Staring out at the rising sun, Jinan couldn't help but smile. She loved being outside whenever the sky reached the horizon, as it reminded her of herself, and she felt good and needed. She knew her place here in the pride better then anyone, but she still adored it, nonetheless. That wouldn't keep her from dreaming of her own prince charming.
She closed her eyes, feeling a slight breeze wash over her small face. She wanted some friends to play with. There were so many males running around the lands, but she couldn't bring herself to play with them. It just felt.....wrong. But she was determined to find a friend, even if it took until the sun hit the horizon again later.

The sunrise was so very pretty this morning. Suha sat by the den she shared with her vast and extensive family, watching the way the sky grew brighter and brighter, the warm gold line on the horizon rising into the darker blues leftover from last night. It was a sky just right for the start of a fairy tale, and the little Banu actually caught herself muttering "...once upon a time..." under her breath. Today seemed like it was going to be such a nice day... surely there would be no harm in going for a tiny bit of a walk. She wouldn't go too far...
Occasionally glancing over her shoulder a tad uncertainly, Suha made her way delicately through the grass and dirt, trying to remember to be conscious of her coat staying clean while her mind started to wander a bit. She hadn't met too many males in the pride, mostly just her father and her brothers, though she'd briefly met another Pad and his son during one of her father's amazing wonderful stories. He'd been very interesting looking, with fur like the sky at night, but she'd been so very uncertain as to what to do besides be polite. Even though he was her own age, it seemed like she might not be supposed to play with him, but it might have been fun...
...oh. There was someone there. Suha's ears perked up as she drew closer. Another Banu like her? She'd never met a cub that wasn't family by herself before, and for a moment as she drew closer she paused, suddenly terribly uncertain as to what she was supposed to do. But...it was just another girl like her... except she looked like the sky had gotten stuck onto her fur too. Were all the other cubs like this, with beautiful paintings of the sky across their pelts? She'd never envisioned falling in love with a boy who looked like the sky overhead... but looks weren't really the part that mattered after all. Neither, unfortunately, was romance. But it was still fun to imagine sometimes. Or... most of the time...
"Hello," Suha finally decided, moving the last few steps to put herself within comfortable talking distance without being too close, her black tufted tail curling around her silver paws as she sat, "My name's Suha. What's yours?"

Ears swiveling to the side, Jinan's eyes soon followed, tracking over to the cub that approached her. It was a first, seeing anyone with these markings, and Jinan's mind smiled broadly. She wouldn't show it on the outside, not yet, though. She dipped her head quickly, a small smile quivering on her maw, anxious about finally being able to talk to someone like her.....someone small like her, and hopefully this other cub was nice, too.
"H-hi there." Her eyes glowed, her smiled now pouring into them. "My name is Jinan." Her words were stuccato, taking great care as to not trip any of them up. Her tail lightly hung above the dirt, her crouching position frozen as she waited for the other cub to make a move and signal how this meeting would go. Jinan only hoped for the best.

Suha felt a moment of shyness when the other cub dipped her head, already growing uncertain when her greeting garnered no immediate response. But then the pretty sky-colored Banu did answer, and Suha felt a happy little glow rise quite hopefully in her chest. She seemed nice, even though she had such a very pretty pelt she didn't seem at all snobby or anything. One or two of the particularly gorgeous lionesses Suha had heard about, especially that one who asked the bird if she were the prettiest in all the land, seemed like the sort to flaunt how pretty they were in everyone else's face.
Not that Suha thought she wasn't pretty too. She had her daddy's creamy pelt and some of his markings in the same silver as his Sultana, and she even got bluish eyes like mommy. Mommy's were still the most wonderful soft blue color, but looking in the water Suha had decided that hers were good enough. But even though she was comfortable enough with herself, it wasn't the outside the counted after all, she rather thought it would be hard to rival fur with such beautiful pictures...
"Uhm..." Suha hesitated, watching the Jinan as the other cub watched her. So she'd said hello, and they knew each others names... "Do... do you wanna play?"
That came next, right? She could play with another Banu cub like her, it wasn't like a boy she had to be careful and respectful and polite to. Maybe they could play a game!

"Play?" Jinan was almost alien to the term that Suha spoke of. She had romped through the pride lands with her siblings once before, but it had been such a long time since that day. When it came to games, though, she was completely new to the whole idea. It had never been that she was afraid to get dirty, or afraid to hurt herself while out; rather, it was just a lack of friends to play with, as Jinan was unable to play alone by herself. It seemed to downright depressing, so she'd rather sit at home in the den, or at the base of a tree, then be forced to play alone.
"If you lead, I'll follow you." She smiled, a small glow on her face, proud of a first friend. "I trust you." It was a stretch, but Jinan was reaching out for the first time, and she didn't mind.

Suha tilted her head to the side at Jinan’s reply. She seemed almost…uncertain? Playing was something everyone did though. Right? Suha had played with her siblings a little at least, and had seen other cubs romping around with each other. Surely this pretty Banu with the sky on her fur knew how to play…
She pawed at the ground shyly when the other said she trusted her. It wasn’t that people didn’t trust her, she always did her best to be good and do everything right. But having someone say straight out that they trusted her…
“Okay…do you… want to play… tag?” she decided after a short while. It was better than hide and seek, because you couldn’t forget to find someone on accident. Except, with only two people, it probably wouldn’t have been an issue.

Jinan's expression to Suha's words was blank, like a docile animal looking up to its owner. "What's tag?" She smiled, wanting to learn about this game that the other cub seemed to know. Did all cubs know about this game except for her? The lack of knowledge didn't phase her, but she did feel the yearning to learn it.
"You can teach me, right?" She rose, almost wagging her tail like a dog. Games seemed to be the centerfold of cub life, and if Jinan wanted to be like other normal cubs, she needed to learn how to play like one, even if it took awhile to learn. "It'll be fun, I'm sure!" Her eyes lit up, waiting for Suha to lead.

Suha blinked, her own expression going blank for a moment. Jinan...Jinan...Jinan...didn't know...how to...play...? That...that was... that was terrible! Didn't she at least have siblings to play with? Was she an only child? Suha couldn't imagine such a thing, not with so many mommies around. Poor Jinan! Maybe her daddy had already given her to a Pad or something? It was possible, she didn't look exactly like the other lion cubs...
...actually...something about her...looked kinda...familiar...
"Of course I'll teach you!" Suha gushed, saddened slightly that her poor new friend had never gotten to play. "Tag is a chasing game. One person is 'it' and then they have to catch someone else, that's playing the game, and tag them. And then the other person is it, and has to chase everyone and tag somebody. It's fun."
Unless Jinan didn't like running around. She seemed so sweet and quiet and...and it was so sad that she didn't know how to play tag!
"Unless you don't want to run. Then we can play something else, there are lots of games..."

Listening closely to Suha's words, Jinan felt that she had been missing out on something amazing. "No no, tag sounds like fun!" Jinan really didn't get many chances to run around, as she was strictly against playing with boys. It was a moral she had determined when she was much smaller, and was probably because of a lack of her true mother in the pride. Her other mothers were fine enough, but she didn't feel as connected to them as she knew she would have been to her true mother.
"So, who's it?" Now on her feet, her tail swayed behind her. "And when do you know when the game's over?" From the description, it seemed as if the fun could go on forever and ever- a thought that really did appeal to the small cheeton.

Suha beamed when the other cub decided that tag sounded fun. Of course it was fun! Playing was supposed to be fun, that was how it worked after all. It was sort of sad that Jinan never had the chance to play before, but Suha would be happy to help amend that right now!
"I can be 'it' first if you want," she offered, "And it ends when we want it to!"
That was part of the fun of a game like this after all. It could last and last and last until they got bored and decided to play something else. Suha bounced forward, her chin down by her forepaws as she wriggled her rump playfully like she was about to pounce.
"I'll count to five to give you a head start," Suha announced cheerfully, "One...two..."

"Okay!" Jinan's face illuminated with happiness. This was going to be her first game played with a friend, and she couldn't be more excited. Her tail bobbed gently above the ground, the very tip loosely curled. Her ears were up, and she was ready to begin.
Hearing Suha start to count, Jinan felt her heart jump a bit. She immediately started off, rounding any tree that came before her. She hid a bit, at first, behind a wide tree. Her gray-brown eyes peered around the side, watching the other cub as she finished her counting. Her anxiety was rising, and she was so excited for the moment that Suha reached five.

Suha's paws danced eagerly on the ground as she forced herself not to give chase the instant Jinan took off. Her claws kneaded the soft dirt impatiently, her eyes fixed firmly on the other banu as she dropped into a crouch.
"...three...four...FIVE!" she cheered and bolted straight for the sky-colored cub. Games were fun, and new friends were fun to. Playing games with new friends was even better! "I'm gonna get you!" she giggled madly.
