I'll be honest, I liked Halo 3. The matchmaking was superb, so that even though the game is flooded with top-tier players, you only play against people ranked similarly to you. Though I'm not that great of a player, I found myself at or near the head of the pack most times, and climbing the ranks rather quickly. I don't have too much experience on the 360, as I only got to borrow one for one weekend, but I played through CoD 4 and Halo 3 twice each in that time, and enjoyed them both. I'm not usually one for multiplayer, but I gotta say, Halo 3 has some of the best out there. On a good day, I was even able to own my friends, who had months of experience on me. I've only done better in Marathon, and that's because I started playing that a DECADE ago. (PS, Marathon 2 is on XBLA if you feel like blowing good money on a free-for-PC game)
But if you want something new, The Saboteur looks like a really interesting game. There were a couple older PC-ports-to-360 that I thought looked interesting, but I can't remember what they were.
