What had started as a passing thought had slowly snowballed in the God's mind and now he was seriously contemplating going down to the mortal realm. He wondered what things were like down there and he felt ever so slightly guilty for not paying better attention. He had let his memories and power lay dormant and unused for so long that they felt faded. He had almost forgotten how to teleport, which was quite shameful. He had certainly forgotten how to cloak his appearance, the vague memory of having done so in the past to bestow his blessing on royal couples was so far in the past.
He sighed and paced, no he couldn't just stay up here lazing about and sleeping it was time to involve himself once more in the world. It might help if he knew what in the world was going on though. His tail lashed behind him in agitation before he turned and set himself in motion once more. Moving about helped him to think and keep focused.

Teuli returned to these, in her opinion, desolate lands and knew the moment that her paws set down that she must have been truly desperate. Not only had she come back here, one place she'd sworn she wouldn't seek shelter from, ever, but she was even considering going back on the words she'd spoken to the goddess so many, many years ago.
She just felt so tired...
Had birthing mortal cubs taken so much out of her? Or was it everything? Or, maybe, was it just him?
No, she'd crossed that bridge a dozen times, she shouldn't be letting it get to her so much anymore, that wasn't it. Ahead in the distance was another god, she could just make out his white coat, and golden wings. He didn't seem familiar, but perhaps she had known him in her "past" life? Had he noticed her, and if so, would he crave solitude like so many gods preferred, or would he approach her? Probably the prior. Teuli turned to stare down the way she had just come from, debating what to do now.

Anupu tilted his head as he saw the Goddess appear ahead, had she returned from the mortal world below? He moved towards her curiously and frowned slightly as he took her appearance in. It wasn't that she wasn't lovely, for she was, and clean...but there was something in her eyes, and in her posture. She didn't look so good, like a great weight was pushing her down.
"Good Day..." He called out hopefully, maybe he could see what was wrong with her...and then maybe she could tell him a little of the world that he had foolishly ignored. He moved closer to sit down infront of her pushing his cloak aside with a graceful sweep of his paw.

She had just settled down onto her stomach, tucking one of her front paws in against her chest, the other laying out relaxed in front of her when Anupu joined her. Teuli lifted her head, one eye visible and the other masked behind long locks of head fur. For a moment she just took him in, quickly, but still, then realized she should greet him in return.
"Good day,"
Though the days weren't feeling -that- great lately, at least they weren't as rough as they had been. She should be grateful for that. More for the fact that someone here was being sociable for once.
"... Forgive me, but I can't recall meeting you in any of my past visits here, or past lives... I'm Teuli'ukilia, embodiment of Sacrifice. You are...?"

"Anupu, embodiment of Royalty" He answered before peering at her closer. Her voice sounded just as tired as her body looked. And no wonder...sacrifice wasn't exactly one of those pleasant domains no doubt the mortals lives had worn her out the way they had for him so long ago.
"You look tired..." He murmured softly, his eyes widened slightly and he amended quickly. "Not in a bad way...It just seems like you're overburdened? How are things in the mortals world?" He asked her curiously wondering if sacrifice was on the rise. Were the old royal families still intact? He wondered feeling further shamed for not being there, it was his duty and he had neglected it. He had to learn to let them go when their time came forming such close bonds to the royal families and seeing them die had torn his soul. With luck he would learn this time to savor the time he had with them and then let them go.

It seemed kind of him to notice, and Teuli couldn't help but offer a small smile.
"Anupu, yes, I don't believe we've met before. It's good to meet you." She answered first, politely, then addressing his concern. "Please don't concern yourself. If I'm tired it's only because I allowed my worries to get the better of me." Such a mortal habit, she had, and the strangest thing was she hadn't picked it up until AFTER becoming immortal! "The mortals... hm.... well...."
She glanced the way she'd come from again, tail calmly coming about to curl about her hind paws. Where to start, really?
"Thriving as always, there seem to be even more of them now than before, with more claimed lands to show for it. I stumbled across at least four new prides and coalitions or packs in my travels there since I awoke."

"I'm afraid my memory is quite hazy...but it's nice to meet you." He smiled before frowning slightly at her words, many worries...she was troubled then. "I hope you won't think I'm prying...but what has you so worried?"
He found himself wondering if this female-Teuli, maybe she could be a friend, maybe he could help her and she could help him. He would certainly need help if he went down to the mortal realm, he wasn't certain what sort of help he could offer her though. "More prides...new royals..." Hmm he had been remiss indeed. His expression turned guilty then troubled.
"I ought to return..." He murmured softly.

Well... this was almost a first. Aside from her own familyand Limbuko, she hadn't encountered another god to be so concerned over her welfare. She watched him curiously as he spoke, eyes discreetly searching for any underlying tones. If she didn't know for a fact that he wasn't the god of deception she might have wondered, but no, the little godling was still dwelling with the ghost walkers.
"Many things, small personal matters you needn't worry yourself over, simply ghosts of the past..."
She shook her head gently. Her love life was not something she felt at liberty to discuss with one she just met, though the concern was appreciated. It was nice to simply be worried about once in a while.
"I've taken over looking after a godling, just reborn a few months ago. Aside from that I've taken it upon myself to help protect two prides. It's not the most taxing thing, really, I just feel I'm being stretched so thin lately." She exhaled softly, gently disturbing the fur over her eye. "More recently I've discovered a pride that makes a regular practice of sacrifice. I should be glad since it means that out there is my domain's ensured survival, but... one of my children recently left to join this pride. Since then I've vested a bit more personal interest. I had always avoided such things before. To see mortals so young raised knowing that their only purpose in life is to die for their pride, some in hopes of redeeming themselves for 'past lives' sins..."
She didn't judge them, she never judged them, but having been mortal herself perhaps she understood, or felt it... a shame, though, at least they were given the right to live till adulthood, but to say it even that way seemed so morbid!
"I suppose I just have still failed to grow a stronger stomach for mortals habits..."
He had mentioned returning, though, so she took that chance to slip into a new topic.
"You seem apprehensive about it. Is there a reason...?"

"Ah forgive me, I did not mean to pry..." He quickly amended, he should have known it was personal troubles and not mortal affairs that had her distraught. Past ghosts sounded like just the sort of thing that haunted her lovely pale violet eyes.
"It sounds like your stretched rather thin indeed, the godling is among the mortals?" He sounded rather confused at the notion. Certainly not...what sort would leave a recently reborn god among the frantic and confusing mortals, without the ability to use or control all their abilities...how dangerous.
"You needed be ashamed of such a thing...I have been dormant for quite some time for the very same reason. I came to care so much for the royal families that seeing them pass became almost unbearable..." The great Kings and Queens, their royal children, each flaring like a bright star before their lives were extinguished before his very eyes. He felt his stomach clench at the very memory, it was so trying.
"I have not been to the mortal realm in so long...I fear I can barely recall how to mask my true form, or even teleport...such things are like a far off dream. I also fear becoming too closely attached once more, I hope that I can maintain an appropriate distance this time..."

"There's no need to apologize. I appreciate the fact that you're concerned at all." She offered a small sideways smile, then decided that the best way to help him believe her was if she stopped moping about it, especially so openly. "No thinner than the next god... I'd say... I think I simply tried to take too much on at once. Yes, though, he stays among them, I believe that they were his family at one point."
Finally her wings settled at her sides, tucking down just as feathered ones might, and she gazed briefly over his items curiously.
"I haven't been awake long myself, but I'd say at least a few years now... If you'd like I can help with what I can, with rediscovering some of your powers, and telling you what I know? I don't know if it would help much but I can tell you of some of the new groups. It's never easy... domains such as ours, I think, for we deal more directly in the mortal world than some others. My daughter is the same. We all need to rest once in a while."
When was the last time she'd rested, actually, she wondered? The period she'd been dormant and sealed from the world didn't seem to count, she hadn't felt any better for it.
Teuli successfully suppressed the urge to yawn, surprised that she felt so comfortable around this male, enough that she was even tempted to sleep. Sleep could wait, though.
"Just think of me as your tour guide, for as long as you need, and I'm able." She managed to muster up the energy to offer up a genuinely friendly smile.

"I believe I rested too long..." He smiled grateful that she was willing to help him, he didn't fancy the idea of having to ask for help at all but she wasn't belittling him.
"You are tired as well? Perhaps you should rest a bit before we begin any lessons? It seems like you returned here to escape for a little while, and here I am reminding you of such things all over again."
Her smile made him relax, she was so friendly no doubt she empathized with all those whose domains led them into close ties with the mortals. In so many ways it was not they who served the Gods but the Gods who served them.

"Well, Anupu... we have a responsibility to look after ourselves as well, and what will be will be. If you rested for as long as you did I'm sure it was needed. No good can come from pushing yourself beyond your means or emotional capacity, take it from someone who has learned that the hard way."
Time and again, she refrained from adding, but sent him a grateful look at his invitation. Rest sounded so lovely just then.
"I will be glad to show and teach you what I can, please don't feel guilty. You've done nothing wrong by me, if I didn't want to speak of it I would have simply said so."
Quietly she yawned, unable to stop it any longer while she felt so comfortable. Shaking her head a bit afterwards, out of habit, Teuli regarded the other god.
"Rest first would be appreciated, though... just for a bit."
They didn't NEED to sleep, really, but oh, she felt like doing so just then, she couldn't hide it. Somehow she felt it was safe enough to do so in his presence, too.

"You look like you need to take care of yourself, or perhaps have someone to help remind you to relax..." He smiled and slowly moved to lay down carefully folding his paws one over the other and letting his wings drape at his sides like a golden cloak.
"Come relax, rest a while and we can talk when you wake...that is perhaps the best start, first you must hear and understand the basics no? Before attempting them yourself...I recall some of my abilities by they feel distant, like unused muscles." He stretched a wing out and gave a soft flap to accentuate his point. Luckily his wings had responded well enough as had the rest of his body. Of course his form was not subject to the harsher taxes that those of mortals were.
He slowly rested his head on his paws. "Sweet Dreams, should they come to you." He murmured softly before silencing so she could rest well. He knew she would be a great help to him, there was no selfishness in her, no ulterior agendas.

She probably did, unable to recall when last she'd rested properly. Rumbling quietly in appreciation as they both settled. Getting comfortable with her head on her paws, comforted by the added warmth at her side, her eyes slid shut.
"Yes... you're right of course." Her tired voice crooned. "Sweet dreams to you as well, friend."
Just a short doze, that was really all she needed, just a bit of time to rest, then she could go back to her duties, both voluntary and not.
