Edit: Thank you for all of the responses but I'd like to add that I want a site that is NOT free but the cheapest and the best.

I want the site to display my designs on. [Wallpapers, banners, etc]

I've heard of godaddy, bluehost, etc., but I don't know which one to trust.

Please help?

Thank you!!

I'd suggest bluehost, I'm still in the process of making money for my own design site, but many of my friends currently use bluehost. My friend colby says its extremely reliable, full of space, and the price is great for its worth.

i used angelfire its free though.

Angelfire is free but its not your own domain. It'll just be "yourname".angelfire.com.

              @ dreamer: No problem.

I have space on my server thingie, i'm with godaddy and stuff so if anyone needs a temporary back bone let me know. o.o;; i normally charge so i can help pay for things but if it's just a general low-traffic graphics thing i'm more than happy to host a couple razz )

There are a lot of reliabvle servers nowadays.
I suggest:
    meekhost.com
    freehostai.com
bluehost.com (but I would use the two above)

If I were you just make sure the server provider has a great uptime, has most of the php scripts installed (if you're gonna use them; not all servers have PHPcurl for example), lets you create and use databases (preferibly more but that ain't that important, you could do with just one) and has good bandwitch. Also, it has to give you space, obviously. If it's a design website you'er probably gonna need more than the normal (and good bandwitch)

Just my two cents, hope I helped. I strongly suggest meekhost though.

I'd suggest going with a free host and then buying a domain. It's much cheaper that way. It's what I'm doing right now.

www.bubble.nu
www.so-pink.org

These two sites offer free hosting and subdomain hosting.

Good luck!

I know of a lot of free hosting sites, but they're not cheapo.

You can try http://adorabubble.com, http://bloodtodeath.com, even though the latter is on a hiatus.

Rawrpink.org is a good choice, too. Try Chanlu.org if you think your stuff is really good enough. Good luck!

I use myHosting.com
I like them because I like the online interface, they have good customer support, and support lots of different programming languages. They also seem to update the servers frequently, provide free traffic reports, positioning services (for additional charge) support Window and Linux, and much more.

They've got different storage/bandwidth packages, ranging from about $10 - $100 a month, dedicated email included in the price, and many billing options. I don't think they're as cheap as godaddy, but i also don't know what other features godaddy and the freebies have.
