I have a few things on that list of stuff to bring on my (10% chance) Colorado walk that I don't have. Like... Do any of you know of a good solar charger that would work with an LG Shine phone and the standard MP3 player mini-USB connection?

Also, what about a durable but also cheap compass?

Everything else on the list I either have or would be easily attainable.

ThinkGeek has this, but I'm wary of ThinkGeek. Every time I order stuff from them, something is either broken or doesn't work like I expected it to. I saw something similar for a bit more at Best Buy, in the phone accessories aisle, so you might check there, too.

MilSurp is clearly the way to go. I'm trying to find a decent lensatic compass, but the search is a bit harder than I bargained for.
