“Thank you, sir.” The male’s hospitality had little effect on him. Mother taught him to be wary of strangers, though he never feared them, even when life drove her lesson into his flesh with merciless claws. Vu knew how to handle apprehension. He paid attention to his gut feelings but never allowed emotions to rule him. As they padded behind Ali, moving deeper into the pride, Vu nuzzled Mollie gently. He wanted her to know he’d be there to protect her.

The quiet strength of just that little bit of affection was enough to squash any hesitance in following the other male. Sticking close to Vu's side, she gave a silent, mental sigh. She'd get through this and settle into the ways once she had more information on how harems worked. It seemed like the females would act as sisters, though sharing a male. As long as he didn't favor them over her, she could work with that. Mollie missed her sisters, anyway. Missed the connection of a family. Maybe they'd find that here.
