then things would be so greatly amiss.
"I have watched you..." He murred, "Seen you learn...Tell me then, precious Kasdeya, do you know yet where your path is taking you?" Of course he wanted to know what she thought, test her ambitions and see if they were as strong as before. Carefully sitting, he curled his tail about his paws, those massive, leathery wings slowly furling about him. She need not be afraid of him now...for as of yet he meant her not a whit of harm.
Kasdeya was a proud lioness who kept her emotions strictly to herself and focused on the more important matters at hand. She had goals set out for herself and believed herself entirely worthy of them. To lower herself was a rare situation, but she believed the patron God to be entirely worthy of her respect. Respect and obedience were two demonic ideals that many of the pride's followers seemed to disregard when it better suited them. Kasdeya was, at most times in her life, one of these lions who thought more prominantly of herself than of the group as a collective. In the presense of such a great power, however, even the most stubborn lioness could be humbled.
Self preservation or her own twisted manipulation in order to get just what she wanted from the male?
Once the male spoke, Kasdeya lifted her form from the ground and took a step back in order to witness the male in all his splendor. She watched in awe as he spoke of how he was so glad to come across her again. Could it have been possible that he sought her out as she did he? To hear that he had specifically kept an eye on her, of all the lions of the pride, sent a shiver down her spine. Regaining her composure, the female's expression soon faded into a half smirk. She remembered him asking the same question all that time ago. Though time had certainly gone by, her dreams had not faded in the least.
"It is an honor to have stumbled across your path once again, Morifaer." Kasdeya spoke his name confidently and continued, "I long for the title of heir so that I may follow in my father's footsteps in direct the pride with your name." It was such a bold statement but the lioness understood that there was no point in lying or avoiding the truth with the male. He could likely see right through any facade she might attempt. "If the chance that I am unsuited for the title, I hope to still serve beneath you amongst the high ranks. I would be a loyal consort." Her smirk widened as though to flirt.
Morifaer laughed softly, mirth flickering through his blue eyes, his gaze deceptively devoid of malice or any hint of manipulation. "And again you greet me with such excellence and determination. Were that I had been so very focused when I was but a young godling..." Those were, in truth, days that he had no intention of allowing his memory to linger on, bad days, shaping, shifting days...
"There are many worthy rivals for the title of heir, my dear..." He informed her, likely of what she already knew, but it must be said nonetheless. In truth, he had already seized upon an idea, and had his sights set on the one that he would make king. But whilst this lass believed, she was more useful still. "And I can see you suited for the high ranks indeed..." A purr, voice lowering into the velvety, near-seductive range. That the child had the gall to tempt him was fascinating, and it made him wonder if she knew the sort of game she was playing. "You would be marvelous."

Morifaer's complimentary words caused a second shiver to run down the female's back. She was not disappointed in the least by her second encounter. Why had it taken her such a devastating moment in her life to find him once again? Had she kept in closer contact with the God she might have entirely avoided becoming close to the foolish male, Hewa! She had lost her path for a moment, but was entirely set on regaining herself. The God had an eye on her and she would not disappoint him.
When the God reminded her of the worthy heirs, she felt her grin fade for a moment. Had there been others that he began interested in while she was absent? Quickly recovering herself, the lioness regained her grin, listening carefully to the rest of what he had to say. She knew that there were quite a few handfuls of lions her age that wished the same title that she did. This was not new to her. She couldn't kept but suspect that Mori knew more than what he was telling her. Not allowing this to change her mood, the lioness felt a purr rumble deep in her throat. "Oh, I would." She repeated, as though to both reassure herself and the God before her.
Turning the tables on the great male she had gone out of her way to find, the lioness thought she would take advantage of the fact that he had obviously looked for her. "What brings you to me? What is it that interests you so?"
No matter...queen or no, he would be watching her, for Iar's children, especially the sane ones, were of particular interest to him. Though the father had been a failure, he had done his duty in producing a slew of cubs, though the last batch had been a horrible slight to a goddess, one that Morifaer himself had taken something of...a professional liking to. Such a thing must not be overlooked.
"Good..." He rumbled, "I much look forward to seeing your performance, when the time comes...I have, of course, been watching many of the heirs grow...off and on, some of them, I fear, are terribly disappointing..." Though he smiled faintly, indicating that she was not so. Mmm, no indeed, she was far less disappointing and beautifully useful, even as her sire's usefulness was swiftly fading.
"And what brings me to you? Ah, a good question, my dear..." Funny that she would ask. Lowering his great head to peer at her, eye-level now, he smirked, "Why to encourage you, of course, to talk to you and fathom the surety of your convictions..." A slight pause, "Also, I had noticed that you seemed somewhat distraught, frustrated, perhaps, and I wondered if I could mayhap alleviate whatever is vexing you, even if just a bit..." She was no longer a child, and he wasn't worried about what she just might ask for.
Kasdeya listened as Morifaer continued to discuss matters regarding the other heirs to the pride. Their first visit had been a time for only her and she soaked up all of the positive words the God had to offer her. Now he had come, but with what appeared to be different intentions. He had clearly begun to develop an interest in the other members of the pride. Her fear returned, swelling up in the pit of her stomach. He had been losing interest in her. What if he had also come to her sisters offering the same council?
He continued to speak fondly of her, though Kasdeya prepared herself. She had already gone through the difficulty of speaking with Mahewa after his various encounters with the female. The jealousy in the pit of her stomach brought back memories of her last visit with Mahewa. He had reaked of Nasian. She had left both her mark and her scent on him. Kasdeya seemed to have nothing for herself.
Though she growled to herself, the female remained strongly postured, face free of the variety of emotions that plagued her internally. She did not fall so easily for the God's kind words this time, fully aware that he might say whatever it was that might get him what he wanted. As he mentioned what might have been bothering her, however, the female was taken by surprise. Her mouth fell open for a moment as she took a few steps back. Had he watched her that closely? Not even the members of her family knew of her troubles...
His final offer inspired something in the female that she hadn't been prepared for.
"I'm afraid I am not sure you would be capable," she almost snapped, eyeing him for a moment and then looking away towards the pride.
