um jay-z is my favorite rapper overall especially as far as mainstream goes. hard to explain, but half of waynes hottest lines come from jay-z's old s**t and well you'd just have to listen to jigga over time

It's hard to pick a best, because there's a lot of different things to look at.

Ability/delivery- R.A. the Rugged Man (For all those who discredit him, Biggie even said R.A. was better than him...thats respect)
Story- Nas or Raekwon (Immortal Tech is cool, but his flow gets kinda choppy)
Powerful s**t to Say- Mos Def
Structure/Poetry- I'm kinda likin Slaine
Rhyme Schemes- Old Em was great at this, new Em not as good, but his newer s**t is close. I think I'm kinda look at Slaine again. I'm pretty impressed by him lately.

There's a lot more to look at, but the reality is there can be no best rapper, because we all like different s**t about rap.

I sorta think Jay- Z is ONE of the best. But I think Eminem is the best overall rapper and then The Game is pretty amazing too.
