「 ♫ 」 PERSONA ﹗ Staid, passive, grave – mainly silent, but can be enticed to speak, though never at length. He is analytical and distant, though at heart is quite empathetic, and will often internalize the trauma of others. When he does speak, he is very polite and formal, and is overall aloof and noble – which may give off the impression of arrogance, an assumption not entirely untrue. He does, however, care deeply for the welfare of others, though this might not be the first thing one might glean from his public comportment. As he has aged, however, Veerle has become increasingly petty and haughty – though given his relative silence in social situations, it can be difficult to discern these ill favored attributes. He is almost foppish in his dislike of messes, physical or emotional; he therefore tends to avoid close acquaintanceships with others, preferring solitude to the drama and tangled emotions of his kind. Still, though, he feels compelled to lend his aid where it is most required, and though he will hold even the most trivial of grudges until the very bitter end, he is willing to coexist with those who have invoked his fickle temper; if one thing can be said for Veerle, it is that his constant will to ascend to a position tantamount to his father’s had steeled his will and hardened his resolve, turning him into a tenacious and precocious beast, with a familiar fire to be seen within his eyes.
