Kinaya was...well, very excited but very very tired. Lately, the pink lioness had been getting chubbier and chubbier, as well as lazier and lazier. Well, okay, it wasn't so much laziness as she really couldn't bring herself to walk far most days, couldn't hunt at all and was so tired she often couldn't even play or spend much time with Kame and Tai. Hell, the lioness had ended up informing her mate she'd be staying near the watering hole alone for a few days because she was feeling off and wanted to be near the water.
Tai had come to visit and had had to explain to Kinaya that no, she wasn't being lazy and going to end up displeasing Kame - she was just pregnant. The little lioness had known next to nothing about how cubs were conceived or carried really, or that she'd get so fat and tired when having them. However, knowing she was having babies was something that pleased her - after all, that's what she and Kame'bufuu had wanted.
Today she was stretched out comfortably by the water. Her belly didn't hurt too much and she was in high spirits. Especially since she had asked Tai to go ask Kame to visit her today but not to tell him why. She wanted to tell him the good news herself! Even if the news was a bit obvious.

Kame'bufuu walked along the lands of the Ukuucha'Wafalme pride to a nearby watering hole to meet Kinaya. She had apparently asked of him to come there to tell him something. He was pretty certain as to what that could be, considering the pink lioness's changes over the last couple of weeks. She had gotten fatter, considerably fatter, not that it mattered to Kame. Big or small he liked her all the same, especially considering the reasons for her sudden weight gain was that she was carrying his offspring. The seed from his loins.
Spotting Kinaya lounging by the water, Kame approached her, a small pleasurable growl escaping his lips. Seeing her there, just bathing in the sunlight, her big belly sprawled out across the ground was exciting to him. She was so big already, he'd surely have younglings soon. Little pink, blue and black cubs running around with his strength and her stamina.
"Kinaya," He said as he was only feet from her, "How are you feeling?"

She looked up, eyes bright and cheery, but was unable to stand and rush over to greet her mate like normally. "Well enough." the little lioness giggled, smiling.
"I think you know my surprise already." she teased, patting her belly lightly with a paw. Waaaay too hard to hide. "Lots of little ones."

"Yes," Kame said, a large smile sweeping over his face. He did not often give such large smiles, as he always believe smiling so brightly should be the results of something spectacular happening, and the conception and subsequent birth of his children was truly something spectacular to him.
"You look so round, Kinaya. They'll want to come out and greet the world soon," He said, sitting down gently next to her and carefully placing an ear to her swollen belly. He could hear her heart beat, as well as the moving of his little ones. They must be sleepy, as he could barely feel them kick.
"I am amazed," He said, letting his head rest there until Kinaya let him know whether or not it was making her feel uncomfortable.

The usually-very-little female giggled more at his language and nuzzling. It tickled! Her giggled caused one of the babies to kick a bit and she winced but kept smiling. "Silly, you're riling them up." she teased, "They want to come out and play and they can't yet."
One soft pink paw reached out to brush over his mane softly, "I'm glad you're pleased."

Kame looked utterly content as his head laid on her stomach, feeling the kicks of his soon-to-be-born children. He was overcome with such joy and pride knowing that soon enough Kinaya's sounds of labour would bring into the world his first set of children. Unbeknownst to him, he already had a set of children. Twins, even, one girl, one boy, both balls of pure energy with little skulls on them. He'd be proud as well, if he knew they existed.
He pulled his head up from her stomach, but starred at it intently, placing a paw gently onto it and giving her a soft knead there, "Calm down little ones. It's only a short amount of time before it's your time to come into this world, till than you must be patient. Be patient and wait."
Look at him, commanding his children to wait until Kinaya's body said it was time for them to be born, while he sits there wanting them born immediately. Coaxing their kicking with a paw; He was so bad sometimes and he knew it.

The pink female giggled a bit, "You're so silly some days, Kame." she teased, petting his mane a little bit more. "You're going to rile them up with all the attention." Truly, Kinaya was joking.
"They are definitely due soon though. Not quite sure when but I sort of know. It's odd." the banu commented, eyes soft as she looked out over the lands. This would be a good home for her children.

"Soon?" Kame commented, his ears perking up upon his head. If she was due soon she would need to come back to the den, right away. It was not fitting for Kinaya to give birth outside the safety of the den. A multitude of terrible things could happen in the process. What if one of the cubs rolled into the watering hole and drowned? This was not appropriate, far from appropriate.
"Kinaya, if the babies are coming soon you need to come back to the den..." He said, a sense of worry in his voice, "Tai and I can bring you water if you need it, but you should be near us if you think the babies are being born soon."

The female laughed, "Not THAT soon." she said, petting his ears a bit with a paw, "Relax Kame. I know to head home when it gets close enough to time. I'm just out here till then. I have no idea when I'll be able to leave the den much after they're born so I might as well enjoy the weather now right?"

Oh good, He thought to himself, calming down a bit. With Kinaya being a first-time mother, he was worried she wouldn't know when it was time to return. He sighed to himself, his worries over the well-being of his first litter of children getting the best of him and catching him completely and utterly off guard at times. He knew better than to be this way, even if the pride was a wholesome pride where they worked together to make their environment safe, he couldn't but help feel as if he still needed to be on his guard. There were schemers everyone one went, even in a place such as this, it was best no to give them ammunition.
"Right..." He said quietly, looking about as other members of the pride passed by or came to the watering hole for a drink and left as soon as they had came. He wondered if Kinaya had made any friends as of yet, so far it had been him, Tai and her for a good while, and he was sure Kinaya of all people would have wanted to socialize.
"Have you made any friends around here, Kinaya?" He asked genuinely. He had hoped she had, perhaps they could teach her a thing or two about rearing cubs. Tai would be preoccupied as the only huntress for the time being, so someone to keep Kinaya company or instruct her would be a good thing for her.

The pink female's eyes lit up at that, "Yes! I made a friend! Suha's really really nice! She was telling me stories and she's going to come tell stories to the babies so she gets better." the lioness told him with a bright smile.
"You'll like her - she's very very nice. Very young but she's smart!"

Kame couldn't help but find it amusing that Kinaya was pretty much telling him she had befriended a little one. It was as if she was attempting to gain a small amount of practice before their children were to come into the world. It was endearing, to say the least.
"I'm glad you made a friend, Kinaya," Kame said sincerely, scratching his mane a bit as he spoke to her, "I have made an acquaintance myself. His name is Vu. A fellow warrior."
He was very pleased that Kinaya, Tai and himself were adjusting to the pride's surroundings so well. It made him feel better about the decision they had made to take up residence within this pride, and helped quell any worries or fears he may have had.
Looking back to Kinaya, Kame's ears twitched slightly, "Are you hungry, Kinaya? I can go fetch you something..."

The female was in the process of telling her mate how wonderful it was that he'd made a friend and that she was just fine when she felt a kick and realized that yes, indeed, she was quite hungry. Kinaya giggled some, shaking her head,
"Actually, yes. Food would be nice right about now." she admitted sheepishly, patting the kicking one to settle it down some. "The little ones will get rowdy if I don't." That was meant as a joke but did have some obvious meaning.

No sooner after Kinaya opened her mouth to inform her mate that she and their children were feeling hungry, did Kame jump up off the ground, ready to get for her whatever she needed. He wanted to provide for her as much as he could to keep her and their children healthy, feeling that his old age has made having children risky. Kame didn't know that the risk laid on the mother's age and not his own, but not knowing this wouldn't kill him or Kinaya, if anything it'd keep her as stress free as he could make it for her.
"I'll be back with food for you soon. Make sure our children don't try and escape you before than," Kame joked, giving Kinaya a lick on the forehead.
The strong, quiet ex-general left his mate's side to make his way back to the den to see if Tai had come back from hunting. Over the weeks of being with Kinaya and Tai, Kame's had become a little more extroverted than he once was. He was a little more talkative, a little more affectionate, especially with Kinaya, and a little more expressive.
His exile, while heartbreaking, seemed to work out for the better of Kame's life, and he would remind himself of this in all the things he would do; even if it included acting as a delivery boy.
