Oh I get to vent my feelings about Twilight. I'll try not to make it a long rant.
-The books are alright (not the best, but alright), my favorite one is New Moon because we get to see her relationship with Jacob develop, and Jacob is one of my favorite characters. I hate Breaking Dawn though. I can't stand it. I love reading, and I never quit reading a book in the middle of it. But I had to with Breaking Dawn-it was just horribly written. Except for the part from Jacob's POV-that was my favorite part of what I read.
-I will say it now. I am neither Team Jacob or Team Edward. I am Team Switzerland. I don't really care either way which person she chose, but if you make me choose a team, I will usually tend towards Jacob. Also, with the books, I am hardcore Switzerland, but with the movies, they make me more Jacob, though I still retain neutrality (gees, it makes it sound like there's a war going one).
-The movie version of Twilight was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen when compared to the book besides Eragon. Twilight was horrible and I hope I never have to watch it again. Kristen Stewart is also probably one of the worst actresses I've seen in awhile. She's horrible at playing Bella. They should have chosen someone better.
-The movie version of New Moon was better than Twilight, and I think that's because they had a new director. He stuck closer to the book which made me happy I suppose. But New Moon was still not very good plot wise.
-Like I said above, the books are alright, but not the best. The way Meyer wrote Bella seems very stereotypical of women-that they are helpless and can't do anything for themselves. And also how Bella can't live without Edward and she'll do anything for him and she clings to him like velcro, but he is still all cold and rigid to her, even after he comes back to her at the end of New Moon. You would think that almost losing the love of his life would change how he acted around Bella and he would stick to her more, but no, he was still rigid and cold around her. Also, Bella would start crying or pretty much get down on her knees and beg him not to leave. I mean, come on! Who does that anymore? Maybe they did that centuries ago when the only purpose for females was to serve their husband, raise the kids, and have kids. And last time I checked, we lived in the 21st century. Then there's how she treats Jacob. In the book, it was portrayed fine, like she actually enjoyed being around him and it wasn't just to take her mind off Edward. But in the movie, that's what it seems like-she hangs around Jake just to keep her mind off Edward. And in my opinon, that is extremely selfish of her, and it doesn't help that she's leading him on, too. But I will give her a little bit of credit for being honest with him about how she was selfish and that she'll choose Edward. But still, The Twilight Saga is very stereotypical of women.
-I also don't like how all these girls are obsessing over it and they think it's the best thing in the world. Half of them (at least the ones I know) only like it because Robert Pattinson is hot, and they never would have read it if not for the movies. See, when I read it, it was back when people would call you a dork for reading a book about a vampire, and then it got turned into this huge franchise with all these fangirls and their obsession over it just killed it.
-This should be my last point. I hate it when people compare Twilight to Harry Potter. They are NOTHING alike! It's vampires and wizards. They're not even remotely similar. Apparently, they think they can compare them because they are both fantasy and have similar fan bases, but you can't. I mean, their plot lines aren't even close to being alike. And trust me, I'm a huge Harry Potter nerd, so I would know. It just really bugs me because you can't compare them.

It might be because I've been emotional about a boy recently, but I... thought Kristen Stewart did good! I mean, even though I hate how her character acts, I FELT her pain. I felt sorry for her. Everytime she said "Dear Alice" I felt a little choked up (much to my humiliation). I can only suppose this is because she is a good actress - if I had read the (beep) she said/did, I woulda been like, "Yeah right, get over it, you're so stupid" but in the movie she made it seem believable.
Also, I just loved HOW the movie was made. Perhaps it is called cinematography. Like the scene in the armchair to show passing time. That was great. Or the fact that the werewolves looked like werewolves, not huge chihuahuas.
Dislikes: She chose Edward over Jacob??? Alice's hair was un-cute till the last scene Jacob cut his hair.... the long hair may have looked stupid in the first movie but he looked good in New Moon crying If I never see Robert Pattinson shirtless again it will be too soon -_-
"The burning of a book is a sad, sad sight, for even though a book is nothing but ink and paper, it feels as if the ideas contained in the book are disappearing as the pages turn to ashes and the cover and binding--which is the term for the stitching and glue that holds the pages together--blacken and curl as the flames do their wicked work. When someone is burning a book, they are showing utter contempt for all of the thinking that produced its ideas, all of the labor that went into its words and sentences, and all of the trouble that befell the author . . . " — Lemony Snicket (The Penultimate Peril)
