Fresnel I've gotta try a .22 mag someday. Never had the opportunity. Seems like it might be a nice alternative for medium-small game.
Nice alternative?
My mother's friend took out a cayote or a fox, can't remember which, that was napping on top of a round hay bale, anyway, the round went through the front right shoulder, and straight through to the back left leg breaking it and exitted. It flipped the thing over dropping it Johnny on the spot.
Also yeah, for your hardy varmints you'd want a .22 mag.
Also, I'd suggest wearing hearing protection if you don't do it with regular 22, which you should, because it's a bit louder. First round I shot made my ears ring a bit.
Yeah, he has a Ruger Single Six as well. Loves having the two cylinders.
That .22wmr/20 would be a pretty nice combo. I'd like to get one like that. Is there one in .22wmr/410?

That's what was so special about it, is that generally it was 410 with the .22WMR, but my grandfather bought the 20 gauge version.

Nah man, hardy varmints was back in New England. Never seen a groundhog shrug off a baseball bat since then. wink
If it's got gunpowder in it, I wear ears. Note though that I've never fired a .22 short or a suppressed gun.

On the subject of .410, an American Tactical Imports rep told me they're going to start importing .410 soon and selling it at 1/5 the current price (in his words, 'a box of 25 for what a box of 5 would cost you now').

Nice.
I saw that Wolf makes a .410, but they're an all metal cartridge.

But it doesn't seem to be THAT cheap.
