Haramu was...nervous. She'd found the place where her inner soul sang. But she could no longer stay. Even her demon realized it. She and Sira...would have to leave. So she sought out each of her cubs in the pride, to say good bye. She'd already spoken with Nonnodi, and now...she sought Tuc. She stood in front of the den of her dark daughter.
"Tuc! I need to talk with you." She was feeling more than a little guilty for not talking with her daughter more since she'd left the den.
Tuc was, however, very irritated. Beyond irritated honestly. Her first born son was ....white. WHITE. Of all the stupid colors to be born. She was looking at the ugliest cub and growled at it, eyes narrowing dangerously. Then she heard her mother. And she growled again, turning her head toward the den.
"Get in and be quiet. The cubs are sleeping." Not that she really cared.
Haramu blinked and ducked in. CUBS?! Her daughter had had cubs?! Oh no...The pale demoness PRAYED none of them had inherited her own pale coloring. When she was fully in, she saw she wasn't so lucky. She lowered the volume of her voice...not so much that it would be hard for Tuc to hear her though.
"I...certainly wasn't expecting you to be a mother."
"Yeah, well, me neither." She picked up the white male, who made a horrible noise and placed him at her paws. "Do whatever you want with him. He's not fit for this pride and if the father sees him, he's dead." She was always so very blunt.
"Damn Incubus named Roth got ahold of me and the white came from him. I wonder where the blond came from." Her voice was dripping sarcasm and she glared over at her mother before looking back to the rest of the pretty litter. So dark.
Haramu bristled. She never should have born that damn Qateth's cubs. Maybe Tuc would have been more....sane. The poor little one. She placed a careful lick on the top of her pale grandcub's head.
"Sh...you're safe, little one." She looked to her daughter, frown on her muzzle. "I came to say goodbye. You may see half-siblings in the future, if I bear anymore dark cubs. But I am leaving. And if you want nothing to do with this cub, I'll take him with." She snorted. "So you needn't bear the shame of having a Na'artu for a son." The last sentence had a sharp edge to the words.
Tuc didn't really blame her mother for her pale cub. The blond mane was OK, she supposed. It would look good on a darker body, but either way. She moved over to her mother, looking slightly confused. "....Why're you leaving? What about father? What about us? You don't want us anymore?" She asked, seeming to have calmed down from her unexpected outburst of anger.
The little boy shifted over to his stomach and curled up against Haramu's foot for warmth. He let out a little mewl, but settled down quickly and fell back asleep.
Haramu sighed, drooping a bit. "Your father doesn't even realize you, Nonnodi, Windeleer, and Sisimca are his. And Mori'earsira...he's going with me. Nonnodi too. I...I can't stay here. Tuc, the four of your weren't the only cubs in my litter. I had three others...cubs who would have only been Tsafar and Tsafare if they were lucky. I left them with someone outside of the pride, so that they might have a chance at a real life."
She shifted a bit so the cub might be more comfortable. "I will always bear pale cubs. And...I can't leave my own flesh and blood to a stranger again, or abandon them, or give them a life without hope. I just can't. So I will leave, and those cubs I have who will be demons, I will send this way."
"Isn't that what you're doing? You're going to be leaving those dark cubs just like you did the pale ones. It makes more sense to stay and send those pale things away." Yes, she had something toward pale demons, a hatred she couldn't explain. Something about them got her blood boiling. "Whatever. If you feel you HAVE to leave then do it. Take ...it with you too. I'll tell Roth and it's siblings I killed it." She was heartless at some points.
"I am not going to abandon them. They won't be sent this way until they are older. Until they aren't cubs anymore." She forced herself to not take offense, to not whack her daughter upside the head. Tuc wasn't a cub anymore. And she was still Haramu's daughter.
"No matter what, I love you and your siblings. No matter the distance. And I will miss you."
Tuc sighed and rolled her eyes a bit. Clearly she didn't take after her mother in the personality department. "Fine, fine. I'll teach them when they get here, then. ....Bring a slave back with news every once in a while, hm?" She asked, for once showing some kind of concern for her mother. While she didn't hang around mother often, Tuc still loved her. The only pale demon she would ever love, honestly.
Haramu nodded. "I'll send someone with news once in a while." She smiled slightly, and looked down to the cub at her paws. "Do you want to name him? Or shall I?"
"You do it. I've been calling it an it. ....If I name it I might not have the heart to send it away with you. ...It'd become someone's punching bag, I'm sure." She had a heart after all! Just... not really much of one. She looked to the pale cub again and frowned. To be honest, Tuc didn't even know what color his eyes were. She assumed black, like hers, or red like Roth's, but she didn't know what colors ran in his family. Clearly.
Haramu nodded. "I'll wait until I'm away from you to name him than." She nodded to Tuc. "Goodbye, Tucagwathiel." She picked the cub up gently, and started back to where the others would meet up with her. Once the others got there, she'd say goodbye to Sisimca. Once she reached the spot, just inside the borders, she placed the cub down. "What to name you, little one..." Names were important. VERY important.
Tuc snorted as her mother left, but she definately felt a pang in her heart. It was sad, seeing someone she loved leave like this, but if it was for teh best of the pride, and her mother, Tuc was OK with it.
