Angani padded through the middle of the pride's lands. A nice meal tided him over, the lion was quite content with life this evening. He'd come to a variety of equilibrium on the power change, though he still felt bad for The Kin-- Unyezi to have had so much pressure put on him. He would always see the lion as a king, it would be difficult to treat him as a slave. Once Ang became loyal to someone... It was pretty much for life, unless they betrayed him in specific.
He let out a sigh at his own thoughts. Tonight was going to be a good night, he would be sure of it! A deep breath and his head was held high again as he padded outwards, looking for who-knows what.

Ukene seemed to have taken up permanent residence on the rock formations in the pride's territory these days; she'd quickly become accustomed to climbing onto the highest she could find and repeat Mitsuki's lessons of the day to herself. It helped her remember said lesson - or at least she thought it did, but perhaps it was just a trick of her mind that secretly made her forget everything she'd learned and replace it with something her own mind had made up. Hmm. Well, if that was the case, it's not like there's a lot she could do about it, right? Right! So it was probably better if she just let that thought slip away. But waaait, maybe that's what her mind wanted! Oh crap, that'd be awful.. Caught in this dilemma, she almost didn't notice the other lion before he was directly beneath her rock. And always glad to have something new to focus on (and especially so right now), the young lioness cheerfully called out a greeting: "Hello there! Are you a figment of my imagination made to distract me from it's horrid and quite traitorous betrayal?" She didn't think he was - he was a he, right? It was kind of hard to see from up here - but better safe than sorry! And besides, it's not like he could just ignore her after a masterful greeting like that.

Who-knows what was much more creative than Angani could've imagined. He turned and looked up to the top of the rocks, finding the silver (in this lighting, anyway) lioness perched atop. He turned around and padded towards the rocks again, craning his head higher and higher.
"Well, I don't think I'm an imaginary figment. I'm pretty sure I'm real," he said with a chuckle. He broke his gaze to look around for a better way up there for a bit before looking up again. "Name's Angani, you?" He asked. He recognized nearly everyone's face, but most lions he didn't have a name to tie to it.

That was good enough for her. The young lioness jumped down from her perch, careful to land on the softest spot (experience, not luck, had taught her where to jump) around. And not hit the newcomer, now that they'd established that he wasn't a figment of her traitorous imagination. Well, most likely he wasn't, but Ukene supposed there was always a margin for error.
"Ukene." She beamed happily at Angani, who was automatically considered a friend by virtue of having been around for more than five seconds and not running off screaming. Not that that'd ever actually happened, but she'd figured it was as good a way to measure the levels of friendship as any other and rolled with it. "But you know, that's totally what a figment of my imagination would say too. Except possibly with 'awesome' thrown in somewhere."

The purple lion backed up a little bit, allowing the lioness more room for landing than she would have had previously. He gave his neck a few quick side-to-side stretches to attempt to repair any damage done in looking up... it chased off the slightest hint of ache that had built up.
"Ukene," Angani repeated, moreso to himself than anything. "Well, I didn't throw in 'awesome,'" he pointed out in a jokingly smug tone. "Besides, how am I to know you're not all in my head, for that matter?" he asked, pondering that idea seriously. What a way to bend reality! "Anyway, I'm certain we're both real, see?" he said, giving her a harmless nudge. "I doubt a figment would be able to do that," he said simply with a nod.

She laughed brightly and nudged back. "Too true." She grinned again and made herself comfortable on the ground. "So, whatcha doing all the way out here, anyway?"

"Well, I'm not really here to do anything in specific... I'm a guard, so I suppose I'm just on patrol," he said. "Just finished eating, really, so I almost feel like a nap, but I was sleeping before I ate, so that'd be a bit of a waste of time to go back to sleep, don't you think?" He asked. No, sleep would indeed be a waste. Though, he had some time off at the moment, so hanging out here wouldn't hurt at all. "How about you? Other than pondering," he added, with a friendly smile.

A guard! How utterly fantastic; Ukene was feeling safer already and nodded along with a knowing mien to his words. "Well, I don't think sleeping is ever really a waste, really, it's very healthy," or at least it was for pregnant lionesses, because missing sleep could be all sorts of bad for your babies, "but that does sound a bit redundant." Which was a word she'd heard one of her siblings using and had been determined to try out herself ever since.
"Me? Oh, I was just repeating stuff. To myself, obviously, but I think it might help me remember it except if it doesn't, but it's been very helpful so far. I think." At least Mitsuki hadn't commented on anything, so it'd probably helped. "I'm an apprentice, see? But I've got a horrible memory, so I figured this could help me."

"Sleep has its place, but you've gotta be careful not to get too much sleep, too. Life would be boring if you slept all the time and never did anything else." Of course, Angani was so far away from sleeping his life away it wasn't funny. If anything, the lion was chronically sleep deprived. But he seemed to hold up alright.
"Hmm... I see. Seems to make sense. I'd quiz you if I knew anything that you were trying to remember," he said with a chuckle. "I haven't really had to memorize much of anything like that, it's good that you can challenge yourself that way!" Angani said with a nod. The lion wasn't stupid, but he wasn't book-smart either.
