She was uncertain.
Niliua wasn't sure whether to enjoy the rank she'd taken in the Aikanaro'hini, or to resent it. Some of the cubs weren't wonderful, but they were bearable. Perhaps a little too eager to please, and the number of dead creatures they brought back to 'show' was irritating - you could only say 'well done' so many times before you wanted to lash out at the rats. But then there were some cubs she just didn't no what to do with - some weren't all there, or were outright crazy. And some watched her, as if...they knew. Nil snorted to herself - of course they didn't know. How could they? But she certainly had to watch her use of words around some of them. Whilst some weren't the brightest bulbs in the box, and she could harp on about Iartuupe and how pathetic he was to her heart's content, some were more intelligent and observant, and she had to watch herself. They might go tattling to their parents, and that certainly wouldn't do.
Bright yellow eyes cast down upon the cubs below her - Niliua had found herself a nice spot in the sun on a raised rock, and most of the cubs were amusing themselves on the savannah around her. The other Yana'hine were walking around, checking on each of them individually, but for now Nil was perfectly content sunning herself on the rock. She was in a good position to see every cub, so it wasn't like she wasn't doing her job. She was just enjoying herself as she did. Besides, storytime wasn't until later. That was when she really took an active part. Stories of Rhaen were becoming more and more frequent, and a cub or two even asked for them specifically.
She was starting out small. No mentions of Iartuupe yet, just stories of the lionness Rhaen, and how amazing she was. Iartuupe would be brought in slowly, subtly. Most of the cubs weren't well acquantainced with other members of the pride, and she doubted many would actually meet Rhaen. And even if they did, putting the story and her together was something she'd doubt they'd ever do.
Nil gave a contented sigh, stretched herself out on the rock. What a pleasant afternoon.
