Zahira wasn't entirely sure how she had managed to get away from the crowd in her father's den but she wasn't exactly going to complain. She was careful not to wander too far lest she get in trouble, but she was curious. Everything seemed so much more interesting while she was by herself, though she wasn't sure that made any sense. She didn't really have to worry about that anyway, unless she had to explain to someone.. but it didn't look like there was anybody around.

She paused in examining a funny rock she had found and took a quick look around, almost nervous that she might be found. She wasn't sure if it would be worse to be found by her father or some strange pad. But.. she was already out so she was ready to make the most of it. She perked back up and decided it was time to go and see if she could find the lake by herself.

Freedom, sweet freedom!

It had taken a few weeks of strategic thinking, a fair amount of lectures and a ton of botched experiments for Ender to find the perfect way to waltz out of his father's den - a feat that rivaled the gods. Having been born with odd coloured eyes, it made him easier to pick out of the overcrowded amount of children. Where did Ender go? The one with the grey and dark blue eyes. Oh, I saw him down the way earlier today.

Stupid eyes.

After careful consideration, he jumped onto a funny-looking rock that spread out over his pathway, darning his aimless wandering a little, he sat down roughly and gazed around at the area before him. The quiet, silent area. Quiet. It was beautiful. No sisters to bother him and no brothers to ask him insessant questions. He really did love them, all, but there was only so much you could do when you have around 8 sisters chittering around your ears at all times. He just craved silence.

It was only after a few moments of his internal rambling that he noticed in the near distance, the movement of another in his path - which seemed a little peculiar. He knew immediately that it wasn't one of his siblings, as her rich golden colours were foreign to his father's bloodline. Raising his eyebrows, he decided that maybe she was a stowaway like him, and curiousity got the better of him. Before he could stop himself, the short call of "Hey, you there!" rang out over the field, grasping for a reply from the other youth that ran through in that day.

Skipping along happily by herself, Zahira wasn't expecting anybody to come by-- though it was a silly idea, really, since there were soooo many lions in the pride. And someone might notice she was missing sooner or later. She wasn't really a daughter of Tariq and amongst her siblings she was quite unique.. so she stood out to some extent more than the others as well. That was her motivation to keep going, though! Enjoy yourself while you can!

She was startled out of her skip and merry thoughts by the sound of someone calling out to her. She looked out toward the source and immediately her entire attitude changed. It was a male, for one, and a stranger. She didn't think his size made a difference in how she was expected to behave. Instead of standing tall and carefree, she almost cowered.

"G-good afternoon!" she squeaked, but then regretted it. Was she supposed to say that? Or was she supposed to wait? He had called out to her, it would be rude not to respond.. right?

At the sound of the meek little voice that came from the bright little lionness who had been skipping just a few minutes before, he was unsure how to answer once again, her demeanor and attitude conflicting. Banking his head to the left, he stared at her with mismatched eyes, eyebrows raised slightly.

"Please don't be scared!" He meeped out, noticing how intimidating it may have had been, for some random male to call you out - especially in this territory. "No need to worry so much, I was just looking for some companionship, I ran off from home for a while - needed a little me time, you know?" He rambled a little, his glance straying ever so slightly as he vented out, as if he was staring a little frustratedly into nothingness, before focusing back to her once again.

"Er, sorry. Venting."

Zahira silently stared at the small blue stranger as he tried to reassure her. He was small and he sounded friendly, no matter how immediately terrifying he seemed. She relaxed a little bit but did not put her guard down completely. It helped that she understood what he was talking about when he rambled, or vented as he called it. She was from a big family and she was out on her own for a bit of a break.. even if she was less free than him to do so. A companion outside of your own family would be better, she decided, and if he wanted someone to walk with she couldn't really say no.

"It- it's ok, I understand," she muttered, then offered a small, nervous smile.

Whatever he had done, it had worked. Good job, you broke through that awkward barrier. You should be proud, he thought to himself, before looking to the golden lioness, breaking into a kind smile as he bounded off the high rock to get a closer look at her. It was nice to know that even in his rambling moments, he was still understandable.

After a few careful steps, he sat down in the grass once again, a couple feet away from his new acquaintance, watching her with his odd coloured eyes, head tilted to the side. "S-So, what brings a pretty girl like you all the way out here? It's rare to see people alone in our pridelands. . ."

She watched him come closer and closer, taking a moment to appreciate his appearance. He was very unique compared to her family, even considering her own littermates and how unique they were amongst their family. His fur was very simple. When he spoke again, she could have blushed- and she couldn't help but smile a little bit.

"I- I was going for a walk," she said quietly, the smile fading as she tried to think of whatever good excuse there might be for it, "It's crowded at home, I thought it'd be fun to go by myself. I wanted to go to the river."

He had said he wanted time to himself and even if he was more free to it than she was, perhaps he could appreciate her desire to go off on her own too.

"Well, seems like we're two peas in a pod." he murmured, flashing his tail across the grass lightly, upsetting the balance a little, before the blades sprang up around his pale blue fur. "I'm the youngest son of Faiz, my name is Ender. It's always so hustle and bustle in my home - hard to get past the watching eyes of the Beybanu and other Banus." He finished, looking up to the sky lightly, having realized that they had yet to exchange hellos, he gave her a curt little bow before lifting his head up. "It's good to meet you though."

A walk would do him good, though. A nice pace would help him get away from his mind, and there was always room for a companion, especially of such a fair colour as she. It made him happy to see such a warm colour, in comparison to the cool shades his father produced. It was even brighter than a couple of the Lady Banus that Faiz had taken into his den. Like a rare metal. Clearing his throat, he looked up to her again. "If you would have me, lady Banu, I'd love to accompany you on your walk. Always good to walk in company, right?"

She was smiling more openly when he introduced himself, deciding that she liked him-- or at least willing to admit he had given a good first impression of himself and she was happy not to be caught by someone who would scold her for wandering off.

"I'm Zahira, daughter of Vizier Tariq," she introduced herself in return, noting that Faiz was also a Vizier and so they generally had more Banu than the typical pride member.. so they probably did both come from exceptionally large families.

"I- I'd like that," she said, not so certainly but feeling more open and curious now. If she had to pick company to go on her walk, Ender would not have been a bad choice at all.
