Something I Love Yet Hate

When I think a particular band is terrible, and then they put out an album with songs I really like.

I rage, but it makes me happy.
So weird.

In my case specifically, I always thought 30 Seconds To Mars was a generic emo trashy band. Their new album has some songs I really like. I've also come to realize I greatly admire the singer's voice.

This ever happen to you fellas?

I know what you mean with bands. I was the same with the Arctic Monkeys - hate them since they come form my town and overplay their accents and are generally blaaarg,...but the music grew on me. Also the same fro drum & bass/electronic music

I really like a band and then they're new album comes out to be terrible so I lose a bit of interest. But that happens with a lot with bands in particular. It's and up and down thing.

So far that has kind of happened to me a couple times.
For some reason I'll find a band in their "sophomore slump"
Y'know when all the fans of their first album hate their second?
But I always like that second album, especially if I didn't like the first.

Happened with Panic at the Disco
Except that was partly due to the fact that I finally gave them a chance after them taking the exclamation point out of their name.
But I hated their first album.
And I gave the second a chance and it wasn't bad.
(Now it keeps popping up in shuffle and I'm sick of it though)
And The Killers
I don't like their first album that much but I absolutely love their second.

I only like a couple of their songs but the few I do like, I really like.

On the topic of 30 Seconds to Mars, I had never heard of the band before playing their song The Kill on Guitar Hero World Tour. I am in love with it.

I don't think there's been a band that I can think of right now like that. I used to be a casual listener to Metallica and only like a couple of songs, but after the recent CD release (Death Magnetic), I heart Metallica!

with 30 seconds to mars i like their first album best, then it sort of loses some of it's sparkle and gets a little dull to me.

Happens all the time.
I have plenty of songs I like that come from bands
I really dislike for the most part,
I ussualy have a love/hate relationship with those songs though,
since they tend to be the catchy kind that gets stuck in your head.

The most extreme case of which would be sexy-back.
Yes.
I admit it.
I actualy like that songs.
I have no idea why the hell Justin
believes sexy went anywhere or that he's capable of bringing it back
but blast it!
Occasionaly I just really like that song.


Also that song is so ridiculusly far away from my music taste
it's a wonder I even like it.

I just realised I dont actualy own it anywhere though.
huh.

Umm that's happened once that I know of. It was about Linkin Park. I liked all of their older, more hardcore songs... then they came out with Minutes to Midnight. I mean, they have a couple good songs on there, but I don't like the newer, soft version of Linkin Park. That's just me, though. Some people like the newer Linkin Park than the old Linkin Park. Some don't care and like both. Some just hate both. Me, I like the old. I've never been a fan of a lotta soft music, that's probably why though.

Kind of off topic but I checked out 30 Seconds to Mars.
Their lead singer is Jared Leto
He's the lead role in one of my favorite movies.
That makes that band much more awesome.

And they actually aren't half-bad.
I guess the one song I'd heard from them I just happened not to like.

Anyway, there are very few bands I like...That is, I like music and detach the music from the maker. There are bands like HIM, the Rasmus, 30 Seconds to Mars, Heart, Pink and Paramore that I like...and this has resulted out of very rarely hearing a song of theirs that I dislike.

I have a love/hate relationship with Brittany Spears and Christina Agulera...because I like the music but greatly have a problem with them...such as them being trashy old hoes and Madonna Wannabes....I dont really like her all that much either. I think they are all crazy.

Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorite movies.
I didn't recognize him in a music video until looking up the band itself since it bothered me the singer looked so familiar.
It's because he's so skinny in Requiem, his cheeks all hollow and his face is more angular, with his face fuller he looked completely different to me.

Yeah I have seen some disturbing pictures of him where he goes from really chubby to Gandhi skinny. For a while, when watching Fight club I could not recognize him because of his bleach blond hair.

WOAH.
He's like a chameleon, changing his appearance and hiding in different movies, shows, bands.
I didn't know one person could look so different.
He definitely looks better with dark hair.
