waa'laikumussalam warohmatullahiwabarokatuh 3nodding i don't have any hadith to support my saying, but i understand that it's not forbidden to give gift, anytime, anyday - after all, it does made the receiver happy. (it's similar to charity, but little different in other perspective, i think).
As long as the niat (your purpose) for giving it just meant for Allah swt blessings.

*has the biggest temptation to write what Sami said all over the chapter in our Humanities textbook on happiness* Sorry. Moment of realization that I just read 20 something pages of absolutely nothing. lol.
And if he did give gifts, was there somebody coming along behind him with a sack to stuff all the bad-behaving kids in and dump 'em out in the desert? *chuckles*

I said someone else. Who's usually the one who gets the thankless task of being the bad guy and scaring kids?

Rasul Allah -PBUH- never celebrated with his birthday , and at his time there wasn't even something called birthday . And there's a helpful Fatwa from an expert website .

fancy hossasm Rasul Allah -PBUH- never celebrated with his birthday , and at his time there wasn't even something called birthday . And there's a helpful Fatwa from an expert website .
*shrugs* I kinda like that my friends come by and acknowledge the day I came into being by shoveling outrageous amounts of sugar into themselves as I do the same with myself. It's kind of nice. Sort of a day to let someone know that, yes, you realize they are alive and don't necessarily want to shove their spleen down both their eye sockets.
