I've recently become addicted to Shiny Toy Guns, though I hate them morally for destroying a perfectly good, ten-year-old song by turning a song about The Matrix into an emo love ballad. iTunes top played list includes (non-notable artists pruned): Where Everybody Knows Your Name (aka The Cheers Theme), by Gary Portnoy Hooked on a Feeling, by Blue Swede Send Me an Angel, by Real Life Jenny Says, by Cowboy Mouth and Who Can It Be Now? by Men At Work Yeah, I listen to some of everything and a lot of nothing. With the exception of the Cheers theme, I have never heard of any of those... |

black_wing_angel I'm a bit of a rocker/metal-head, myself. my top 3 favorite bands are Metallica Lamb of God Rammstein and not necessarily in that order. But, in the end, there are very few things I won't listen to. I won't listen to MUCH rap, and HARDLY ANY pop (if any), and so on. Although, being raised on Country, I have an abnormal tolerance for it, for a metal-head.
Rap and most pop is all I can't tolerate.
I love metal but not really Metallica. I do love Apocalyptica's versions of many of Metallica's songs and Van Canto's version of Battery though.
Rammstein, Sonata Arctica and Symphony X, I usually listen to when I sleep since I find them calming for some reason. XD |

Generally I go for metal with an orchestra instrument in it. Some examples are Nightwish, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and whatever else you can think of. I almost always like it. The mix of new and old just sounds so amazing. Why they don't commonly mix is a mystery to me, those types seem to sell well.
Also, a sort of happy tree friends type of music... not their music, god no. But a sort of... bloody smile. Preppy goth, depressive pop, whatever you want to call it. A typical hallowe'en candy laced with enough cocaine to OD, given to children. Think of it like that. That seems to be another favourite genre of mine. Examples of this include Strawberry Switchblade. Yeah, it's the only one I found that even comes close to fitting this description.
Other than that, I can't think of much else to listen too.

Oh, that song....I always just called it the caveman song.
And no, that's the first time I ever heard Hasselhoff's version. He has fallen HARD since Babe Watch Baywatch canceled. |
