Do you have an amazing recipe for the Sabbats, or just whenever?
A useful remedy or spell you use all the time?
Share them here!

If you have time to browse the Archives Subforum, there are any number of threads with recipes and spells, etc...

For Mabon specifically...

MABON VEGETABLE BLESSING

Can be used with any root vegetables you wish to have with Mabon dinner (potatoes, carrots, parsnip, turnip, onion, etc.).

* Wrap the vegetables in foil, then take them outside.

* Rake up all the dried leaves and branches into a pile then bury the vegetables in the pile before setting it on fire.

* As the leaves burn and the vegetables bake, thank the Mother for Her bounty by saying something like this:

We thank you Great Mother for all that you give
This bounty that strengthens and allows us to live
From deep within your earthen womb they grew
These gifts of love that sustain life anew
We cook them now in a blaze that surrounds
To seal in your blessings, which know no bounds
When all is ready and the cooking has ceased
We will give our thanks for this bountiful feast.

(Actual cooking time will vary, anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes or longer depending on exactly what you are cooking and how big your fire is. )

Want to have fun for Beltane?! Just ask the god and goddess to bless a bunch of spring colored streamers and then decorate a tree or plant. The colors of the streamers can be anything that symbolizes what you want out of time from Beltane to the next holiday. As long as these hopes are written on the streamers, they may come true. I use this one almost every year. It's almost like a make-shift May Pole. Fun and easy!!

I have been told for ear ache to take a garlic clove, and snip the bottom end (the part that had been near the root) off and place in the ear(open end into the ear) and allow it to stay, till either the ache cools or the clove shrivels

(this was originally read off the old ThriceRound forum[tis ashame its gone])
