What happens to the ring when a Sim dies?

When Sims get married they do the whole putting the ring on and you can actually see the ring. What happens to the ring when one of them dies? Does it dissolve? Does it stay on the alive Sim's finger? I don't know, can anyone help me out here?!

I don't know. If I have a married couple that dies and I see their ghost, I'll let you know if the ring's on their ghost finger and let you know about the alive one. I'm assuming that the rings stay on the fingers, but I don't know for sure.
