"I'll show them!" the large god landed with a thud, the chains that looped around his body rattling as he shook his frame, "I'll show them all!" he shook himself again, producing even more sound as he growled, paced right a bit, and then left again before snarling and repeating the process. For all his large bulk, Ushaufu pretty much looked like a scorned teenager that was busy throwing a tantrum, "How dare they!" the words were snapped at a random lizard, which stopped it's walking across a nearby boulder to look up at the winged lion before scurrying off.

He made a strangely guttural sound before flopping down into a seated position on the ground, his ears flat against the half mane that had never quite seemed to grow in entirely. It was, in fact, the source of his troubles; a couple of his pride mates had chosen an apparently delicate day to tease the god over his looks. Their teasing had caused Ushuafu to spread his wings and leave the Mizuka territory in a huff; it wasn't his fault his mane hadn't entirely grown in! And even so, he was just as manly as any other lion, thank you very much!

A growl was released and he shrunk slightly into himself before twitching slightly, mostly because while he'd left in a huff... he had absolutely no idea what the bloody hell he was going to do to make himself feel better. He hadn't really thought past the whole 'leaving in a huff' part, and now, he couldn't very well go back; that would be stupid. So thus, Ushaufu sat there, feeling utterly miserable, and horribly upset over the situation at hand.

He'd have probably stayed there for only Mkodi knew how long had the sound of someone approaching hadn't alerted him. Instantly, his ears perked, and the god stiffened considerably as he realized he'd landed dab smack in the middle of pridal grounds. The scents were there, in the air now that he was paying attention, and he mentally kicked himself for not having noticed such an obvious thing (though then again, he'd been busy having a fit). He knew full well that not all prides seemed to appreciate Gods, and thus, his first reaction to that thought was to active his powers.

As brown pelted lioness approached... her eyes never once saw the god that had been making all that infernal noise from before, but rather, whatever it was that her eyes wished him to be. Despite that, Ushuafu found himself narrowing his eyes and pulling a step away from her; damn, he was stupid, and he really needed to start looking where he was going (or rather, where he landed).

Syeira had been having a rough time of it lately. Age was slowly creeping up on her and her pride was left without an heir to speak of. She was well aware that she could have left any of her offspring in charge but something about pinning a pride on one of her offspring that hadn't been ready to take it on simply seemed irresponsible. No, she needed an heir to prune, to shape, to mold into a perfect little queen.

But that led to problem number two, the one that hurt the most underneath her steady mask: Uumi had been missing for months. She tried to tell herself that it was inevitable, that her mate would eventually kill himself trying to do something, especially since the pair of them were getting on in age. But the way they'd left things? The rockiness they'd last parted with? Somewhere, deep in her heart, she was hurting. Their relationship was never perfect, but he was hers.

Those thoughts were in her head, like they had been so many times before. She was stalking her lands, slowly but purposefully, with her head held high and her face a cold mask of duty. Only, as she passed by a normal, everyday place on her rounds, a flash of red drew her attention. Was this it, was she going to go crazy in her old age? She paused and whipped her head back, afraid there would be nothing there, just emptiness to prove she was slowly becoming incapable as a queen.

But no, there..

"Uumi?" Her voice broke over the two simple syllables and that mask, that impenetrable mask, came tumbling apart like the weakest stone. Sorrow, joy, hope, anger - it all flashed, but above it all was a swelling and overwhelming love. She took a hesitant step towards him, then another, towards the blaring red lion she couldn't have missed if she'd been blind. "Uumi, is that you?"

If she had gone crazy now, she didn't care. She'd rather be crazy and with Uumi than sane and miserable any day of her life. For just a moment she wasn't an old queen, only a lioness with a fragile heart.

Uumi?

Who the ******** was Uumi? Ushaufu found himself instantly decided that 'Uumi' was, in fact, an utterly ridiculous name, and that it sounded a whole lot more feminine than it should have. He should have been peeking into the female's mind, trying to figure out just what sort of web he was going to weave in order to get out of the strange situation he'd landed himself in.

However... realization came crashing down upon the god; he was horribly out of practice and the precious time he'd waste mentally mocking that stupid name was now lost. Not only that, but the female was approaching him, and despite the fact he'd activated his illusion, he had no clue what the hell it was this female was seeing. Acting swiftly, he kicked his mind out of second gear and peeked into her thoughts; the first thing he saw there, was a red lion, which he assumed was this 'Uumi' she was calling out for.

Ew. Red. What the hell, this female had absolutely no taste in males. Did that mean that when she saw him, she saw this strange, red lion? He made a mild face, which he could not hide from Syeira; having been raised within the Mizuka and with no other... recollection of his past lives, Ushaufu was slightly biased against the color red. As a god, he knew it was a stupid notion, but it was hard to shake the idea out of his mind entirely; it'd stayed, if only just enough to get him to think that red was an entirely unattractive color.

Another sweep of her mind told him simply, that this 'Uumi' was probably her mate and that he'd been missing. He tried to sweep over her thoughts a third time, but that brought him no further information; all other thoughts seemed to be entirely guarded and thus he was left with those three simple facts. He could have groaned because that was really not a lot to work with, specially when one was out of practice. The female was stepping towards him though and he really needed to answer, "Yeah," he finally manage,"I got a bit... sidetracked on my way back. I got lost and took a detour - almost didn't make it back."

Oh, god, he had absolutely no idea what he was doing. He had no idea what sort of personality this male had, and what the hell it was he was supposed to do; should he just take a step back and fly away? But no, that would have been the cowards way out and waitaminute--

He paused, and narrowed his eyes as a strange thought bubbled new in his mind; the female in front of him was apparently... a queen. That soul thought left him standing in front of her, watching her suddenly through keen, intelligent eyes; maybe he could actually get something out of this situation if he played his cards right; oh, he'd show those guys back home alright.

He grinned at her, finally taking a step forward, "I kind of had a nasty fall. Hit my head. That didn't help the whole... finding my way back routine. My mind's kind of hazy on the detail," he just hoped that his powers were working like they should and she believed him.
