Mkosaji'Kosa lay lazily under the moonlight, bathing in its purity. She had a strange love for it, some would say an obsession. A part of her heart wanted to destroy it, to corrupt its beauty and innocence. However, her rationality told her it was impossible, for it was not alive. Kosa licked her scared paw; it was bothering her again. For what was dead tissue, it didn't feel so.

She hated it. She hated that there was nothing she could do about it. The pain would last an eternity, as would the memory of how she received them. It was a disgrace to her. She did not speak about it to others; her pride wouldn’t allow it. Kosa sighed. Life had been so boring lately, just the same old happenings. No wars, no conflict, and no familiar faces.

He slowed, because it was impossible not to notice her. He'd seen gods before, true, but never a goddess... the moonlight silhouetting her dark resplendence, she basked in the cool glow of the night, and brought Verge'lian to a complete stop as his icy gaze took her in. A magnificent creature, was she, but Verge was no fool...it would be entirely unwise to approach so darkly hued a lady without knowing her domain and her temperament.

But he could not go without at least that knowledge, and so he continued to move forward, not straight towards, her, but close...just off to the side, though he made no pretense of ignoring her, for he wouldn't insult her if he valued his life, for being what he was, Verge assumed no creature of the night to be benevolent.

Mkosaji’s eyes lingered, taking in her surroundings for another time. This time something had changed. There was another life form, one that had a resonance of impurity. She cocked her head sideways, and a crooked smile crossed her maw. The male’s pelt was beautiful, maybe she would skin him and take it as her own. The thought was pleasant, but her heart told her that it would not be wise. He was fated for something, though she did not know what it was. Her mood slightly declined, but she decided to take advantage of the situation.

“Do you fear me mortal?” Kosa let these words roll off her tongue in a velvety tone. She loved to show what she was. She loved how many revered it.

Ah, she had addressed him. A smirk appeared faintly on his maw, and he turned to face her, sweeping a paw out, curling one back and dipping his head in a bow. "Nay, not fear...but a wise reverence, I think..." He said quietly, low voice rumbling easy across the short distance.

"I have nothing but utmost respect for a deity of the dark." He cocked his head, watching her carefully so as to guage her reaction. "I am not precisely a being of light, myself..." For he was but half a mortal, after all, and the other half was not entirely wholesome, to tell true.

This one was smart; at least smarter than most. She swept her tail back and forth on the ground, continuing to show her crooked smile. Perhaps she could be entertained for a while, and if worse came to worse, she could always kill him. Though again, her heart gave a strange kick at the thought. She could sense something about him that made her incredibly curious. “What is your name?”

"Verge'lian, my lady." He replied politely, never taking his eyes off of her. She was quite obviously of a domain that wasn't to be trusted...gods knew that she was dangerous...and Verge knew it would be wise to keep up his guard around her, for his abilities would not do him any good when dealing with a deity of her caliber. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance."

Kosa stood. She smiled and sauntered towards him. “I shall call you Ver…I am not one who likes long names. My breath is wasted on better things than a name.” She noticed his gaze, but did not pay heed to it. She circled him very closely, taking everything about him in.

“So polite, an uncommon trait in these times; and respectful on top of manners. It seems you are rare in many ways.” Kosa made her way in front of him and stared at him with her blue and gold eyes. “I suppose I could tell you my name. It should not do any harm; after all, I now know yours. Mkosaji’Kosa. However, I do not mind if you shorten it to your liking. I do not see it as disrespect, only returning what I give.”

"Ver..." He wrinkled his nose idly, remembering when his brother used to call him that, an almost haunted look flitting through icy eyes. "Then I shall in turn call you Kosa, if you find it so fitting...and I suppose, on the tail of that, might I ask, my lady, what is your domain?" He followed her with his gaze, watching the way muscles ripped beneath dark fur. She really was a dark beauty, this one, but for the simple reason he resolved not to underestimate her. "It must be a powerful one, from my estimation..."

Sincerest of flatteries, those words.

She gave a slight giggle at his chosen name for her. Her twin often referred to her as that, as did most she met. It seemed to be most common, however, it was one of her favorites. She was very impressed with Ver. No one had really asked her what she was the goddess of. Kosa never did know why, but she figured it was fear. She softened ever so slightly, letting her smile become less crooked and more feminine. “My domain is indeed one of power. While my brother is of the light, I am of the dark. I am the one who holds power over Sin.”

His eyes lit up then, and he laughed, a low, sensuous sound. "Sin? Why I daresay I visit your domain with some frequency, Lady Kosa..." Afraid of her, no, indeed he was not...for death did not scare him...or any of the darker fates that might befall one. There was little that frightened Verge any longer, save perhaps losing his father, and that was a most unlikely circumstance indeed.

“Everyone does Ver, that’s why it is such a wonderful domain. Now matter how righteous, virtuous or innocent one is, they will sin at least once. No one can escape it. It is truly a beautiful thing...” Near the end of her sentence Kosa’s mind briefly drifted to a different place. When she realized this, she quickly pulled herself back to reality. Kosa stretched out her massive wings behind her and let out a soft moan. She had become rather stiff just lying about.

“So why are you in this area Ver? Perhaps family; or maybe something slightly more devious?” She gave a slightly playful gaze and smile. This lion would indeed be a great source of entertainment for a nice duration of her endless time.

"And then some revel in it..." He murmured, knowing that his sins were many and that for many, he was completely unrepentant. Eyeing the shift in her wings, he blatantly admired...for though she was a goddess, and he had an icy self control, he was, after all, male.

"Mmm...both, to tell true. I am on mission from my father...and I am in the midst of creating a dark pride...lions whose souls are the embodiments of the demons of the night. I think mayhap, it is a mission that you might approve of, Lady Kosa..."

“Your father? Well, you are full of surprises Verge’lian. I admire your loyalty to your father, and your honesty towards me.” A pride of the dark? This was too tempting to resist. She would indeed get involved with this pride; this mission. It would cause a stir, and perhaps lead her to greater things. Kosa let her wings hang loosely, taking in a deep breath before she spoke once more.

“Ver, am curious of this mission of yours. It was indeed fate that we met on this night. If you’ll have me, I would like to accompany you. I have time to waste, and I can not think of a better matter to do so.”

Oh his father would indeed be pleased...that he had won over a goddess, and to tell true, despite the obvious peril involved, he couldn't say that he wouldn't enjoy having her around. She wasn't dimwitted like so many that he met these days. "I would not lie to you...for a duplicit tongue is not one of the sins that seem to characterize me." He'd twist the truth at times, but never outright lie.

"And I would never reject your company, Kosa...for it will be a great pleasure and honor to have you along." Hah...should he meet Iar again, then they would see who was superior... power indeed, the power of the divine beings that reigned over these lands...Verge had not one god on his side, but also a goddess now.

“Excellent…you have made me incredibly happy. I have a feeling that this journey will be a splendid experience.” She walked to his side and sat. “We can go where ever you please, and at your leisure. I am not picky, and perhaps we shall meet others on the way.”

Kosa’s smile had shifted. It was no longer a pompous one, but a genuine heartfelt smile. She knew great things would come from this meeting. She had been bored and lonely for so long, that it was indeed a blessing that someone would want her company. “So Ver, tell me more about yourself.”
