As the 7th voter in your poll, I feel it necessary to respond to your question. I don't feel that penguins would make good astronauts because they will most likely be overcame by boredom. Unless there's a pool installed in the spaceship, that could keep them entertained enough to complete their mission, that an a constant supply of fish of course.
