He stretched out in his den, stretching out his paw to find his mate... but she wasn't there. It didn't really surprise him. She had taken to strolling around, and he liked to encourage the idea. It helped her meet people and be a little less... weird. Not that he wanted her weirdness to change! He loved her weirdness! It was really his favorite part of his girl.
Which he supposed made him a little odd to himself. But he couldn't really help himself. There was just something so... unique about his mate. She made him happy, in such an odd way. There was something freeing about being around someone who only judged him for... well, that one mistake he had made that one time.
Everything else was alright between them though.

She wasn't so much strolling as she was right outside their nice little den bathing... in sand...
Her black pet had become hardly recognizable as such, turning more of a dusty brown as she continued to roll herself through the thick, loose sands around their home, a pleased smile on her lips as she soaked it's warmth into her body. Now, this had a perfectly good purpose in her mind. Though she was sure her Jua may be a little upset when he saw the state of her... But he couldn't be upset once she told him her good news, no oh no! He would be happy as can be!
She finally stopped her rolling right outside the entrance to the den as the flopped onto her side in a lazy manner, her tail still lashing around to kick up dust, accidentally sending some down into their home while she was at it, enjoying the morning sun, as a deep, rumbling purr escaped her throat. Nataru Yu was in a very, very good mood this morning. Her mood had been good overall the past weeks, but today? Today was simply wonderful!
Better than any other day before! The only days that even came close where the day she first met her Jua, and the day her Jua became forever hers. Yes, this day very much rivaled the two. Now if only her Jua would wake... Maybe she should wake him.. She could always bite him.. that usually woke him very quickly... But it seemed a bad thing to do on a perfectly perfect day. It may ruin his mood. Or worse, make him angry. He may leave. And then she couldn't tell him her happy news. That would make her sad...
How else to wake besides biting? She whined a little as she pondered her 'difficult' question.

Jua snorted a little when sand trickled down into their den and made him sneeze a little. Well, that confirmed that either Yu was right outside, or he was about to be very violently attacked by something. He wasn't sure which idea he liked better, they were both extremely appealing. He wouldn't have minded either one of the two. He would have to decide after he managed to get his big lumbering self outside.
Then he caught sight of Yu and grinned a little. Alright, maybe the fighting would just have to wait for another time. He liked the idea of just spending time with his favorite girl for the time being.
"Yu, love, what are you doing right now?" He asked, grinning a little at all the sand that was floating around, "You're going to have to wash up later, and then we'll have all sorts of problems, you know that don't you dearest?"
He trotted over, observing her thoughtfully and chuckling, in far too good a mood to let her doing something so... well, no need to think about it. He was in a good mood, and so was she. Why ruin it with some half-baked arguement about cleanliness and wasting water?

A grin spread over the lioness' lips at the sound of her mate's voice, her head tilting back curiously to peer up to Jua from the position she was currently laying in on her back. Her tail swished out in a playful manner as she reached her now dark-brown looking paws up to pull him down a bit, licking at his muzzle.
" Good morning my Jua! And such a morning it is! " She purred happily, licking at him again before she rolled away onto her stomach to get up to her feet, jade eyes lighting up.
" Such wonderful news I have... Do you want to hear it? Shall I tell you? "
A more playful smile came over her now as she peered at him before lowering herself to shake like a dog would, sending sand everywhere as it was flung off her body to 'clean' herself a bit after the warm sand bath.

Jua tilted his head a little, stretching out his paws, "Good news is always... news, I guess. What happened pet? Find something fun? Maybe something to eat?" He mentioned, sitting above her and smiling down at her.
He liked it when she was in a good mood. Generally made her so much more agreeable. Still, he wondered what could have possibly gotten her into such a fuss. She was normally so... well, okay, she was normally crazy, but this was a good-mood kind of crazy, not her typical wild antics crazy.
"Come on now pet, tell me what's the what." He smirked, getting a little excited to hear what her news would be.

Her grin only widened as he asked her again what the news was, rearing up to rest her paws on his shoulders so she could nuzzle and lick at his face, before exclaiming something... A bit disturbing. " There are babies in my tummy! " She said happily as she dropped back from him to sit, and stare expectantly.
Obviously, she was waiting for him to be just as pleased as she was by the news, her tail twitching behind her in an excited manner still. She could barely sit still from her happiness and excitement. " Isn't it wonderful? Isn't it? "

Jua's jaw... well, it dropped. Not what he had been expecting. At all. No... really not. He was... he wasn't that old was he? When had he become an adult exactly? He had fooled around with Yu and stuff sure but this was...
Oh man. He was going to be a dad.
"That's... a little disturbing, but uh... great." He said, doing his best to wrap his mind around what he had just been told. What was he supposed to do with something like that? He liked cubs, sure, but this was... he hadn't really...
This was weird. Good, but weird.

" Yes, yes! It's positively wonderful!" She exclaimed, seeming not to notice, or just not care that he was taking the mood with more shock than he was happiness. Prancing away from the male, she circled around to pull herself up on top of their den to settle on the warm rocks, humming.
"Run and catch, run and catch~ The lamb is caught in the blackberry patch~ No no... My little lambs will stay away from the nasty blackberrys, yes... No running for them. They'll do the catching... " She purred out, rolling onto her side so she could coo down at her stomach to the babies hidden inside.

Jua barely managed to get out an "Uh-huh..." Staring blankly ahead, still trying to put two and two together. How the hell had this happened? How was he going to be a father? It didn't make sense, he decided. It just didn't.
Except that it totally did. Ugh.
"Well... maybe we'll be good at it..." He tested the thought, letting his mind wander a little to the possibilities. He might make a good father... he could teach the kids to fight, always be there for them... maybe even help them learn from his many, many mistakes. It was all possible, wasn't it? That his cubs would be... interesting? Normal? Different somehow? It made sense, in the long run.
"...maybe we'll be really good at it." A nice thought, when it settled in his mind. His own brood of warriors... who would hopefully be less crazy than their mother was.

" My Juaaa! Come up here and talk to the babies! " She called down to him after a long moment of peering at her mate who still stood in shock by the entrance to their den. A slow smile graced her lips, but it was gone long before he saw it, the lioness returning to cooing at her still slim stomach.
Jua would make a wonderful father. And she would make a wonderful mother! .. Owner..? Yes. Owner. Would it be off for the children to call her Mistress? Hmmm. Grinning at her own off-balanced thoughts, the female let them go for now to focus on her coming family. There was time to figure those things out later.

Jua smiled, reaching up and running his paws through the fur on her head, "We'll be great pet..." Or at least he hoped he would be. He hated to think he'd screw up being a father of all things. But he was not pressing his ear against her belly or speaking to things that couldn't hear him.
That was just silly.
"Should we tell someone...? Friends or family maybe..." He really had no idea how this worked. What did people do when they had cubs? Maybe they shouldn't tell anyone? Eh, they'd figure it out.
