It was strange how for all the time that had passed since her arrival, Talutah barely knew the rest of the pride's guards. They were just names and faces, some were just faces. Living as a rogue for almost all her life had dulled her social skills and need for companionship. Being back in a social group had brought back memories from her earliest days with her mother and siblings and that pack of rogues that they'd joined at one point.
She missed her something-of-a-friend Phlegyas, who she hadn't seen in a while. Especially in moments like these, when she was bored and had no one to talk to. He was a very interesting individual, her complete opposite in some respects and that fascinated her. Alas, he was not around today.
Having just finished her rounds she was too tired to go hunting or just exploring. She didn't want to either. In fact she had no idea what she wanted to do. Something, anything. Yet her mind blanked and the dark lioness was left bored and just a tad grumpy. Nothing she came up with seemed interesting enough. The spotty shade of a tree offered her some relief of the afternoon heat as she tried to come up with some activity that seemed even remotely interesting.

Yaretzi sighed as she stretched; she'd woken up later than normal today since her shift to patrol the prides borders had been moved back later than what it once was. Not that she was complaining; it gave her more time to sleep... when her daughters weren't crawling over her to try and play with one another.
She smiled over at her small family and licked the two cubs heads before nuzzling Xiang and turning to trot out of the den quietly. She'd start by heading out into the grasslands first; That's where she liked to be the most anyways. The sparse trees were best to climb into and steal a nap or two
She walked from the cool shade of the den to the blaring light of the heated sun. She closed her eyes for a moment; letting her eyes adjust to the sudden light change so she wasn't stumbling blindly for the next few moments. Lifting her head she began on her way out towards the grasslands; a dark black cat catching her eyes. Damn... she didn't know her name... but she was a guard... she'd seen her before. But what was her name??? ack! well... hopefully... maybe... she wouldn't see her? with any luck. She lowered her head and started to walk by her; as if she was busy.
"Pleasant day we're having yes?" Yaretzi stopped. Damn it to hell. Her demon was laughing in the back of her mind. She hadn't meant to say that... her demon had. ARG! Now she was going to have to look a fool since she didn't know the other lionesses name.

Talutah was snapped out of her reverie, ears flattening against her skull with her surprise. A moment later her expression changed into a slight frown as she realised she had been sneaked up on. Damn, how had that happened? The black and gold lioness was just a couple of paces away from her, and for some reason she looked a bit uncomfortable. What was that about, she was the one who spoke first.
Composing herself and giving a small crooked smile, Talutah replied. "Maybe. It's a bit slow tough, don't you think?" With the pride being mostly nocturnal the guards often found themselves the only ones awake during the day. With the exception of some of the slaves.
She surveyed the other big cat, but for the life of her she couldn't remember her name. And that made her feel uncomfortable. Hoping the other wouldn't be offended she asked: "I'm sorry, but I don't think we've been introduced. I'm Talutah, and who might you be?"

"Oh thank gods!" Yaretzi let out in a breath as her whole body visibly relaxed. "I don't know you're name either." She laughed awkwardly. "I have a bad time with names... or faces... Mainly becuase I don't care to ask but I had a feeling you were a guard and some of the other guards get a little... touchy. If you don't know their names."
She let out a sigh of relief sitting down onto her haunches and looking Talutah over; trying to commit her to memory; even going so far as to repeat her name in her head. "I'm Yaretzi." She told her simply. "Another Guard; getting ready to go on duty. Not that anything interesting ever comes around in this pride... But it's better than sitting around all day I suppose."
Was she talking to much? she couldn't be sure; conversations weren't her thing. And she made a point of avoiding social interactions that would require conversations. Taunting; on the other hand; she could do.
