The goddess paced back an forth like a caged tiger, staring with intense eyes at the jagged cracks that had cut across the eggs before her. This was it, the moment she'd waited for. Validation for what she knew to be true. Males were nothing but the catalyst for eggs and the goddess intended to prove it to her mother. The male she had chosen was strange... exotic. He was precisely the type she had sought when first deciding this plan. She would create a variety of offspring and train them all to be perfect hunters and huntresses. Vesira could waste her years with one male if she so chose it, but Eriannia would prove that one need not be mated to anyone to create a strong following.

Another crack caught the goddess' attention. She was nervous, a feeling of dread bubbling within her. Why did she feel this way? They were eggs, nothing more. Why is she afraid for them? Why is she terrified that something will come for them now, in their most vulnerable moment? This was not something she was accustomed to and as one egg rolled forward she gasped, reaching for it. She let it roll forward, watching with fascination as a small white body poked out of it and rolled to her feet. A daughter. Eri smiled, watching the creature wriggle and blink its strange eyes against the light it saw for the first time.

Fluke was a yard or so away from the long-haired goddess, watching her pace nervously with a smile. She was beautiful, and he felt honoured to have been chosen to lay with her. He had been through this process once before, and he wanted more than anything to hold her, comfort her, let her know everything would be alright. However this goddess didn't seem to be the cuddly type. Quite the opposite, it seemed, he was beginning to see, much to his displeasure. He'd wanted nothing more than love from this woman, to fill the empty void that was growing with every one-night stand he was being used for. He gazed longingly at the deity, hoping with all of his might that she wouldn't hurt him as he had been so many times...

He watched with a soft smile as the first egg opened up, revealing a pretty little girl. "May I hold her, Erianna?" he requested almost meekly.

A snarl and a high-pitched crack caught Fluke's attention, and he turned, his eyes settling on the other egg. A tiny fist broke through the shell and quickly tore away the top of the egg, revealing a tousle-haired boy. The kitten glanced around momentarily, climbed out of the eggshell, and hissed at those around him.

The moment the first egg cracked there came a soft, delighted sigh. These were children born from his beloved sister. They would be protected with his life, if necessary. The god appeared behind Eriannia, wrapping his arms around her waste, mismatched gaze upon the son and daughter that now wriggled in the remains of their shells. They were both unique, but beautiful. Anything with Eri’s blood was beautiful.

Never once did the god look towards the male who had supplied the other necessary half. It was as if Fluke did not even exist. Simply a tool that had been used and could now be discarded. As if to prove that fact, Tihamar moved around Eri and scooped up the little female, denying the Freak any right to hold her.

“Ah, she is adorable.” He said with the proud air of an uncle. “And the boy has the makings of a great hunter.”

The goddess felt some of her fears dwindle as she felt the touch of her brother. He was strong and would protect her offspring more vehemently than her mortal lover ever could. There was no better male to help raise her offspring than a god, and she would accept nothing else. She caressed the little girl in Tihamar's arms and her face softened slightly at the child's happy cooing. She bent and scooped up the male child as well and was pleased with how wild the toddler seemed.

"I believe you are right, Brother. This one will be quite the hunter in time." She tried to still the child as she pondered something. Turning as if noticing Fluke for the first time she crossed the distance between them in the blink of an eye. Holding out the child to Fluke she held her intense gaze on him. "He is yours to name," she said softly, an air of foreboding to her voice. She would let the mortal stay for a short time, but she intended to take the children with her when she left. She would give the mortal this much honor in naming his own son.

[FINALLY FOUND IT OMG. xD Sorry for the delay.]

Fluke was appalled. This male who looked so much like the lovely goddess approached the mother of his children and wrapped himself around her. And then, just to irritate the festering wound, he scooped up his beautiful daughter... as if he weren't even there. He frowned, watching the goddess and her brother fawn over the children without him.

There was a sharp pain in his chest as a fear crept over him. Did he mean anything to her at all? He had a strong feeling the answer was no. He had simply been used once more to produce offspring and now that his job was done there was no more need for him. He could feel his heart breaking in his chest. And he had had so much hope for a relationship with the goddess... Sure, she was out of his league, but gods have flings with freaks all the time. He'd thought there was a chance of finding something more with Erianna but he could now see that there never had been.

With a heavy sigh he gazed down at his son, not bothering to extend his arms. "Serendipity," he said flatly, pain in his eyes as he moved them up to meet Eri's. It was a name he'd always wanted to give a child, after himself. His first children were named as a pair - Dawn and Dusk - but he had always wanted to name one after himself in this fashion. And now the child would always have a little piece of his father - his real father, he added to himself in the back of his mind, giving a hint of a scowl to Tihamar - even if there was nothing else he could give him.

He turned to the deities, sadly gazing at them. What would happen next? If not out of love then why had this woman conceived children with him?

Tihamar turned an unamused gaze to Fluke as the Freak was given the child to name. Nevermind. That was Eri’s wish. Tiha continued to hold onto his new little niece, rocking her back and forth; his eyes already filled with love whenever he looked down at her. She was magnificent. “What will you name this one, Eri dear?” He asked and he gave the little girl’s ear a playful flick.

It was easy to see the hurt in Fluke’s eyes. Tiha was not a vindictive god, however knowing that this creature had touched his sister, no matter how much he liked the outcome of it, still annoyed him. He caught the Freak’s gaze, mismatched eyes narrowed and warning the creature to watch its place.

"Serendipity," she repeated, stroking the child's hair. "Come now, let's not be so melancholy," she said as she thrust the child into his father's arms. She wasn't going to be satisfied with the male sulking around her children. She noted the pain in the males eyes and for a fleet moment she saw herself reflecting in those eyes. She remembered the pain as her other brother and father left the temple far behind. She had been so young and now she imagined that her eyes must have held the same look Fluke's did now. She softened slightly, reaching out and stroking Fluke's cheek and kissing him on the head. "It's a good name," she whispered. She let her sympathetic look linger a moment before turning back to Tihamar.

"Innana," she said as she walked back over to her brother and daughter. Her wicked smile was back as though she had forgotten her moment with Fluke. "Look at her wicked claws!" She used her own clawed hand to tickle and play with the child and smiled as Innana growled and clawed back. "They've got good genes. They'll be perfect hunters."

Fluke sighed and took the child, watching the others. He didn't care to be around them any longer. He simply wanted to take what was his and leave. "Look, Eri... you seem as if you'd like to have some personal time with your family. May I... go for a walk with my son?" He felt completely excluded and uncomfortable around them now.
