Sunlight sifted down through the sparse leaves of the tree, dappling the ground with gently wafting patches of shade as a soft breeze stirred the branched. The light splotched over the dark green fur of the young Pesar who lay beneath, avoiding the heat of the day not by swimming but by spending his time quietly in the faintly cool grass. Though his small body was relaxed and limp, his crimson eyes were vividly alert, fixed on the comings and goings of a busy anthill.

Anwar had been here for the better part of an hour, still as stone save for the ears that would, on occasion, flick towards some distant sound. He’d snuck up on the anthill, curious to observe exactly how it worked. If the ants knew he was there, then they wouldn’t act like normal. And whatever he learned from them would be wrong, and, thus, would be no good at all. Not unlike when he wanted to watch the other members of his pride, but figuring out another lion was a lot more complex than watching the ants.

Infinitely patient, he watched and waited and made note of the way they seemed to follow patterns. At first it had seemed willy-nilly chaos but now… interesting indeed. He only hoped no one was going to disturb their tiny lives while he was still trying to figure them out…

She had grown tired of watching the other pride members as they busied their days. She had actually grown quite bored rather quickly, as nothing of interest really caught her eye. It wasnt like the female to be bored, usually there was always something going on, or something to watch to pass the time.

Her tail flicked back and forth, the sky blue tail fluff touching the earth and swaying. She was a pretty juvenile, or so she was told. She looked like her father, and so it was easy to determine her heritage. She loved her family, and they were her greatest honor. She wanted to do great things for them.. She wanted to become something great, for them.

Her nose caught the scent of another, and she paused, her paws ceasing to walk. Blue eyes searched the area, and she wondered who might be lingering in the area.

Her eyes didnt search long before landing on a green and black male under the shade of a large tree. Judging by his stripes, she was assuming he was Tariq's son. Mother wouldnt be happy if she knew she was going to talk to him.. But within moment, shes was in front of him smiling.

"Hi."

A shadow fell over the anthill, and suddenly all of the patterns vanished in a blur of motions that, in comparision to what he'd been watching, looked utterly chaotic. Grand. He lifted acusatory eyes to see a young Banu standing there. Clearly, she had been the one to disturb the bugs. Something about her looked familar, though he didn't think he'd met her before... oh wait.

That bluish vizer, the one who was related to the sultan, she had the same mark under her eye but wasn't purple or the creamy-buff color like the sultan's cubs. Fiaz? Or Faze... or... something. He'd never met the lion, but he'd heard enough to get the impression that he and Anwar's father were not exactly on the best of terms...

Still. The last time a girl had interupted what he was doing, she'd all but dissolved into misery when he said as much. And he'd not even yelled either! Now, Anwar may not know this Banu. And he may not particularly care either way. But he knew better than to go around making girls cry, even if he were the one who'd been upset.

So, he forced a faint smile onto his features instead of the disappointed sigh he so felt like.

"Hello. I don't think we've met before. I am Pesar Anwar," he greeted, rising reluctantly to his feet. It had been much more comfortable to be laying in the shade, but it would probably take ages before the ants went back to the routines he was sure he'd almost figured out... he might be paitent for a youngster, but he wasn't that paitent!

She smiled, and though he gave her a happy smile, she wasnt the type to get severely upset at having ruined his ant watching. She just wasnt the type to get upset easily. Her sky blue eyes looked at the ants, and she made sure to ease aside. She didnt want to get bit at any cost. She sat a few inches away from the mound, and looked back at the other male.

"Im Arezoo.. Er, Zoey." She replied with a nod. "Pleasure to meet you Pesar Anwar." She may have been the daughter of Faiz, but she liked to learn. Regardless of the family differences between some of the pride members, she refused to judge based on that.

"What were you doing?" She asked, looking at the ants, and back at him with expectant eyes. Hopefully he would tell her what he was doing.. Unless he wasnt too happy she was there. But even so, she'd make sure he didnt dislike her!

Well, it seemed he hadn't upset her this time. Good. He was clearly successful in his attempts to understand how to deal with females. He idly moved his paw out of the way of some of the ants, which he'd discovered would bite if they could, and looked her over briefly. She was definitely a cub belonging to that other Vizier. Interesting, but he certainly saw nothing wrong with meeting her. Allies served far better than enimies after all.

"Plesure's mine, I'm sure," he replied politely, glancing down at the anthill as she asked what he'd been doing. "I was...watching the ants," Anwar admitted. Usually he liked to be a bit more closemouthed about his research and the knowledge he gained from it, but there was hardly anything else he could have been doing besides napping, and he'd have to be daft to nap so close to an anthill.

"Perhaps we ought to move a bit, I think they bite," the young lion suggested. Just in case.
