South Korean ship sinks near North Korean waters, North Korea may or may not have been involved (I get the impression that they were), South Korean ship fires at a target (possibly birds, but somehow I doubt it) in North Korean waters.
Think this'll escalate into war, or end up not amounting to much, like the other Naval skirmishes between the two nations? I mean, the others led to nothing, but this one cost a ship, and most likely killed some sailors. If it does escalate into war, will China get involved? North Korea can't fight the South alone. South Korea's military is easily strong enough to defeat the North, even without the virtually guaranteed American military intervention on the South's behalf. Without China, the North is screwed. Then again, supporting the North means fighting the US, and China knows it. China does NOT want to fight the US. Such a war is highly undesirable for both America and China. It would be prolonged and bloody, and bring absolutely no benefit to either nation. China wants to keep America as a trading partner, and America is best off staying China's trading partner.

Fresnel Requiem in Mortis For Christ's sake, can we PLEASE just blow North Korea up already and put the little man in his place? And then do the same to Iran? Oh right, we have a p***y for president, so it won't happen. Also, pissing off the country that has our balls in a vice is a bad idea. Imagine how ******** we'd be if China slammed down a trade embargo. they would never throw a straight embargo... they would get crippled to... they would just call in some of ur debt xp
