Lana
Jvalana was bored.

But then again, what was new?

The young lionness sighed softly, rolling the pebble in front of her across the sand, along the path that had been worn - it was clear she'd been playing this game for a while. However, Lana's bright young mind wasn't happy to settle for this game - no, she could do far more interesting things with this pebble. Pulling herself up, the plucking the pebble from the ground, trotting off in search of a more fun game. Maybe she could drop it on something, and then way them writhe in pain! Oh, that might be fun!

Her mind made up, the fiery-coloured female bounded off towards the rock outcrop she knew some of the Firekin liked to sleep under.

Cani
With the onset of his most recent growth, Canicus was starting to become all legs. It had been awkward at first, but over time he had slowly gotten used to the larger size his body is growing into. While he was no where near getting a full mane, it wouldn't be long before he was just as tall, if not taller than his parents! The very thought made his mouth curl up in glee before his eyelids lowered slightly as his head was resting on his paws.

Oh how annoyed he was at the moment. His siblings were infuriating! And thus, he was off on his own, like he usually was, trying to blow off the steam. But it usually never worked out since alone, he would just focus on what he was annoyed about in the first place.

His tail flicked back and forth, moving the sand with each movement.

Lana
Lana clambered up the rocks with a little difficulty, claws scratching at the rock, creating a sound that was sore to her ears. However, her muscles were growing, and the rocky face that she would have been unable to climb a few weeks ago was suddenly scaleable, as was proved as the juvenile pulled herself over the top edge. The pebble was still gripped tightly in her maw, the lionness refusing to let it go.

She wasn't huge - Jvalana had a nasty feeling she was going to turn out more like her mother than her father, which wasn't at all what she wanted. Her mother was a pathetic excuse for a Firekin - she didn't want to be anything like her. Her father was perfect, he was amazing in every way. She wanted to be as big and strong as he was.

Crawling forwards, she peeked over the top of the outcrop, and was dismayed to find no lions sleeping underneath it. Trust her luck, to find no lions to enact her plan on when she needed them! There were always lions under there when she wanted to nap there, in the shade provided by the outcrop. Ugh.

And then something caught her eye - a red shape moving across the sand. It would require some accuracy, but she might just be able to catch the lion as he moved under the outcrop... She hadn't noticed it was Canicus, too focussed on position the pebble just right...

Once he'd moved into what was hopefully the opportune position, she edged the pebble forwards with a grin, allowing it to roll of the edge.

Cani
Unaware of what was about to occur, Canicus was oblivious to the scheming female close by. His mind was elsewhere, as his face was all scrunched up and unhappy.

And then, a few sand grits fell on his head as he blinked back his surprise. Why was sand falling from the sky? He didn't even get to finish thinking his thought as his back was pelted with a hard object.

A loud hiss escaped his mouth as he whipped around, trying to find out what hit him. His eyes landed on the rock as he felt himself get upset. What the heck? He snarled angrily as he looked around for the perpetrator. "WHO DID THIS?!"

Lana
She'd hit! She'd hit!

Rolling onto her back, the young lionness burst into a fit of laughter, making it fairly obvious to the red juvenile where the perpatrator was. It was a few moments after she'd heard Canicus' angry yell that it finally clicked in Jvalana's mind, however, the lionness rolling back onto her front and creeping forwards with a frown, sticking her head over the edge to look down and see properly who it was. Surely it couldn't be...

But it was!

She burst into giggles again, waving to the boy, "Hey Canicus! You look...bigger."

Ohhh, was he bigger now? She'd liked being bigger. Lana frowned, ears drooping.

Cani
After a few failed attempts of finding anyone in the vicinity, Canicus was getting exceedingly frustrated. Who was the coward that was hiding?!

A voice broke his angry train of thoughts as his whole body froze. No. It couldn't be! Why was it her?! WHY!! He hadn't seen her in a while and their last get together ended rather poorly. The events all started to flood back into his mind as he looked at her.

It wasn't until then that he realized just how much he had grown since their last encounter. He wasn't as tiny next to Lana any longer. No, he was bigger now! That thought made his insides twist in pleasure before he spat out, "Of course I am."

Lana
Oh, so he was bigger, it wasn't just the height she was at? But then again, surely that would make him seem smaller. Ohhh, she'd liked behind bigger. Ears still flopped against her head a little sadly, Lana tilted her head, glad she had the chance to talk to Cani again - she hadn't seen him in a while. She shuffled forwards again, frowning as she considered jumping down. It was quite a long way...

...She hadn't actually thought about how she was going to get down.

The rocky face she'd clambered up had been really steep - she'd struggled getting up it, and getting down was more difficult. ...Oh dear. She glanced behind her, and to each side, searching for a way to get down. Nothing.

"Uhh..." she mumbled, not wanting to ask Cani for help. She didn't want to seem weak, she was perfectly smart enough to figure this out for herself!

Cani
His ears laid flat against his head as he could only imagine what this day was going to turn out as. It had already started out poorly and with Lana here, it could only get worse. He wasn't the most social lion out there in the pride, surely there were other, more interesting and friendly lions that she could play with? Why did she have to pick him to harass? Although since they parted from their last encounter, his days did seem to drag on and he was unsure as to why.

An eye flicked lazily up in her direction, "You always do seem to find the best times to annoy me." He proclaimed in earnest. After a few moments of watching her, he realized something and laughed loudly. Oh dear, this was priceless! It appeared that Lana was stuck up there. Amusement was written all over his face as he sat down and looked fully at her. "Well? Are you going to come down here and annoy me?"

Lana
Best times to annoy him? She managed a sneer-like grin, scratching lightly at the rock beneath her, "It's a talent of mine."

Oh, had he realized she was stuck? She couldn't see him well enough to make out his facial expression, but the way he was asking if she was coming down made it clear he'd realized. He was playing with her, wanting to hear her say that she was stuck. Oh, but she didn't want to! Unfortunately, however, she didn't put it past Cani to leave her up here all night by wandering off.

"...I'm stuck," she grumbled, glancing over the side for the second time to try and find a way down, "...Can you help me find a way down?" she eventually asked, finding no other solution. It was fine, she'd just deny it if he told anyone.

Cani
He was about to grumble some snide remark to match her own when his eyes widen slightly at her confession. Now, this was clearly very unexpected; he would not have thought that Lana would admit this so openly to him as he could take this chance and run with it. Or could he?

He looked back up at her as his shoulders drooped in defeat. No, he couldn't do that to her even if she was a HUGE, ANNOYING pest most of the time. That would be cruel and she didn't do anything of the sort to deserve such treatment.

He pushed himself off of the sand before making his way to the stony structure. His eyes scanned the area, looking for the best places to climb up. Why didn't she think of going down before she went up here? He snorted, girls.

He climbed up the rock slowly, making sure that he had a good way of going down with her.

Lana
Lana watched him, hoping to Mkodi that he wouldn't run away. That'd be really mean, and Cani wasn't that mean, was he?

No, he wasn't, as was proved when he began looking for a way up to her. Or at least, that was what she assumed he was doing. She watched him from far above with interest, peering down at him with fiery eyes.

"...Thank you," she called down, perhaps a bit prematurely, but she felt it was justified. Backing up a little so he had space to clamber up, she wondered how he was going to get her down. Was he going to make a path or something? She couldn't jump, it was far too high! Se'd hurt herself, and get her pretty fur messy! "Make sure you can get down too!"

Cani
Her gratitude made him uneasy, as it didn't seem so natural coming from her. Canicus just let it slide and didn't make a reply as he was finally right next to her.

Not letting his eyes settle on her, he looked at the view and was caught by how amazing it was. Golden sand as far as the eye could see. After a few moments of soaking in this view, he shifted his gaze towards her as he replied, "I can get down just fine. I made sure that the way I came up was easy enough to get down."

He turned and motioned to where he came from. "You'll go down there. All the rocks are sturdy and won't budge." He waited for her to go before he went. That way, if anything happened, he could help out.

Lana
Jvalana watched as he pulled himself up, frowning as he didn't look at her. Why was he avoiding her!? She moved as if to nudge him, before realizing he was watching something different, so she looked up - and it was so pretty. Shining sand, seeming to stretch for endless miles across the savannah. How had she managed to miss that, when she'd climbed up here?

He talked and her attention was back on him, Lana pouting a little. "I can do it myself!" she snapped, wanting to regain some control over the situation as she moved over towards where he'd indicated, glancing over at the rocks, "...They're really thin. I'll slip." Was he purposefully trying to make her hurt herself so he could laugh at her?

Cani
His eyes narrowed slightly at her words. Here he was, going out of his way to help her and she was complaining?! He brushed past her briskly and started to make his way down the rocks. "Stay up here then. I'll be heading down now." He didn't want to play any games right now. He was getting super annoyed now and didn't want to lash out at Lana. She was just being a silly, annoying girl, like always.

His tail flicked back and forth in annoyance as he made his way slowly back down. He picked his way very carefully, trying to not lose his balance and fall down.

Lana
The young lioness' eyes widened considerably as she realized Cani was leaving without her, "No, wait, I'm coming! Don't leave me up here!"

She hurried after him, not wanting to be left behind. Perhaps a little predictably, however, her rush meant her feet weren't placed as carefully as they should have been, and she was only a few rocks down when her foot slipped, the rest of her following it down the cliff face. She screamed, managing a "Watch out!" to hopefully give Cani enough warning to move. She wasn't sure why she was shouting to him - anyone else she would've let cushion her fall. But Cani was her playmate, her sparring partner.

Lana merely continued screaming - she was too young to die!

Cani
He closed his eyes and tried to block her out but to no avai. He could hear her a mile away, she was so loud! His ears perked up as he started to hear a few rocks slide as he realized what had happened. Lana was falling!

Acting fast, she wasn't too far ahead of him as she was falling forward. In a brief moment, he reached out with his mouth to grab on to her tail. Surely it wasn't the most pleasant way to catch someone, but they were lions afterall and his claws couldn't hold onto her. With her tail in his mouth, he tried to not use too much teeth as he held her while he fell a few rocks before he sunk his claws in the rocks. Hopefully this would hold the two of them until Lana got her footing again.

Lana
She was still screaming even as he grabbed her tail, though she stopped with a gasp as she was sharply yanked upwards, instead giving a loud yowl of pain at the sudden pressure put on the joint between her tail and her hind. Scrabbling at the rocks to try and regain her footing, it was difficult as Cani dropped a few rocks with her weight, Lana giving another scream before she finally managed to get her two front paws securely on one of the wider rocks, tugging her hind legs in to meet them, hoping that Cani would release her tail and prevent anymore pain.

She gave a sob, shuddering softly, struggling a little to fit all of her limbs on the rock. One thing was clear - it didn't look like she was going to be moving down again anytime soon.

Cani
Once he was sure that she was stable on the rock, he let go of her tail. Her screaming turn to a sob as she didn't move from the rock. He exhaled slowly to calm his nerves. It was a rather scary, thrilling experience that he didn't want to go through anytime soon.

With a step forward, he glanced back and noticed that she wasn't moving from where she was. Perhaps it was from the shock of her fall, but something, somewhere deep inside of him tugged at him. His ears lowered as he went back to her. Silently, he sat down right next to her.

Lana
She let out another shaky sob as she spotted Canicus, continuing downwards. Was he just going to leave her!? Oh...no, he was coming back up. She furiously avoided his gaze, both embarrassed and angry at herself for being so stupid and careless. Now he probably thought she was some whiny girl, just like he'd thought last time. She just wanted to impress him, show him she was better than everyone else! Which she was, y'know.

Still, there was no escaping the fact that he had, infact, just saved her.

"Thank you," she whispered softly, still refusing to look at him. She waited a few more moments, expecting him to leave, a little surprised when he didn't. "You can go," she mumbled, staring furiously at her paws, "...Papa will come get me."

Cani
There it was again! She was thanking him! Twice in one day, the world was going to end tomorrow. All of this was making him slightly uneasy as he didn't look at her.

But then her latter words surprised him. She wanted him to leave her here, all alone and scared? If she deserved it, he would have. But she didn't. He turned to look at her, "Leave you here, shaken and scared? Only to have your dad come and hunt me down?," He paused briefly to tease her like his usual self (and to get rid of the embarassed, uneasy feeling), "Someone has to make sure this Huria doesn't hurt herself anymore!"

Lana
Wait, he wasn't leaving? At all? She continued watching her paws, at least until he insulted her, then she turned to him with a hiss, looking as if she might lash out, before she decided against it. She wanted to keep all four feet on this rock, thank you very much! "Shut up," she snapped, almost normally - this was strange, the two of them being nice. It didn't suit Cani, not that she wasn't grateful. And she was glad, almost, to know he didn't completely hate her and want her to die.

"I'm not going down," she reinforced, making sure he realized he'd be sitting up here with her, "I'll hurt myself."

Cani
He raised an eyebrow at her exclamation, "And you plan on staying up here forever?" That, of course, was not practical in the least! He could only imagine what his mothers would say if they saw him right now. Oh, he could just imagine their teasing, angry gazes at him.

Softly, "What can I do to help you get down?"

Lana
"No!" she responded snappily, hissing at him a little more, the tip of her tail twitching - she would have lifted it with the hiss, except that would hurt. She didn't want it to hurt anymore. Her gaze turned back to her paws again, staring at them furiously - it was their fault! If they hadn't slipped, she wouldn't be here now!

What could he do? "I dunno," she shrugged moodily, taking a cautious glance over the edge. It wasn't too far to the ground, but still too far to jump. "I'm waiting for Papa," she spoke stubbornly, tensing her limbs, "He'll lift me down or...something."

Cani
He sighed impatiently before he stood up. He was through with her moodiness. She'd get over it soon enough anyway. With a glance towards the ground, they weren't too far off. But.....a glance towards Lana, she wasn't going to like it at all.

Though, a time like now declared he had to be forceful with her. She was being so STUPID! His eyes narrowed angrily before he went to Lana's side and reached with her mouth to pull her scruff. With as much force as he could muster, he pulled her with him towards the bottom of the rocks. He was through being nice, and she needed a nice kick in the butt anyhow. At least this way, she was with him so if something happened to her, it'd happen to him too.

Lana
He was being quiet, he must be plotting something. She began to glane towards him, saw movement out of the corner of her eye - felt pressure on her neck, and instantly lashed out to him, screaming as he began to drag her downwards.

"NO, LET GO!" she half snarled, half screamed, soon realizing he wasn't going to let go and so instead gripping onto him tightly, claws fastening into his skin, refusing to let go. She clamped her eyelids shut, refusing to look, shuddering a lot more than she had been previously.

All in all, making it very difficult for Canicus.

Cani
As soon as she latched onto him, he winced in pain but kept his grip on Lana. He wouldn't let her go, even if it meant she was clinging onto him painfully. Determination was written all over his face as they were nearly the bottom.

Only a few more steps to go.....and then....FREEDOM!

As his paws touched the sand, he took a few steps, dragging Lana foward until they were away from the rocks. He let go of her scruff and waited for her death grip to let go on him. "Lana." He hissed her name through his teeth, she was going to leave more marks on him.

Lana
She just shuddered, gripping onto him as tightly as she could, only a small portion of her brain bothering with the fact that she could be hurting him. Her eyes were closed, so she didn't notice when they reached the bottom, only prizing her eyelids open when the male hissed her name. Realizing the sand beneath them meant they were safe on the ground, she began to unlock her joints, slowly crawling off of him, trying to do as little further damage as she could with her claws.

But really, it was his fault. He'd been the one to drag her. "Why...Why did you do that!?" she fumed, ignoring the fact that they were now both safe on the ground once more, and the whole episode could be forgotten, "I told you I was fine! We could..we could have fallen and DIED!"

Cani
Her fuming confused him greatly. Here, he had put his life on the line to help her (and his because he feared what a father would do to him) and she is yelling at him! The nerve of this stupid female!

His ears flatten against his head as he snarled back at her while yelling his frustration, "You were NOT fine! Don't lie to me! You were sobbing and terrified! Would you really have wanted me to have left you there? All alone and until who knows when someone will come to find you? Perhaps I should of; next time I will know better than to stick my neck out for this stupid Huria!" He seethed angrily as he had had enough for one day.

Not wanting to be in her infuriating presence any longer, he turned around to head on back towards his family. What an ungrateful Huria. He goes against everything to try and help her, and this is what he gets? He grumbles angrily under his breath as his body was tired and sore from the whole ordeal. If he was lucky, he wouldn't scar up too bad. Why was it he got the most scars from Lana anyhow?

Lana
...Oh, he was angry now.

Lana shuffled backwards, ears flat against her head as she watched Cani in surprise. Why was he so angry at her!? What he said made...well, it made sense, but she was only trying to impress him! Not look like some stupid Huria like he thought she did! She didn't want him to think of her like that!

And then he was leaving. Her first thought was to let him go, he was just being stupid and grumpy. But the longer she watched him leave, the guiltier she felt, and Lana soon found herself running after him. "I...listen...Hey, Can-can, WAIT!" she called after him, struggling to catch up due to her tired, still shaking limbs. "I'm sorry, 'kay!?"

Cani
The sand beneath his paws was a nice feeling as he cherished it. The rocks were so hard and unforgiving.

Ears flicked back as he heard Lana's voice calling out to him. He didn't stop. He didn't care what she had to say, it was probably nothing important anyway. Probably just her yelling at him about how stupid and inconsiderate he is. But then, her latter words made him stop dead in his tracks. She....was apologizing to him? Now, this was a first. He was clearly not expecting that as he turned his head slightly to look back at her with surprise written all over his face.

But then, he felt the fatigue hit him hard as he exhaled slowly. He was too tired to fight with her. The day had been way over for him before it even began and he had no energy.

His eyes soften slightly as he turned his head back towards the sand as he spoke quietly, "Saving you is a full time job." Fully aware that she was not going to leave him and follow him back. She was like a pest he couldn't shake, but it did provide him with company, which he would never admit to her.

Lana
Oh, good, he realized that her saying sorry wasn't something she did often. Perhaps that would finally get it through his thick, stupid boy-skull that she wasn't trying to annoy him on purpose. He stopped, giving her tie to catch up, and Lana had to take a few rasping breaths before she was able to speak again, "I didn't mean to get stuck. I was bored." she tried to explain herself, pausing again for several moments before she finally spoke up again, "Thank you."

Saving her was a full time job? Well, it wasn't like she did it on purpose! The juvenile lionness flared her nostrils to show her annoyance at such a statement, but didn't say anything, only grumbling quietly under her breath. Did this mean he'd finally stop calling her a Huria? It really...well, in all honesty it really hurt that that was all he seemed to think of her. This was all her trying to prove herself to him, prove that she wasn't a huria. But she didn't want to admit it to him, incase he called her an idiot or thought she was being stupid. What he thought meant a lot to the lionness, although she'd never let him know that.

Cani
Once she was right next to him, he glanced on eye at her before snorting, "I'm sure there are much safer things to do when you're bored." He was certain of this, just look at his siblings!

Although, he was caught by surprises today to say the least. It had been....exhusting. "Are you sure you're the right Lana? Or are you becoming soft to me as I don't remember you thanking me three times in one day before." He teased her lightly. It was the only way he could think of to ease the tension he was feeling at the moment.

He had only presented himself to Lana as a grumpy, angry, teasing kind of guy. For him to say nice and sappy stuff to Lana would break that image of him being all tough and manly! He wouldn't want anyone else, or her for that matter, to think of him as weak and thus, he puts up that tough exterior that he felt cracking at times. Especially when Lana cries.

He shifted his gaze towards the sands as he mutters softly, "Just don't....cry anymore."

Lana
"Safe means it isn't exciting," she replied with a small smile - but it was true. All of the safe things were boring. Like, despite the impending danger and risk of DEATH, now she was safely on the ground she could agree that the minor episode with falling down the rocks had been...well, really funny, and quite fun.

What? He was teasing her for her gratitude!? She scowled, albeit softly, playfully taking a swipe at his face (with her claws sheathed, of course!) that was slow enough for him to dodge if he wanted, though it got her annoyance across. "Shut up," she pouted, nudging his shoulder with her head, "I won't bother next time."

This was kinda awkward. She had to shuffle forwards a little to hear his quite mutters, though straightened quickly with wide, surprised eyes once she'd realized what he'd said. He didn't like her crying? That was...that was really sweet. And really un-Canicus like. She blinked a few times, remaining quiet for a short while before replying. "Only..." she started, hesitating for a few moments before continuing, "...Only if you stop calling me a huria."

Cani
What she said was true though. All the exciting and unsafe things were usually the funniest things to do. He couldn't argue with that. But if she got hurt...he couldn't imagine what would happen to him if her father just so happened to come across the two of them at such a time. It wouldn't bode well for him and the thought sent chills down his spine.

At her playful swipe, he moved slightly out of the way before he felt her nudge on shoulder. It hurt slightly from the cuts, but he wouldn't let her know. He had to remain strong...for the two of them, if not just for Lana.

His ears lowered slightly as he felt his face heat up from embarassment. What an odd position he had put himself into. He didn't think such a name would affect her as such. Did he really make her cry so much? It made him feel bad now, he didn't want to make her cry so much even if she was annoying all the time!

He kept his gaze forward, not trusting himself to look at her right now. She had aggressively pushed herself into his life from the very start. If he didn't want her with him, he could have done stuff to get her out....but he didn't. He didn't understand why at the time and still doesn't. But somewhere deep down inside of him, he enjoyed her company over his siblings. Softly, "Does it really hurt you when I say that?"

They were in front of his family's den before he got too tired to go any further. He flopped down on the sand and didn't move. He was just sooooo tired.

Lana
His body language was confusing her - his ears were lowered, but that wasn't a very Cani thing to do unless he was angry. And she most certainly hoped he wasn't angry, she hadn't said anything! Eventually his words came softly, and her own ears pinned themselves back at the awkward position she was suddenly in. Ack, this was exactly what she hadn't wanted to tell him! But now he'd asked her the direct question, and she had the option of lying and likely looking stupid, or telling the truth.

She flopped down beside him, head in her paws as she took a good few moments to ponder over her answer. She chewed her bottom lip, sighing as she rolled over onot her back, belly in the air. "Well...yes," she admitted gently, speaking quietly in the hopes that only Cani could hear. It wasn't helping that they were having this conversation right outside of his den. What if his parents or siblings heard!?

"I'm not a huria, but you still call me one. I try to be as un-huria like as I can, so you'll stop, but it always...goes wrong. I'm not a huria - Daddy tells me my coat is perfect." she spoke, pausing between each sentence as her flow of thoughts formed in her mind. She sighed again.

Cani
He felt the vibration in the ground from her laying down next to him. Once she was comfortable, he wiggled closer to Lana before resting his head on her stomach. She was just so warm....a warm pillow.

He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, "For today, you'll be my pillow." He exclaimed to her. It was the least she could do, with all the torment she put him through.

And then quietly so that only she could hear, "It's my pet name for you. I don't say it with the intent that you are a huria. I know you aren't. But I'll stop..." He let his voice trail off, fearing to say anymore. Emotions and feelings were so foreign to him.

Lana
Okay...this was weird. Cani was using her as...a pillow? He spoke, confirming it - yes, she was his pillow. This was unexpected, and strange, and Lana wasn't used to such...friendly actions. Her siblings were all below her, she didn't allow such interactions with anyone but her daddy. And he wasn't always the type for cuddles and affection - this was new to the lionness.

It was kinda...nice, though.

He was speaking really quietly, but she heard it as if he were speaking normally right next to her. A pet name? What, like...a nickname? Except a fond one? Was that like what Papa called her? But he wasn't her dad. This was all really strange, especially for the usually blunt, fierce Canicus.

"Oh..." she mumbled, surprised by it all, "I didn't...know that." How was she supposed to know it was only a pet name? He'd never told her! "You don't...have to stop," she mumbled softly, "Not if you don't actually mean I'm a huria."

Cani
He rolled his head to the other side, in the direction of Lana's face as he opened his eyes slowly. "Of course I don't mean it. You might be annoying and a pest and seem to stalk me everywhere. But...you are....my friend." He said the last part very quietly. He hated to admit that, but she was his friend.

He smirked, "And besides I could find much better names to call you if I was really angry and meant it." That much was true. He didn't think calling a Firekin a Huria was as much of an insult as other names he could think of. But perhaps Lana thought much differently than him and he had no idea. Of course he didn't! He never bothered to ask her what her thoughts were. Thoughts....that is interesting, something far from what he is used to.

He reached out with his paw to nudge her shoulder gently, "Go to sleep. You'll need all your energy for when I wake up, they'll be payback for today!"

Lana
He was watching her, and as uneasy as Lana was feeling with all of this touchy-feely-friendly stuff, she couldn't look away. She didn't want to. His statement shocked her, though, as was clear by the widening of her eyes and nostrils. Her expression softened, however, and she gave a genuine smile, something you didn't see often - it was usually a smirk. "You're my friend too, Cani."

She snorted at his comments on insulting her, shaking her head, "There's no worse insult that huria. It's not just a word - it means you're weak. That you're not a proper Firekin, that you're not strong or smart. To be a huria means you're worthless." Perhaps now he'd realize why she was so hurt by the so-called pet name?

She grumbled softly at his nudge, her eyelids already having begun to droop. Go to sleep? "It's not dark yet," she mumbled, resting her head on her paws, "...Will your parents mind?"

Cani
He let his eyelids fall as he was getting comfortable. He moved his head off of Lana, he didn't want his siblings or parents to get the wrong idea afterall. He didn't think he'd be able to live down the torture of his mothers if they caught him afterall! Instead laid his head right next to her side. The whole huria thing bothered her a whole lot apparently and he'd had to remember to refrain from that.

He shook his head and the one side of his face shook against Lana's side. "So? Just because it's light outside doesn't mean you can't go to sleep?" He curled his tail around him body, "My moms won't mind, you are one of us afterall....why would they mind?" Psh, he'd never understand Lana's way of thinking.

Lana
Awww, he'd moved his head. Despite how weird it had seemed at first, she'd gotten kind of used to the reassuring weight on her stomach. It had been nice. She didn't complain, though, not wanting to seem stupid. She wriggled with a small squeak as he shook his head, the edges of his fur tickling her side a little. Lana soon settled back down again, however, cheeks a little pinker.

One of them? As in one of the Firekin, or one of their family? She didn't really mind, whichever he meant, it was really nice to hear him saying it. Eyelids finally closing, Lana gave a small purr, a wide smile on her face. "Okay," she mumbled softly, continuing to purr quietly as she drifted into a contented sleep.

Cani
As he felt the drowsiness take over, he was trying to think of ways to get back at Lana....but he couldn't think of anything other than sleep at the moment.

His sides were slightly sore but that'd go away over time. He just hoped that he didn't hurt Lana's tail too hard. It was a shame that he had to grab it in order to support all her weight...but drastic times calls for drastic measures he reasons quietly.

With the warmth of the sun on his fur, he purred softly but for some reason felt hotter with Lana sleeping next to him. Not thinking too much on the matter, he let sleep take over as his world turned to black.
