In my experience, self-teaching can only do so much because you don't get real spoken interaction. I'm considering taking adult education classes on the language at the community college even if I can't pay for them with financial aid.

I have Rosetta stone and i just recently started and I am already understanding a lot of it... I also watch a lot of anime.... (I have over 200 gigs of memory used up from anime) and so right now instead of just constantly looking at the sub titles I can actually watch the story and understand it... I can not speak it vary well yet or write it but I'm understanding it and thats the main part XD
