If we were to somehow inhabit Venus we had better get a hell of an air conditioning system installed. Even if we could get the clouds to go away that wouldn't cool it anywhere near livable conditions.

See, but those clouds are exactly the problem. You strip those away, and the insulation comes off. Even MERCURY isn't as hot as Venus. It's partially the sun, no doubt, but it's mostly the clouds.

Also, it should be noted that sulfuric acid is extremely hydrophilic. It bonds with water at the slightest provocation. That's where all the water went, because you know there has to be SOME.
