The blood and white colored dog stretched a bit, attempting to fight his natural dog-like instinct to scent the air at frequent intervals. The smell of blood seemed to have sunken into the very earth. Everything always smelled like the coppery scent of blood. Normally, the dog wouldn't mind the smell of some blood, but the constant scent made his stomach roll. It was a nice place, as far as Koin could tell, but... with his circumstances, it did not seem so pretty.

Red eyes searched the grounds, as of old habits. He closed his eyes with a passing breeze, a longing feeling embeded within his chest harshly. He gave a sigh and let his eyes open and travel to sky. Dawn was approaching.

Devya wandered in his new home. He was unable to sleep this morning. He had been in the pride long but he could not say the he hadn't enjoyed himself thus far. The demons were very different from him pride, more rules and prejudices Devya did not understand, but he knew he must except. He missed his sister and mother terribly, and was thankful for one so young he was a rather accomplished hunter, though he still had trouble cleaning his fur properly and usually fumbled through the process.

Devya also noticed a very odd feeling inside him like humming. He'd never felt it before but now even when he tried to push the feeling down it would simply pop back up. Devya had now simply taking to ignoring it, figuring it was his imagination, or maybe his excitement. He really hoped to get his training from the king. It was what he was here for.

Devya continued to walk lost in his thought, he wondered where Sil'in Drathir was. He wanted to talk to him and had yet to have the chance to look where the king slept. He had been there for a few days and he was certain he hadn't seen him or maybe he'd just overlooked him. He was so caught up in his thought he did not realize he was heading straight for the wilddog.

With a flick of his ear, Koin turned his head to the approaching footsteps. He studied teh obiously young lion - dark in color. The darkly colored felines would make it in this pride if they knew how to rise up in rank quickly.

Koin had made sure he understood he basic runnings of the pride. Listening and learning as much as he could, even as a slave. With his nose twitching a bit, Koin tried to pick up the lion's scent.

Devya's head rose feeling as though he was being watched and it was then that he finally noticed the wilddog. It was mostly white, with blood red patches and if it had been watching him before it did not appear to be now. Devya walked over to the wilddog and sat before him. He had been feeling lonely as of late and was a little grateful to see someone else awake at this hour.

"Hi," he mumbled, "um you can't sleep either."

A slight look of shock crossed Koin's face quickly, but it soon disappeared. Maybe he was like the small Ellie girl? This lion seemed a bit more mature. He was older, that was for sure. The slave gave a small smile to the lion with a neon green visor across his face. "Not much anymore," Koin answered solemnly.

"Why can't you sleep, Young One?" Koin questioned. He looked down upon the lion, but his posture held a certain respect about it, along with a lingering fear of darkly colored lions. In fact, Nyota was this lion's age when he attacked the dog. It did not seem so long ago.

Devya sighed wondering if he should admit how he was feeling. He wondered if he would be looked at as weak and he wanted to be strong, he really did. However, he was lonely and the pride as much as he loved it, took a bit of adjusting.

"I guess I miss my mom. Nyota brought me in here, but now it seems I am a demon. I am proud of that fact. It means I might one day be powerful like Sil'in Drathir, but at the same time I'm not sure I will see my sister's again. I am not sure I even want too."

Devya did not say it because he did not truly wish to see them but because they were both predominately white, if someone form the pride saw them he knew they could be made slaves. Devya knew at some point he'd need to steal away and warn them not to stray to far and that he would not be returning home like he had originally planned.

"I am sure I will adjust soon though. Why don't you sleep?"

The dog's ear flicked at the mention of Nyota. So, the lion was brought here by the same lion who had brought him there. It seemed almost ironic, and Koin almost chuckled in a bitter amusement, but he held it back. So the young lion was a demon - though, Koin had already guessed.

Koin was saddened slightly by the customs in the Demon Pride. Shoving the young out so soon, just after they had been weened. It was almost tragic, but what could a slave do?

He listened to the rest of what Devya said. He gave a small nod. "It is good that you are proud of yourself," he commented. Koin wasn't proud of what he became, being stolen away into the pride. But... Devya, he could make it here and already accepting it was a part of him. He was slightly warmed to the cub, in a strange way. He felt a faint kinship to him, though the young lion was not a slave like he was.

Koin gave a nod. adjustment always came. "I cannot sleep whilst the wind, even a slight breeze, is blowing. Before this, it was my calling. To walk where the wind would take me. I feel a deep longing to travel again where the wind would lead. When I feel it, I become restless, so I don't get much sleep." Koin answered. He loved the feel of the wind, but with the light wisps curling around him, he felt caged - chained to the land he accidentally stumbled across.

Devya smiled, happy to hear that he should be proud of himself, for once allowing the excited humming that well up in side of him. He sat before the wilddog and listened intently to why he could not sleep.

"The wind is probably sad. I bet it misses you. Maybe you should play with it one day, just follow it for a little bit. You will probably sleep better. Maybe I can even go with you. You could follow the wind for a while and come back before anyone knew you were gone."

Devya had no idea whether this was aloud or not but he met two member of the pride outside the border as well as member of other prides outside the borders. He figured it wouldn't matter and to follow the wind did not necessarily mean one had to go very far.

"I am Devya, by the way. I am from Matembezi'Wasakaji. I want to be the best hunter on the savannah and hope to get training from the king. I can already take down antelope and when i am larger I will work on zebra and wildebeest. Who are you?"

"Maybe I should... I really do miss it..." Koin commently lightly. The breeze brushed across his fur again, and he closed his eyes to bask in it's attentions. The wind always made him happy, though he was still slightly saddened that his traveling days were over.

"It's a good idea. If you would be with me, it would probably be less suspicous..." He commented upon opening his eyes. "We'll not know until we've done it, right?"

Koin had only realized they didn't introduce each other. "My, you're ambitious, I hope you achieve your goals," he complimented. "It's a pleasure. I'm Koin, a simple traveler... or was." He gave a slight chuckle here, though with an attempted hidden bitterness. He did not think that worked well.

Devya cocked his head to the side and frowned. "Less suspious. Why would it be that? I don't think anyone expects you to go far. Would you get in trouble if you did?"

Devya moved closer smiling. He like the wilddog. He never seen to many before, though their may have been one is his pride. He sighed, days with his old pride were beginning to feel so far away.

"Nice to meet you Koin and thank you. Right now I have lessons with the yana'hine, but I'm determined to train with the king because he is the best. He trained Sil'in Drathir and he is very strong and really fast. He took down his prey with such ease. And that was still a while ago, a still very small. A cub hunting hares. He told me to come when I was bigger and stronger. I'm a bit early because of Nyota, but that is okay."

Devya yawned slightly, finally beginning to feel tired. It was nice to have someone to talk to.

Koin gavea slight unsire face. "It would really be up to how Nyota feels about it," he tolf Devya a little unsure. He wasn't there though, at the moment, but if Koin would get into serious trouble, then... He didn't know what would happen.

The splotched dog gave the young lion a small nod. Early...? He didn't question aloud, though, for sake of rather not knowing. After all, Devya said it was okay.

A lop-sided smile crossed his maw. "Getting sleepy?"
PostPosted: Sat Aug 15, 2009 10:59 am

"Nyota," he yawned, "very interesting." Devya was mumbling now, his eyelids heavy. He was trying to cling to his conciousness, but he was young and tired, therefore failing miserably at it.

"Very sleepy," he yawned looking over to Koin, "Maybe I should go back to the others and sleep. I don't know, what do you think?"

Koin gave a small nod. "You should sleep then - you're probably growing, and it's rather late..." He didn't know about lions, but his pups were rather irratble and sleepy when they were growing. "You can stay here to sleep if you would like," Koin said in a low voice.

"But it's up to you," He gave a small nod. He liked this cub - he wasn't the first to come to him or anything, but he had a rare feeling of calmness.

Koin's red gaze turned to the sky. It was rather late...

Devya did not know whether or not he was suppose to stay or not but he really had no interest in leaving, so he simply curled up. "I'm gonna stay. I'm to tired to walk back."

Devya yawned and wiggled about for a bit. Soon the wiggling stopped and his breathing became flat and even. He'd fallen into a quiet sleep. Time to await nightfall.
