This is to be a thread for my near-famous demon family. All members will be represented and this will be their home. All owners please pm me any and all info you have on your demons, as that information becomes available. Also visit: The Temple of Demons. Anybody is welcome to post here who wants to rp with any of the faes listed here, just be aware that ANY member of the family may be encountered during the course of the rp.

The Horde: The 5th gen and below, these are the children who must raise among them to be a seen in the eyes of the family. Far enough from the starting blood they are still family, but not yet as worthy as their older generations Rules of the Hierarchy:- Each time Adonnenniel and Malis breed, it is called a “brood”. - A breeding from a member of a brood is called a “batch”. - A breeding by a batch member is called a “clutch”. - Broods are always higher in the hierarchy than the batches, and batch members are higher than clutch members. - Each descending brood is lesser than the ones before. - Each descending batch is lesser than the ones before. - Each descending clutch member is lesser than the ones before. - Batches by broods of higher status are higher up than batches by broods of lower status. For example, when Ashor or Pydra breeds, that batch will be lower down than Churel’s first batch, but still higher than the batch the newest brood may produce. - In the rare case of children being adopted into the family they are treated as a new set of eggs and will take the place in the family that would be expected. For example, Churel will adopt Chaluse when she and Marcus are mated, making Chaluse a “3rd generation, 2nd batch of 1st brood.” -In general, the older the demon, the more power it has.

The Values of the Clan ~work in progress~ These lessons are taught to every member of the clan from the time they hatch out of their egg until the time that they are invited into the castle to live. They must have learned these things and passed a test before they are invited in. It's sort of a right of passage when they reach adulthood for Adonnenniel to descend to the nursery and test them on what they have learned. (is not always roleplayed-that's optional. we assume all adults have gone through this) ~ Above all, family is important. Those whose lineage can be traced to Adonnenniel and Malis are the most worthy demons in the land, the strongest, the most sophisticated and clever. Regardless how we might feel towards each other, we protect our family from all dangers and maintain a level of civility amongst ourselves. (fighting one another in the family is technically not allowed, but if you are clever enough to keep it from Adonnenniel and Malis, go for it! Just don't get caught- consequences can be dire.) ~ The more closely related one is to Adonnenniel and Malis, the more sway they have. Those who are older govern those who are younger. This is the ranking of the Demons. (See ranking post for more info. Each demon is taught their rank and place in the family. Again, not necessarily roleplayed out, but can be.) ~ Only demons have blood pure enough to mix with ours. There will be no non-demon mating or breeding within the family or risk the wrath of the family. (pretty self explanatory) ~ Our family is truly blessed, for from among our ranks did spring the new God of Demons. (pride in the ascension of Malum. The family is taught that they are the favored of the gods and truly powerful for this.)

The Outside. The woods are dark and foreboding, the trees gnarled and twisted in grotesque forms that looked almost fae-like in their perversion. Many trails lead off into the gloom in a large maze of doom. Demons lurk the darkness, and only the members of this particular family know the way. Danger is thick in the air as eyes watch your every move. Many paths dead end at impassable gorges or thick trees, and some simply lead out of the woods into more sinister areas. One path leads to the black lake, and a few lead to areas that only the family knows.

The Castle. At the end of a maze of paths rests the large home of the Demons. The castle is ancient and huge, sporting many towers and a maze of rooms. There are many wings, only a few of which are occupied. As each member reaches adulthood and join the house they are given their choice of rooms. Only those that are mated gain an entire wing to themselves. Children are almost never found here, save for on very special occasions. The outside is black, made of dark obsidian. It's once-reflective surface had long faded and cracked, but was no less magnificent. Vines twisted their way up its surface, camouflaging it amongst the woods, as though even now nature sought to reclaim the castle for its own. The front doors seemed very out of place on the dark castle, being made of white marble. The inside, as vast as the exterior suggested, was poorly lit. The front hall faded into darkness beyond the light of the open door. The whole place is eerily silent. Moving along finds torches on their sconces lighting themselves as you pass. The front of the house is made for guests and gatherings. There is a large dining room and a ball room across the hall. The rest of the house if full of libraries full of books of dark magic, fire manipulation, torture, and other such subjects. Bedrooms for various members as well as a second occupied wing for the newly married Churel and her family. The upper levels of the house are similar to the lower level, but usually vacant. Below the house is the torture chamber belonging to Malis. He is known to bring guests to this very place, either to intimidate them, or to put the chamber to use.

The Garden. Few have come into contact with the members of this family without hearing about Adonnenniel's beloved rose garden, though few are ever taken there. In most cases, the secondary rose garden that surrounds the nursery is mistaken for this exalted place. In truth, it rests behind the house at the end of a long and winding path. A wooden door is here, set into an ancient stone wall that fenced in the area. The wall and door are covered in ivy and some creeping roses in full bloom. The door opens easily into an area much larger than the outside suggested. A stone path winds about the garden and in the center is an ornate stone bench where Adonnenniel is known to receive guests on rare occasions. Roses of every imaginable color and type are here, artfully mixed to create a pleasing sense of unity among the blooms. Here and there, a large oak tree stands to provide some shade and the trickling sound of water can be heard from a small stream that flowed through the garden, exiting through a small grate on one wall. A few other stone benches are scattered about, some in the shade of the trees, others in the sun. Birds flitted here and there, seemingly unaware that it was a Demon that tended this garden. The air is calm and peaceful, the area untainted by the wickedness of its owner.

The Nursery. Nestled in the deep woods surrounding the castle is a small but comfortable cottage made specifically for the shelter of demon eggs. Inside is also a table, a small kitchen, and lots of bedding. It can house as many eggs as is needed, and the entire area within and surrounding the cottage had long-ago been blessed by the Angelique Askala. Her particular blessing makes it impossible for anyone but members of the family to find the nursery area, using her powers over the dream world to create an illusion no other fae can see through. Even without this charm, the nursery is set in a large maze of paths with many twists and turns and dead ends, making it not only difficult to find, but dangerous to travel around. You never know what creatures lurk in the darkness. Around the cottage are thousands and thousands of red roses, tended by Adonnenniel. The hatched demons have a beautiful and dangerous playground- a first reminder that the world is a lovely and harsh place. The eggs and children never go untended, and the Eldest unmarried female in the clan is assigned the task of watching over them. It's an honorable assignment, but one that certainly can be taxing. There is almost never a time that there is no eggs or children to watch.

She was wary of Marcus at first, but he proved to be an honorable demon (as much as a demon CAN be) and was pleased to bring redemption to her life.
