Padding about, Dareia found herself looking up at the sky momentarily, groaning each time she noticed the sun climbing higher and higher in the sky. She attempted to ignore it, but only in vain - it was something she knew she just couldn't shut out of her life, as much as she wished possible. Daylight was as much as a lion's life as eating; and Dareia hated it. Ever since her "night wanderings" had started, she found it quite hard to learn to love the daytime when she relied so heavily on the night for her happiness and me-time.
Settling down atop a cluster of lush grasses, Dareia smiled, sitting back on her haunches. Only half the daylight left, she thought idly, glancing around with a bored flick of her ear. Hopefully she'd find something interesting to occupy the rest of her time in the just plain blah of the day - perhaps a new friend?

Cairo stumbled out of the den yawning. He seen his papa leave the den and the night and had followed him. He watched his papa talk to the stars, but frowned slightly when he noticed they seemed not to talk back. It was very awkward to him, but he said nothing of the fact and had simply curled up with his papa. Cairo laughed slightly remembering his papa's surprise.
His papa told him the stars had been calling him and that was why he was awake. He didn't understand, but he enjoyed the story is papa had offered about the stars.
However, last nights wanderings, had led to him getting a late start to the day. His mamas, papa and all of his siblings seemed no where to be found which left his all alone.
Cairo shook of the rest of his sleep and wandered forward into the pride lands in search of something interesting to start his day with.

Glancing about warily, Dareia had expected to see nothing of interest; as per usual. Instead, her sapphire eyes fell upon those lighter blue ones of a predominantly ice blue and brown-pelted lion cub. He seemed to be stumbling about as if he'd only been newly born; either that or he'd slept through half the day - a quality she found herself jealous of. But, being a daughter of the Sultan, she was supposed to act the part of a "hard-working" and "devoted" Pride member; meaning she had to get up the second anyone else arose. And she despised it.
Watching the cub with careful eyes, she smiled to herself. He seemed pleasant enough, so why not aquiant herself with him? Hopping up, she attempted to flick some of the remaining dirt and grasses off her fur with her tail, before trotting over to the other cub's side. "Hello," she said softly and with a polite air, not wanting to be too forward in making a new friend.

Cairo frowned at the new cub as she spoke to him wondering why she'd spoken first. He was certain he had never met her before, but his frown faded away and he smiled brightly at her. He figured he may not have know the rules, he quickly set to rectify that politely.
"Good afternoon. I am Pesar Cairo. May I ask who you are?"
Cairo stopped sitting before the young banu, his full, though still a bit sleepy attention were on her.

The frown that Cairo spread across his face took Dareia by surprise; why did he already seem so unhappy with her? When it was wiped away, replaced with a warm smile, she smiled back; the male's previous frown forgotten. When he spoke, Dareia noted, that he sounded even more polite and stiff than her father. It was strange. But maybe, Dareia hoped, he was playing some sort of game. In which case, she thought, she'd play along!
"Good afternoon, Pesar Cairo. I am Dareia, Banu to Sultan Aali." She bowed her head politely, stifling a giggle. It was strange to be so formal with anyone; especially another of her own age. Certainly, before, she'd spoken to adults like this - but some were even more familiar than some cubs she'd met - mostly the males.

Cairo kept his formality, giving a small smile. "It's nice to meet you Banu Dareia." Cairo stretched for a moment before plopping down once more in front of the little banu.
"You say you are from Sultan Aali harem. Than that would make you a niece to Banu Amani yes. I have met her recently and she is very nice. I hope to have a banu just like her when I am old enough."
He looked to Dareia happy to be meeting another member of the pride and extremely eager for conversation. Conversation helped make a good pad and not only that it helped him learm more about the pride and it members. Harems, family ties, traditions. Cairo wanted to know it all.
