I got to shoot a Kimber Custom II, apparently the Marines found out how much the LAPD liked their Kimbers, and built the MEU pistol off of it. I now see why!

I got to shoot a Kimber Custom II, apparently the Marines found out how much the LAPD liked their Kimbers, and built the MEU pistol off of it. I now see why!
The MEU is run-of-the-mill 1911s. The official designation is highly chanced to be changed to "M45 Close Quarters Combat Pistol" soon, as that is what recent documentation has been referring to them as while obtaining slides and other parts. Looks like any 'ol M1911 with skeletonized hammer and trigger, to me.
