The Underground City:

Door 9 leads to a dusty park in what appears to be a relatively modern city, the Underground City, more often referred to as "The City of the Dead". The park consists of a box of dirt that probably once held sand, a simple slide, a broken teeter-totter, and a rusty swing that rocks gently in the breeze, its hinges crying out for oil.

Despite appearing modern, there are no visible roads, very few buildings appear to be over three stories tall, and several of the buildings appear to have been partially buried and are run-down. Though appearing to be partially buried, the entrances to the buildings are rarely blocked and are sometimes placed oddly, such as one or two stories above the ground on some of the taller buildings. Additionally, none of the buildings appear to have a visible foundation, making it appear as though there is more to the building underground.

The rolling landscape is made up of dirt, rock, and patches of dead grass. There are no trees or other plant life visible and there are no obvious signs of life, giving the city a disturbing feel.

Intro:

Rebecca stumbled through the door in a haze and fell into the dirt, kicking up dust. She had gone through a door on the third floor, a door that should not have led to anywhere, and ended up in a half-buried city.

The noise that Rebecca made standing up, the subtle click as the door closed itself, and the squeaking of a lone swing were all that broke the overwhelming silence.

Rebecca stood up, her eyes widening at the impossible sight before her. This couldn't be happening, her thirteen year old mind told her, but she knew, even as she knelt down to gather a handful of dirt into her small hands and letting it seep through her fingers, that this was all too real. She looked up.

"Hello?" Rebecca asked tentatively, her voice hardly more than a whisper. She stood up, brushed her hands off, and folded her arms. Nothing. Only the sound of the swing, creaking back and forth. Biting her lip, the young girl pulled her backpack from off her back. She unzipped it and reached inside, pulling out the flashlight which she clicked on, shining the light out into the distance.

She immediately clicked it off. She could still remember the movement in the darkness beyond that door in the foyer. She put the flashlight back and rezipped her backpack, shouldering it as she walked over to the swing set and cautiously sat down.

What was she supposed to do now?

Minutes passed and a faint noise like a hammer striking stone came from deeper within the city. The noise lasted for only a moment and Rebecca wasn't quite able to make out exactly what it was. A short while later, Rebecca heard the noise again, though it faded just as quickly. Another few minutes passed with nothing but her thoughts and the swing's squeaking to keep her company. The noise seemed to have stopped. Then it started to rain.

Rain fell from the sky.

"Ah!" Immediately Rebecca's hands let go of the chains, her body sliding off from the swing. A quick glance up at the sky, a small groan, and she was off, moving as towards the nearest building with an open doorway. As she ran, she pulled her backpack up over her head to shield herself, if only a little, from the falling droplets of water. Fortunately, her backpack was waterproof to some degree, which meant that as long as she took shelter quickly, her sketchpad would not suffer any damage.

And she fully intended to find shelter.

Little mind was paid to the sound she'd heard earlier, the young girl being consumed with the desire to get away from this sudden change in the weather. Soon enough, she was inside and pressed up against the wall by the doorway. She bit her lip. Retrieved her flashlight.

And turned it on, illuminating the room she'd chosen as her shelter from the downpour.

The room was lacking any furniture and the black and white tiled floor was covered in dust. It was a rather simple, rectangular room. Opposite the door were two staircases. The one on the right was leading upwards to the next floor. The staircase on the left appeared to lead to a lower floor. The staircases were dusty from disuse, a few steps appeared to be in poor condition, and there was no railing, but they appeared safe enough.
