[PRP] In Search of a Home

The night had been long, and the day was only just starting. For this cub and avian pair, the road had been treacherous and very difficult, but they had continued onward. The little female was not in very good health, but she was staying strong and continuing to follow the advice of her life-long companion. She had been paired up with her at the time of her birth, and often thought of her as her own mother. Of course, she was much more like a watchful eye or a nanny, but ever since the earthquake... The avian may as well of been her mother, as she had always been by the cub's side, guiding her along the way.

Bruised and cut up, the cub's once purple toes were now a deep mixture between red and brown, both colors from blood and dirt. Still, she walked on, carrying herself as best as she could, her bird companion at her side. The avian's feet were also banged up pretty bad, as she had refused to fly or simply sit on the cub's back. If the little one had to walk and suffer the broken earth's wrath upon her fresh toes, then so did the bird. It was only fair, and it showed just how much love and compassion circulated between the two of them.

"Just a little further, my child. We'll find a place of resting soon. I promise." The cub nodded her head, looking so sore and so tired. Her light purple eyes almost seemed dulled with a grayish color, and they carried deep bags underneath them. She needed sleep, food, and medicine for her injuries, but there was just none available... And her 'mother' felt so terrible for even letting the little one get to such a condition. She could only hope that their luck would get better soon...

She had ventured outside the valley early that morning to search out some of the herbs she was running low on. Thanks to the rocks from the earthquake cuts and scrapes were becoming more of a regular occurrence and she had to keep up with things. At least hunting for herbs gave her time to stretch her legs and think and Dizi time to stretch his wings. He got so grumpy when he had to sit around and keep her company constantly.

Laughing to herself at the thought of the small grumpy bird she poked around in a small patch of grass for the plant she was looking for.

He was ignorant to Askihi's thoughts about him as he spiraled around in the sky. It was nice up in the air for once and the morning air was always the best.

Opening his eyes he was surprised to see someone else out not far from where he could see Ashiki's orange form. Someone small. Letting himself fall slowly from the sky he took note of the cub and wondered how she'd gotten all the way out tehre alone.
