It was midday down in the mortal world, but up in the God's Haven the clouds were currently obscuring the sun's bright rays. Laini was grateful for this - she'd been up most of the night, trying to find her way out of a scary forest. The blind Goddess had had her bat familiar, Jicho, with her, but even with him guiding her it had taken them best part of the night to make their way out of the thick vegetation. There was been so many scary sounds - Laini hadn't wanted to sleep there. She wouldn't have been able to, with so many scary rustles and noises. She didn't want to get eaten.
So now, she'd brought herself up to the God's Haven, and was now huddled up behind a rock, snoozing peacefully. She was snoring lightly, and Jicho was settled on her head, also asleep. God's Haven was where the little Goddess of Sight felt safest - she had yet to meet anything but ridiculously nice, helpful Gods who were fluffy and let her sleep near them. They all protected her - unlike that horrible, horrible lion down in the mortal world. She shuddered softly in her sleep as he flitted through her thoughts. His horrible masked face and ragged fur...he'd tried to hurt her.
The young Goddess gave a slight whine as peaceful dreams slowly began to turn into a nightmare, with the horrible masked lion featuring as the main villan.

When the mortals were gathering and crowding the lands and no space for solitude could be found, the god's haven reflected oppositely. It was this unbalanced scale that the large, looming black figure enjoyed in taking advantage.
The night was almost gone, and with it, his mother. As well, a greater chance for any positive response from the beast passed as well. For during the night, he was far more easily soothed and swayed by the embodiment of his parent. It was also the darkness he blended into that made the atmosphere all the more welcome.
So he took refuge up at the haven, idly allowing the time to pass until it was his favorite part of the day again. He hadn't expected anyone, and that was part of the reason for coming here. However, almost as soon as he brought forth his paws upon the mist of the clouds, he sensed a slight disturbance in the air. He turned around, inspecting a plane on which a blue, small dot could be seen. He grunted; on another day, he would have ignored it, letting the vision fade away. But somehow, the black figure found his paws moving towards the small god child, and eventually, he was standing over the form.
His blue eyes - the only color that was on his appearance - connected to the blue fur of the child. When he realized that it was also on a rock, and that a bat accompanied her, he emitted a second grunt. Her face, though eyes closed, had a frightened expression. He wondered... could insignificant fears common amongst mortals exist in gods, and manifest in their haven?
