The male looked around slowly once again leaving the gathering of the pride to explore the surrounding swamp. He had no real destination in mind only letting his nose search for soemthing intersting that when he smelt it zebra he hadn't had them in so long. He became excited as he crouched down as he searched out the lone zebra. His eyes caught the white and black as he smiled before sprinting off after it. Moments later his jaws were sinking into the flesh. He let out a very ferral growl as he laid his feast down to the ground before he began to tare it apart.
Once he was finished he pulled away from the mostly eatten mess seening his once white furr all bloody he tennced as he began to panic his stomach began to twist about as he moved quickly from his kill to try and wash off the blood from his furr before he would loose his lunch. The commotion caught the attention of a pair of creamy colored ears. Jaha-mnamo-Ukosa opened one eye, flicking her tail. Blood tainted the breeze that wafted through the swamp. Kosa ignored the offensive smell. She was having the most wonderful dream. She was a little girl again happily playing tag with her father amongst the golden grass. Kosa lifted her head with a groggy yawn, catching her reflection in the water below. She frowned at the old lioness looking up at her.
“I hate you,” she mumbled, eyes cold.
Her ears prickled, fur bristling. Just then a white figure splashed through the pool, distorting her reflection and darkening the water with the blood dripping from his coat. Kosa hastily stood, her weight causing the sturdy tree branch to creak loudly above the male’s head.

The males guard didn't faulter as he jumped away from the sounds of the other blinking water and mud dripping of the still bloody mess he was. He looked to her with his wide eyes before turning away to wade into the water a little further being carefull in case the water held any yellow eye'd demons. He then moved out shaking the water from his pelt his legs up to his knee's where covered in mud but he didn't seem to care.
"Sorry." He muttered softly realizing he had gotten her went. He closed his eyes not looking to her before opening the a little giving a small cough. "Umm you got..." He muttered softly before poitning to her cheek. durining his haste to get in the water and out and splashing about he had splashed a spot of mud onto her pelt.
Kosa let out a squeak as the water hit her pelt. Great! She found one dry spot to rest in this blasted swamp and this chump just had to come along and ruin it for her! She leapt off the branch onto a near by rock, digging in her claws as she landed to stop herself from sliding on the moss.
“I noticed,” Kosa growled, shaking herself off and sitting down to clean the mud from her fur. In spite of her unflattering state, she kept her back in a straight, lady-like posture. She had to maintain some sense of dignity and grace in this filthy swamp. “I suppose I was going to get dirty anyway. Do you know that I have to wash myself more than ten times a day just to keep the sticks out of my fur?”
She supposed that was a little harsh.

He watched the female infront of him as he gave a small blush looking away quickly. She was odd...acting all funny and she smelt funny to he couldn't put his paw on it. He boldly scooted closer curious he told himself. Yes that what it was. He then meet her eyes once again giving her small smirk.
"Least you have a pelt tht mud can easily hide on." He said as he looked down ot his own legs. "I on the other hand." He commented as he sat on his back hunches holding up his front paws.
"I think in my old age my fur will be staned with the color of mud." He said as he gave a small very forced laugh before looking to her letting his paw rest back agsinst the ground.
"You're a bit far from the pride and on your own." He said as he moved a bit closer not even notcing it he was no within reach of the female once against as the sent hit his nose again. Her eyes widened as it began to tease his nose. It was the smell of flowers something he hadn't come across since something to the muddy murky place.
She scooted away from him and gave him a flat-eared look. At first she felt insulted – her fur was certainly not the color of mud, but as he talked her eyebrows knitted together. I think in my old age my fur will be stained with the color of mud. She might have taken that as an insult, too. He very nearly called her old. And yet, he didn’t sound like he intended to insult her. There was something strange about him. She leaned back and lifted one paw, slowly putting it back down. “Yes…”
Why was he looking at her like that?

He blinked a little tilting his head curiously she was acting even more strange now he pressed his lips together a moment before opening them but quickly shutting his mouth trying to find the words. Letting out a side he moved his paw to rub his head before letting out a whine getting mud in his fur even more.
"I swear mud is a curse!" He yelled out with a huff before looking to his feet. "Its dangerous to be out here." He said softly seeming to show some consern even thought they had just meet.
Her face gave a little twitch, falling before it could start to form a smile. She turned away. “It’s no more dangerous out here than it is in there.”

He blinked a momment then giving a chuckle as he watched her giving a small nod. "Maybe you are right." He said as he turned to look at the water.
"It is less stressfull here then there though." he said as he closed his eyes trying to let the tension leave his body as well as the stress.
She gave a limp chuckle. If the air was easier to breathe out here than in the heart of spirit-talker’s land, she did not feel a difference. The humidity was oppressive.
Her eyes gradually drifted back to him. His posture was absolutely comical, as if he was trying to force peace upon himself by an act of will, but she could not smile or laugh sincerely. She scoffed. “You’ve still got mud on your face.” After a moment, she added, “You don’t look like you’re from around here.”
She wasn’t sure why she asked. Usually she avoided strangers in the swamps. Maybe it was his foolish nature that made her comfortable being around him. He certainly didn’t seem like the scheming type.

He shook his head with a small laugh. "No...Nor do I feel like I belong." he whisered softly not wanting anyone to really know what he was feeling. "Simply here to apease my sister." He said looking to the other female.
"We lost out mother at a young age and started traveling to find our father who lives here." He said trying to remember the words his mother had spoken to him.
"He is apperently a lot like me." He said as he looked at his white pelt. "But I still have alot of my mother in me too." He said smiling fondly thinking of the dark blue lioness who always smiled even to the end.
“Hmm.” She lowered her eyes. “My grandfather was born from the swamps. My father told me that it was his dying wish to see us return home. Still, it doesn’t feel like home, does it?”
She lowered herself from the rock. As her paws sank into the mud her ears fell back. Her face was stoic, but her heart swelled with the thousands of regrets it contained. She put all of her strength to work hiding her true emotions, especially from her family, yet the strain of it all felt so much greater when she realized how much she despised this place. Even though she felt unhappy, she never felt happier out there than she did now, in this cursed swamp. Going back was not worth the trade.

He blinked a moment hearing her words. He smiled faintly seeing he wasn't alone in thinking things of the swamp. "It does have its good moments though. I have meet meany new face's more so then I did out in the open." He said as his breathing began to quickly pick up as thought of his former mate flodded his mind as he began to grunt a little falling forward. It was getting harder to breath the pain in his heart getting to much. He closed his eyes tightly begging for the pain to stop.
"S...sorry." He muttered out to the other female before slowly opening his once again sad eyes.
"One can never run away from pain or the past."
She paused, startled by the male’s racing breath. For a moment she thought he was having a heart attack. At first all she could do was stand there, frozen in fear, afraid that she might be implicated in his injury somehow or that he had a contagious disease. Her thoughts drove her back, giving him his space. As he opened his eyes she realized it was neither of these things.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to say anything that would upset you,” she said, throat tightening with guilt. She stepped forward gently, uncertainly. “I’m sure you’ll find your father soon. This is a big pride, after all.”

He shook his head softly his breath seemed to calmer. "You said nothing it was my doing. This...pain was not for the father but for something else." He said not feeling he was strong enough to voice what happened to this day he had still not said anything about her our that day let alone talk to much with his own sister. He was shamed of it all and wished it all to go away but it never did it only seemed to get harder.
He let out a small whimpre and a growl he hated being so weak infront of other but he was tired from the long months of pain he had been put threw. His body slumped to the ground not even midning the mud now as he laid.
"Is there anything in life worth living for?" He asked the female not looking to meet her eyes still feeling to ashamed.
Oh gods, he’s really barking up the wrong tree, Kosa thought bitterly. He might just be lying to get her attention. A lot of males lied for a female’s attention. Ordinarily she would politely take her leave, let this sad soul bawl out his tears alone, as she would have wanted him to do were she in his place. That question unnerved her. What if she left him alone and he tried to hurt himself? Kosa sighed aloud.
“Oh woe and pity,” she mused, shaking her head as she lay on the ground beside him. Meeting his gaze as best she could, she said plainly, “Do you believe you’re the only lion in the world with a weight on his heart? Have I not lost both my parents? And what of my beloved cousins, who were my best friends? Are they not dead and gone as well? Is my mate not dead?”
Her tail softly patted the ground. She did not say these words harshly, nor did her voice hold any cracking sorrow, save for the last: a subtle tremble of regret. “Has he not left me alone? And you ask me if there is anything worth living for? Well, here I am!”

He looked to her blinking a little pulling himself up higher watching her eyes then lookinging down at his paws. He was being rude. He was making himself hurt more then he should feeling he deserved it and making others hurt because of his pain. He never thought anyone would be worse off them him which he now started to understand was quite foolish. Here this lioness was having lost more then him and seemed fine. She didn't look sad nor did she fall over in pain. She didn't even look like she rescented anyone for it.
"...I." he opened his mouth to speach but she had caught him slapped some sence into him and left him speachless. His words didn't come to swiftly either. Finally he just dropped his head from her attention.
"I'm a child aren't I." He said softly. "Foolish to think I was the only one in the world to hurt."
“A lot of us feel that way sometimes. You just need to find your own way to deal with it.” She opened her mouth to add that her granddaughter also acted she was the only unhappy little girl in the world, realized what she was about to say and closed her mouth with a thin smile. She stood before the other male started to think she was interested just because she was close to him. Males often made that assumption.

He blinked a little seeing her suddenly move away he pouted a little but tried not to show it as he looked away before standning as well. Why would anyone want to stay with him anyways he thought before shaking his head quickly he was doing it again. He took a deep breath before he began to walk once more.
"Don't be so rude." He said bluntly before turning to look at her. "Least giving me a name to know who has made me open my eyes." He said not trying to sound cold or blunt but it didn't work to greatly. "...in return I will give you mine." He said trying to make up for his words.
She looked back at him curiously. So was this all a big show to get her name? Did he take her for a fool? No, that was… paranoid. She arched a brow. “It’s a long one. Are you sure?”

He chuckled a little as he moved past her he started to feel c**k out of no where as he walked past her all stud like. "Oh please!" He said as he threw his head back.
"I shall be the judge of that." He said looking back to her his eye giving a small gleam but it wasn't really know as to why. He look like a mixture of curiously and a crule evil gleam of getting what he wants.
She blinked, snorting and shaking her head in despair. This one must have fallen off the deep end a long time ago. His sudden interest in her was most unwelcome. She certainly didn’t trust him. “You really think you’re something, don’t you?”
Suddenly, an evil little idea wriggled to the front of her mind. Her eyes lit up like swamp fire. “I’ll give you my name… when you bring me something that makes me happy. Otherwise, you’re not going to get it.”
Now what will he do?

The male turned to her letting out a growl. "I do not think you in any place to deman things. but fine what ever!" He said gruffly as he turned stalking off to search for something.
Kosa chuckled to herself once the male was out of earshot. A cub indeed. She wondered if he would really take her up on her challenge.
No, she had obviously created far more trouble for him than she was worth.
