Nesrin loved to take long walks by herself. The sun on her fur, that sweet feeling of independence, the clouds wafting so high in the sky above and birdsongs all around her; she loved the quiet beauties of the world. Sometimes she would walk so long that the world almost seemed to disappear and it wasn’t until the sun started to go down that she remembered she was supposed to be home. Her mothers always told her not to wander too far from the den, but sometimes she forgot. Feeling tired and hot, Nesrin stopped to rest under the shade of a nearby tree, her bright pelt standing out against the shade. She spread her legs out and lay on her belly with a contented smile as she soaked up the coolness of the earth.Mollie was on a break. All four of her cubs were asleep this afternoon and Vu was off doing what he always did. That left the dark lioness to wander and take in the silence of the day. She breathed in a huge breath and let it all out quietly, blowing her bangs out of her face as she rounded a bolder that seemed to be near the dens. Ahead of her, she saw a bright pelt; one of Tariq's cubs, if she remembered right. The poor girl looked hot. So, Mollie moved to the lake, which wasnt too far away, and filled a huge leaf full and tugged it towards her. Memories filled her mind. She did this for Vu when they'd first met; he'd been training on a day much like today. She brought it in front of the girl and blew softly on her face to see if she would respond to her.

The bright pink cub wrinkled her brow and opened her amber eyes. The sight of the larger lioness suddenly towering over shocked her, but only slightly so that she lost all notion of what to say. “Oh, um…” She sat up and blinked her eyes. How long had she been asleep?
A small leaf filled with water had been placed next to her. She blinked at that, too. “Oh… t-thank you, um… my name is Nesrin. Who are you?” she asked softly, embarrassed. She didn’t know much about meeting new faces. She would much rather keep to herself than stick her neck out to get to know someone.
Molemogi sat down then, and then laid on her belly to give the smaller one a gentle smile. "Molemogi. Under Pad Vu. I've four cubs about your age." Mollie knew how explaining things to cubs often eased their tension. Her green eyes focused and examined the pink one's pretty coat. It was so bright compaired to her own children's.

Nesrin felt a little better when the other banu spoke; her soft voice reminded Nesrin of her aunt Ukoo. She leaned over to drink out of the leaf. The water tasted good and cool on her tongue. As she lapped it up she thought of how clever Molemogi was to put water in a leaf. She never would have thought of something like that, but just as she was thinking that she thought of something else. Molemogi looked like another banu Nesrin knew. “Are you Zarha’s mama?”
Mollie nodded to that question and gave a happy look. "I am." It was a simple enough question; and really, Mollie hadnt taken to talking to many outside of her own family. Even the Sultan knew of her lapses in talking. The silence could stretch with Mollie, but she tried not to let it get uncomfortable. She was learning from her days as a cub. Maybe she should have talked more as a cub. "Who might you be, bright little one?" Yes, her voice was soft and soothing, telling anyone who heard her that she was, indeed, a mother.

Since she already told Molemogi her name, she assumed she wanted to know more. She looked at the grooves in the bark of the tree they sat under. “I’m just me. I don’t have a mother or father but I live with one of the Viziers.” That was an easy way of explaining her situation. She would rather avoid the messy relationship between Tariq’ra’d and her mother, what she knew of it. Traiq’ra’d ignored her mostly. His other banus were usually quite nice to her, especially Ukoo, so she supposed she could call them her mothers, although that might only complicate things.
So her suspisions were confirmed. This was indeed one of the cubs whispered about in the shadows, behind their backs. The poor girl. She didn't do anything except live and she already had a bad reputation. With a little nod, those green eyes turned even softer and she nosed the other's chin a bit, examining her. "I used to see your mother about," she said quietly. "I've... never spoken to her. But I've seen her." She licked her muzzle after a minute and gave a comforting noise. "If you need.... or just want to talk, or get away from Tariq'ra'd, you can come to my den. I'll take care of you." Sure, Mollie's heart grew when she had cubs, and it was forever expanding because of maternal instict. She knew it couldn't be easy for her and her siblings. "You and any of your pink and yellow siblings."

Why did everyone think there was something wrong with her? She could understand about her parents. What her mother did was quite shameful, so disobedient. Those that didn’t turn up their nose seemed to have nothing but endless pity for her. Her gloomy disposition was no help. “Traiq mostly leaves us alone. I don’t think he even notices me…” she sighed softly. “Thank you for the offer. I just don’t talk much.”
Mollie nodded to the quiet words and laughed. So much like herself it was puzzling. "I'm like that, too," she said, crossing her front paws over one another, getting comfortable in the shade. Her tail thumped, kicking up dust. "I wasn't noticed by my father and never knew my mother." It wasn't that she took pi... well, she did, but that's not why she did it. Not the only reason, anyway. Maybe Harb would take her as a Banu. "Being left alone made me smarter than my siblings."
