Same thing happened to me after beating Mothership Zeta. I teleported back to the Wasteland and an Albino Radscorpion dropped out of the sky. I freaked out hardcore.

I like to put my followers on a tall building, put explosives around, but not enough to kill them, and shoot them with the Gauss Rifle. End result: Splat.
