Kavaca enjoyed storms, normally. The sound of the thunder, the rain, the lightning, the whirling clouds . . . she found it beautiful. A little frightening at times, perhaps, but also beautiful. However, this storm had risen up quite quickly and was rather strong. Kava hadn't been able to make it to shelter on time and was therefore trapped on the beach. The rain made the cliff face too difficult to climb and she didn't want to risk the run to the trees, so she stayed where she was.

The rain didn't really bother her all that much, but she was starting to feel a bit cold and worried. The storm didn't seem to have any indication of letting up anytime too soon. She found a small outcropping of rock that she could just fit under and she curled up underneath it. It provided a little shelter, but not much.

It's okay . . . you'll be okay . . .

Kind voices whispered in the back of her mind. The seashells around her could tell she was nervous and were trying to comfort her. She smiled gratefully, and kept her gaze on the churning sea.

While Kavaca's muses comforted her in her shelter, Ayize was being told a different tale, the first rumble of thunder having him lift his head from the cold stone floor of his den. It was lonely in this cave, and he often found himself thinking of his parents or his siblings. How hard would it be if he asked to move back in with them? Would they think him cumbersome? Likely.

But when the sky grew dark and the storm rolled itself into a fury, he wasn't lonely anymore. His greatest friend had come to call, dropping a sense of calm and joy over him like a veil.

Come. It said, thousands of voices in chorus, Come play, child. In the waves, in the wind, see how we will make a path for you. Come.

And Ayize did, powerless, sliding onto his paws and exiting the safety of his home into the hard torrent of rain. Still, it was unfathomable that his muse would forsake him, and down onto the shore he went, his azure mane matting over his eyes. Kavaca, who was watching the sea, would soon be subject to a sudden addition of blue and seafoam at the shore. The lion was not shy stepping into the shallows, laughing under his breath as the waves smacked his forelegs, jumping back and rocking forward just out of their reach and just in time with their motions. Laughter. Ayize tossed his mane carelessly out of his eyes and continued to stroll down the shore, imagining the wind that ruffled his fur to be the many claws of his muse, playing with him and assuring him of their presence. Thunder clapped overhead and the male did not flinch.

Kavaca watched the waves with a certain amount of trepidation, hoping that no shells would be destroyed. It also was exciting though, because she knew the churning waters would bring new shells to the shore and she would be able to speak some of them. The rain pounded down around her, and though she was somewhat sheltered, her fur quickly became soaked. It wasn't very pleasant, but it wasn't awful either. She could always dry off.

A flash of color at the corner of her eye caught her attention. She turned to look and was horrified to see a lion, obviously another pride member, out in the water. Had they gotten trapped? She couldn't see him very well through the rain and because of the distance.

Her caring nature wouldn't allow her to sit still. Kava crawled out of her shelter and raced towards the other lion, running through the damp sand, calling out as loud as she could.

"Hello there! Hey there! Are you okay? Do you need help?"

There was a voice on the wind, though it could have just been his muse bending itself around one of the rocks. Are you okay? Do you need help? Of course not.

"I'm happy here." He told the storm in response, "Don't worry about me. Tell me, what should I do next?"

Dance. Said the thunder, and Ayize kicked up his heals and spun about, preparing to follow the beat of the rain when his eyes caught sight of a figure coming toward him. Another lion? He laughed softly, under his breath- had the storm sent him a partner? Happily, he came to meet her, bounding through the shallows and up the shore in a rhythm all to himself.

"Do you hear the music?" He asked her, his eyes slightly glazed with his temporary mania.

Kavaca stared at the male, completely confused. He seemed alright physically, at least he looked unharmed. So, he hadn't gotten caught out in the storm like her. Instead, it seemed like he was out on purpose.

As he came closer, she saw the look in his eyes and his words confirmed her suspicion. Having grown up in the pride, she recognized when certain muses take hold. This male was certainly in his element, so to speak. His muse must be rain, or more likely storms in general. That was certainly exciting.

Kava breathed a sigh of relief before answering him.

"Sadly, I don't hear the same music you do, my friend. But I am happy to stay out here with you while it is storming," she added. She couldn't just leave him alone out here. If the waves got any worse, he could easily be swept out to sea. Kava wouldn't let that happen.
