Life is too short for FaceBook, Im not going to waste my time on another pointless website. Gaia's a dirty habit for me, i try not to spend too much time on it.

Actually I don't find facebook as much a waste of time as other websites. Sure the quizzes and applications are pointless (one of the benefits of the new layout that doesn't include applications on your layout page--people eventually forget about them,) but other parts are incredibly useful.
I've used facebook to find other people at my school interested in the same things, post questions I'd like to ask all my friends simultaneously, start groups so that members of a team can keep up, make events so I don't have to call each and every friend I want to invite, schedule classes with my friends...it's amazing for keeping contact with people! I personally do not do a lot of chatting online though. Someone actually found my meal plan card and was able to contact me through facebook to return it.

I lost my wallet on a bus a couple months ago and didn't even realize it until the girl who found it messaged me on Facebook. She actually ended up living a few blocks from me. 3nodding
