I know that this is a bit early, I'm sure they don't even have their website up!
Otronicon is a convention that takes place at the Orlando Science Center in Orlando Florida, Usually sometime in January.
The convention itself is more for video games in general, i.e. The history, making, playing, etc. But it is perfect for nerds like me! biggrin There’s not much cosplaying, sense they took away the cosplay contest in 2007, but cosplayers still show up~!
The highlight is the stage for Rock Band. It's fully equip with stage lights, fog machines, lasers, and a full-sized drum set that works as the controller for the drummer! For a closer look, here is a video of me rocking as Hojo in the Guitar Hero contest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIJdd3O-hpU
Tickets last year were $15, I think, and much cheaper if you plan on going all three days. (Or ten, if they decide to do the massive 10 day non-stop gaming thing again!)
