✩|| I read the book a while back, and I'm watching the movie in a few minutes.

For those of you who don't know:
The story is about a young girl named Anna whose sister, Kate, has leukemia. When her sister got sick, her parents had a daughter genetically created to be a perfect donor match for Kate. As her sister goes into renal failure and a kidney is needed for the transplant, Anna makes a decision which could tear her family apart; she seeks out a lawyer to sue her parents for medical emancipation.

I was just wondering what everyone thought of the book/movie.
Personally, I found the book to be very enjoyable...however it is very sad.
I also believe that it helped, and still helps, to bring the issue of cancer (and childhood cancer) to a broader audience.

Huh, I kept seeing that title everywhere for awhile. Always thought it was a romance. sweatdrop
Kinda glad I didn't pick it up though. Those types of stories always make me cry.

✩|| It was sad and it DID make me cry- however it was still an amazing book and well worth it.
I just finished the movie, and I must say the ending was COMPLETELY different and while for the most part it was good...the finish left me disappointed.

At any rate, I highly recommend at the very least the book. Besides, a good cry every now and then is good for you! Plus it was one of the things that helped me see how serious cancer is.

It's an amazing book, I've cried over it several times. Every time I reread the end, it feels like that's the only way the story could have ended, though.

I saw the movie and almost cried, but not quite. My mom wept.

I've read the book, and I have to say I cried reading Kate's only chapter. [Very last, Epilogue]

I'm disappointed with the movie, though.
Anna lived, I liked the book's ending more.

My Sister's Keeper made me cry. It was sad, and I felt the pain that I went through when my friend Max and Enu died. sad

My bf told me about it. He said he hated it because it was so depressing.

I finally got to see the movie earlier this summer.
I cried like a baby.

I do want to read the book as well though.
