Let the wind tossle your hair. . .

The Mountain is the highest point in the lands where you can sit at an edge and stare across the pack's land. Watch sunrises and sunsets.
The Mountain is pretty much bare rock and you can come across the occasional mountain goat or at the base of the mountain some deer.
Eagles and hawks soar the skies and screech their songs as the fly.
The Mountain is not the place to go if you are afraid of heights.
Sit down and soak up the scenary.

Darshen
Caught between two worlds, both of which i'm an abomination

Darshen licked his muzzle, his tongue long and snake like, his muzzle encased in light blue scales. He scratched his shoulder with one taloned foot, lowering the scaley hind leg to the rocky ground. He flexed his toes into the mountain side, spreading his draconic wings, ears swivling back and forth. A misbreed. A monster. He licked his maw once more before launching off the side of the mountain, sweeping lazily along the clouds. He was known as the monster of these cliffs for a reason. An abomination. His taloned foot hooked into the cliff side and he swung into a large gaping cavren, landing on all fours, his slitted eyes adjusting to the darkness. His home. He had to duck his head so his horns wouldn't run against the roof.

>>>>The Tolling of The Bell<<<<

The Alphess strode to the edge of a precipice that looked out over the packlands. She liked this place, the wind tossling her fur and sending a shiver of thrill up her spine when the gusts howled over the craigy peaks. A toothy grin lit her features.

Alania was quite large for a female wolf, but it made her powerful. Being a female pack leader, she needed a few advantages over the would-be males that may seek to challenging her rank. The centuries under her paw of experience and familiarity with this territory made her the master of her element, nearly untouchable on her own terf.

The broad grin remained plastered across her face as she anticipated what was to come. She'd heard tell of a rivalry in her pack, a grab at power by two of the females. She'd met Asudam, the dark-furred femme from the graveyard, but the newcomer was the one she was curious about. Beta Female was not a role to be taken lightly, and what more, it meant making alliances with whoever came out on top. Who would be her second? But as with any pack, this dispute would be settled by fang and claw. She would not allow death to occur during the duel, but certainly some blood would be shed on this day.

With a wall of conifers at her back and a yawned chasm before her, she threw back her head and howled for the combatants. Low and powerful, the sustained note would travel to their ears and awaken the pack to the matter at hand.

The last few months had been rather tiring for Ysengrim. Trudging through woods, swamps, and other places he'd only ever heard of had taken it's toll on the blue-furred brute. His once well kept coat looked almost mangy, a small twig sticking out here and there from his now-shedding winter coat. His fluffy coat only helped make Ysengrim seem even more colossal; the 190 pound wolf was a rather chubby canine, standing at almost 4 feet. A testament to his ability to hunt small game, even through the harshest legs of his aimless journey, he never found himself hungry...on the contrary, he'd actually gained a few pounds, if that was even possible.

But now, here Ysengrim finally was, in what seemed like paradise. A wooded area with birds chirping, sun beaming down through the canopy, and the distant roar of a waterfall. The scent of many creatures was all around him, not least of which was the smell of fellow wolves. "This is the place." the wolf said softly to himself, "Here's hoping the pack here is as welcoming as I think they are..." The tubby lupine made his way through the woods, and finally emerged, orbs gazing upon the signature waterfalls. "My Gods," he thought, "It's beautiful...no doubt a wolf pack makes it's home there, though...best not to waltz in through the front door...best to just find a place to rest, and let them find me."

It wasn't long before he could make out the individual openings of the rock face not far from the falls, his tail wagging happily. "Surely one of these will be nice and roomy." Ysengrim thought to himself with a grin. Suddenly, he saw movement from the corner of his eye, his thoughts vanishing. Lowering his bulk to the ground as best he could, he squinted, trying to make out the source of the disturbance. Two long ears peeked up from a small tuff of grass, Ysen's stomach rumbling softly. "Rabbit..." he thought to himself, licking his lips. He hadn't eaten in a whooping 12 hours, and was rather ravenous. Unable to contain himself, forgetting he was still an uninvited presence on these packlands, the gluttonous Ysengrim bolted after the rabbit.

It seemed the sight of what would have seemed a big, blue bolder rushing him caused the rabbit to freeze in terror...or perhaps awe. At the last moment, however, it leaped to the left, leaving Ysengrim's maw to snap at thin air. Skidding ungracefully to a halt, Ysengrim dashed back for the rabbit, quickly catching up to it. The terrified lapine sprinted for one of the small openings in the cave, leaping at the last moments, the ravenous wolf lunging for him, maw opened wide....

Ysengrim gave loud yelp as he suddenly came to a stop, his maw snapping shut, darkness enveloping him. "What the hell just happened?" he thought to himself, whimpering softly when he realized he'd only managed to snap a small tuff off the bunny. A few moments passed, and the somewhat slow witted wolf started to piece the situation together. "I was chasing the rabbit...rabbit jumped into den...I followed.." he murmered to himself, his eyesight finally getting adjusted to the darkness around him. "Aha! I'm in the rabbit's den!" he exclaimed, feeling rather proud of himself. He could see now that the den was actually surprisingly large as well...a perfect den for him to take refuge in, actually. He took a step forward to enter, but the wolf didn't move.

"Hmm?" he murmured, looking back...and then it hit him like a sack of hammers. The entrance to the den was much too small for a wolf as rotund as he...he was wedged halfway in, his large hindquarter's sticking out of the rock face! Ysengrim placed a paw on his face and moaned. Here he was, hopelessly stuck in a small hole in the middle of nowhere, his butt sticking out for all to see...and a no-doubt smug rabbit snickering to himself.

"Why does this always have to happen to me?" the wedged wolf whimpered, placing his head upon his crossed forepaws.

Alania's ears rotated to catch the odd sound behind her. She stood stock still and tried to assess what it could possibly be. When her ears failed her, she turned and trotted into the trees, towards the rock wall of the mountain that rose still further above, it's peak somewhat shrouded in a haze of clouds. Feeling the cool, moist earth beneath her paws, she thought it odd that she had not yet come across the source of the off-putting noise. It was a dull, muted sound almost that of a whine. There was a scratching off to her left and she spun to face the source of the sound.

A rather odd sight indeed met her amber eyes. A rotund, furry bottom sticking out of a hole in the ground, likely a fox hole or burrow of some sort. The wolf tilted her head in curious bemusement and chuckled. The wolf's fur was a blue-ish tint, unique in a way, and not at all familiar to her. "Having trouble?" She raised her voice as assuredly the muffled sounds were coming from inside the burrow, where the front half of the wolf's body must be lodged and presumably he was listening for passersby. "It seems you're rather stuck, my friend." She shook her head and chuckled some more at the sight.

The wolf sighed heavily, Ysengrim having spent what seemed like a good couple hours wedged tight. He'd given up on pulling himself out...his ribs were too wide, and would just break if he pulled back too hard. The good news, though, was that the cavern seemed to extend out, various other tunnels running through the mountain, hopefully leading to an exit. The bad news what that Ysengrim's pudgy gut and rump were lodged tight, preventing him from moving.

Suddenly, he heard a voice, and banged his head on the roof of the tunnel. Cursing softly, he called out "Y-yeah...a little bit...mind giving me a push?"

Alania growled softly. She could just make out the wolf's response, muted as it was my the mound of earth above him. "A push? That seems to be a step backwards isn't it?" She shrugged and obliged, assuming the wolf knew what he was talking about and she wasn't sure if she even could pull him back out without inflicting injury.

The she-wolf braced her shoulder against his rump and hefted her weight to push him further in. At first nothing budged but then some of the dirt around the entrance gave and he slipped inwards. Curious that the hole got larger further in rather than smaller, Alania shoved again, making more progress now as she dug her claws in and flexed her powerful muscles. This guy was lucky she wasn't your average female wolf.

Aeria paced her way up the mountain her ears on high alert for something to eat. Lifter her nose in the air she smelled a deer near by, licking her chomps she lowered to the ground as she slowly moved towards it. Hunching in a bush she shifted on her feet before darting out and taking the deer down. She took her time biting into the deer feeling it's warm blood spill in to her mouth. Pushing the fur back with her nose she bite into the meat with delight. It had been a while since she took down a dear, lately all she could get was a bunny or a squirrel.

Slowly she ate her meat, savoring the taste of a good kill. After she was finished she sat on rear and yawned her belly now full. Standing up she slowly stretched, before hading to a small stream and cleaning the blood off of her muzzle a small grimacing look on her face. That was one thing she didn't like about killing something, was getting the blood on her pretty white fur.
((Sorry I havent been on school has about killed me...))
