So, what about Arlen Specter?

I'm sure most of you heard the news between the swine flu hysteria this week.

Arlen has been a moderate republican voice for the state of Pennsylvania for 30 years or so. Seeing that a younger and more extreme GOP candidate was being groomed to take his seat, Arlen chose to make a grandstand play and switch parties late in life.

Granted this insures nothing for the democrats. Even today, the senator voted against parts of the economic recovery package still on the table.

Will his vote continue to hold the anti-gun people at bay? What can anyone tell us about his voting record on gun laws? And will Obama's anti gun supporters try now to ram the assault gun law back on the book?

He can suck a lemon if he starts being all anti-gun and supporting universal healthcare and all that s**t.

I heard that his switch gives those, at the moment, socialists a majority.

I think the big problem with assault weapons is that no one outside of the gun rights community truly knows WHAT an assault weapon is. And even when they do, they're often against it. I proved this in my government class in an exercise about passing bills.

And I'm pretty sure all the people who shot it down voted (or would have voted, if they were 18 ) for the Obamassiah.
