It is complicated because of the diffrent sects got diffrent ways of praying. I really get confused if i'm praying right or wrong, if i do wudhuu wrong or right.

another question:

when you pray with your palms together at your chest does that count as prayer?

That may count as personal Dua(even then it is normally performed Palms up), but no I do not think it would count at all towards your Obligatory Five Salaat

how did you learn to perform the five prayers a day?

I used the internet, the vidio i linked you earlier was a really big help, as well as a lot of other websites. I just read and watched vidios and memorised it all(Just like every Muslim before me had to), eventually when I converted I simply asked a Muslim to see if I was doing it all right, he corrected me on some minor issues(posture what to do in Group Salaat etc) and i was fine.

so tell me what every muslim must know before they start praying
I know the first thing is to know how to say bismillah ....etc.

that I dont' pray five times a day like a Muslim should be doing?

I am muslim, it's just that my family , we're not really that religious, we dont fast as much, pray, or go to mosques at all.

I mean we have praying mats and a copy of the Qur'an but yeahh..

am I bad muslim?

salat ranks number one in the 5 pillars of Islam... and there's no way u can enter Janna without doing so... and in the day of judgment, u cant take ur family as an excuse..

My parents? I guess they only know how to pray Farz. that's maybe the only salah they know sweatdrop
